MiniMoxx

I'm so happy to publish the first interview in this book! I want to thank MiniMoxx for giving me the chance to interview her. It was such a pleasure reading her answers and getting to know such an amazing writer just a little more!

~ From what I've seen, romance is your niche. But I do notice that you also feed in other genres in your writing. Have you ever found that difficult to incorporate? Or does it come naturally?

Yes!! haha. I sometimes find it *really* difficult. My urban fantasy was the easiest, weirdly. But my mystery ones are the hardest. I think all the plot planning and tying things together is what makes it difficult haha

~ In regards to the first question, what does your planning process look like? Just to throw a few terms out, would you say you're a planner? Or do some of your stories develop a mind of their own?

I'm definitely a plantser! I like to start with an overarching plot and then flesh out little details later. I always know *vaguely* where I'm going, but the story will ALWAYS start having a mind of its own lmao.

~ I've had a chance to sample a couple of your stories. What I've read are works that are really well done, or well planned. When you start a new story, how long would you say it usually takes? Do you edit as you go?

It usually depends on the plot. Some stories I literally plan within a day (including title, cover etc) and then start writing on day 2 or 3 of the idea. Other stories it can take a while and usually a week or a month from the initial idea phase. Tethered Destinies, for example, I had the idea for around August 2021, and didn't start writing it until roughly December 2021! Whereas stories like My Blossoming Redemption I planned within a day, started writing the second day XD

~ In February, I had a chance to sample around five chapters of Perfectly Unexpected. In the blurb, there's a note on how it's loosely based on true events. Because you had a kind of foreground to work from, did it make writing the story easier or more difficult? To be honest, when I saw that note, it was very perfectly unexpected, haha.

Ohhh yes, that one! I'm editing that now, and it's definitely hitting hard! haha. That was definitely hard, but mainly emotionally. it was also a lot easier in terms of knowing where the story was going and what I wanted to do with it.

~ I also read a little of Tethered Minds which is part of a series, but a standalone. Can you tell us where your inspiration for the Tethered Series stemmed from?

I've always wanted to try enemies to lovers, and thats where Tethered Series started. But the idea as a whole came from a random conversation with a friend about parallel universes and then I started thinking "well, what if two people were soulmates but they couldn't be because of parallel universes?" and then I got this idea of the Knot Tattoos and enemies/lovers. It all just came together so randomly. And then I had this idea of different forbidden love tropes within this world so it started branching out XD

~ If you absolutely had to pick a favorite, which of your stories would you say is that one?

Oh thats hard!! haha. I'd have to say A Fighting Chance. It was so difficult to write but I just loved the pure love story there. It needs SO MUCH work, but I think their love story is my favourite!

~ Your list of completed works is very hefty! Can you tell us how you feel once you're able to type the last word and actually mark complete?

Gosh it's always a relief! I always do feel a sense of sadness when I finish a book though. I get so into the characters and attached it feels like a part of me almost dies in a way. But I know it's never over because editing will always need to be done haha.

~ A lot of times when I finish a story and just have to update the last chapters, I feel myself rushing the process out of excitement. Does that ever happen to you? Or are you able to hold yourself back enough to stay on your update schedule?

YES!!! haha. my recently finished book Veiled Vows, I changed from every other day to every day, simply because I powered through and finished it, and had it available. I had readers desperate to know what happened so I got excited with them in the end XD

~ I notice that you recently started uploading a new work called Beyond Reasonable Doubt. Can you give me an idea of what it's about? And can you tell us what we can be in store for?

I have! I'm SO excited about this one! It's a mystery/thriller with some romance thrown in. It's sort of inspired by a couple of ONC 2022 prompts and a spark of an idea after reading some physical books recently. It's about a girl who has amnesia after a car accident, and she starts remembering things after a random encounter with someone she keeps remembering. I have 5 chapters written offline so my inspiration is going nuts with it right now!

~ Finally, what advice can you give to both new and old writers?

Write for yourself! ALWAYS! I need to tell myself this sometimes. It can be so easy to fall into the trap of trying to please others, but if you're not happy with your work, it'll definitely show! And also, don't worry about first drafts! Just get the story out, you can always edit words, not an empty page! <3

I'm definitely excited to finished the amazing stories I started. If you guys have the time, I definitely recommend you guys checking out all of the amazing works she has up on her profile. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
