Not Okay

Floyd, Viva, and Plasma worked together to fly the ship away from Eden just before the planet was destroyed completely. Once they were out in space, they set the ship to autopilot and raced to the healing ward with Ræm's implant.

“What kind of monster slaughters a civilization?!" Plasma said in disbelief.

“Where are the others?!" Floyd asked.

“I don't know!"

Back in the Ark, Willow was on the verge of breaking down while John Dory comforted Hope and Trollex licked his dry lips.

“Need... water..." he panted. Being a Techno Troll, it was crucial that Trollex stayed hydrated. Veneer found a faucet and turned the valve to catch some of the cool water with one hand.

“Here, little guy," he said, kneeling and lowering his hand to Trollex, who graciously accepted.

“Thanks, kid," said Trollex after drinking and rubbing the water on his face. Veneer smiled at the Techno king.

“YOU?!" John Dory shouted, holding Hope close to him.

“Oh! Uh... Hi?" Veneer greeted with a nervous grin, standing back up.

“What are you doing here?! Come to steal more of our— Ow!" John Dory's shouts were cut off by Willow roughly pushing him on the shoulder.

“Synth is probably dead because of you!" she yelled.

“I was just trying to help," John Dory said defensively.

“Well, stop trying!" Willow spat. “Everytime you do, you just pile more weight on the load that the rest of us are forced to carry!"

“Calm down, no need to shout or push the new dad," Trollex said, but Willow glared at him.

“And you, you're no better. The only thing we can count on you for is when someone shows weakness, you'll be right there to support it!"

“Fine," Trollex huffed at the teen. “I don't care. I know you feel like you need to find some sort of flaw in everyone in your life just to make yourself feel okay. So find some in me!"

“Oh, go to Hell, Trollex!" Willow shouted.

“But John Dory don't deserve it!" Trollex yelled. “He's doin' the best he can, and no one's told him that yet! Do you have any idea how hard that must be, to be a new dad and feel like you're not good enough at it?"

“You think I don't know how it feels to not be enough?!" Willow argued, electric pulses emitting from her hands. “How it feels to be responsible for something you haven't figured out yet?! To struggle with keeping it together, or not being able to tell someone how you're feeling, or have nobody to ask if you're OKAY?!"

Suddenly, Willow unleashed a surge of energy that fried the lock for one of the cages holding the children. Veneer blinked in surprise before looking back down to Willow in concern.

“Are you okay?" he asked as she panted in frustration. Willow tensed up, but the weight of Veneer's words made her crumble.

“No... I'm not," she finally admitted, sitting on the floor with her knees to her chest. “I'm, like, a hundred miles from home, I don't know if my best friend is alive or dead, and I... I'm... I'm just so... tired. But I can't just... I'm too used to having to be responsible for everything, after taking care of fourteen brothers and sisters for most of my life."

All three boys stared as Willow sniffled with tears in her big purple eyes.

“Will," John Dory finally spoke up. “Trust me, no one understands all that more than we do. I was the oldest sibling, too, Trollex is royalty, and Veneer... No, wait. I'm still mad at him."

“Excuse me, I just saved your life!" Veneer said defensively.

“Not now, man," Trollex argued.

“The point is," John Dory continued, “you don't need to do all this on your own. That's why we're all here. We care about Synth just as much as you, so we're gonna work together to save him. We may not get it right all the time, but what matters is we're still gonna try. So, we in this together?"

Willow nodded. “Yeah, we're in this together."

For extra reassurance, John Dory pulled her in for a hug, which she tearfully reciprocated. Hope wrapped her tiny blue arms around Willow's neck to join in on the love.

“That bunny's not getting her toy back, is she?" Willow muttered.

“I'm afraid not," John Dory admitted, making Willow cry some more. “I know, none of this is right. None of this should be happening. But that doesn't mean it won't get better."

Not part of the hug, Trollex looked up at Veneer and asked, “So, your one of those divas who tried to kill Floyd?"

“I had a change of heart and did my time," Veneer pointed out. “I'm a better person now. Watch!"

To prove he had changed, Veneer pulled the cage door open, letting the kids out.

“Viva? Floyd, are you there?" Willow spoke into her comm, to no response. “Viva! Floyd!"

“No need to thank me," Veneer bragged as a couple of the children climbed up his shoulders, giggling in a language he didn't understand. “Wait, what are you doing? Hey, watch the hair! Hey, ow! Someone, do something!"

“Sorry, the only other languages I speak are Spanish, French, and lobster," Trollex replied. John Dory just laughed as the kids horseplayed with the Mount Rageon.
