together

REYNA PULLED HER long, blonde hair into a messy ponytail and moved to grab a suitable outfit from her closet. It had started raining sometime between her text conversation with Anthony and the aftermath in which she sat contemplating on whether or not she should listen to his words.

She threw on her favorite pair of American Eagle jeans, a plain white shirt, her hooded cargo jacket, and her black ankle boots.

Reyna let out a sigh as she grabbed her purse and her keys, wondering if she was about to do the right thing by going and talking to Sebastian. She hadn't spoken to him in three weeks, and although that killed her inside, the very though of actually talking to him now made her feel sick to her stomach. She didn't want him to turn away from her again or not believe her when she tried to tell him about the situation regarding the picture of her and Chadwick. She wanted him to take her into his arms and hug the living shit out of her, and she wanted him to listen to her. She wanted him back, and she hoped that after going to see him she'd have just that.

Reyna hurried out of her apartment and down the hall to the elevator. She was so engrossed with her thoughts of Sebastian that she wasn't even aware the elevator had stopped in the lobby of her building until she was about to head up again with another resident. She quickly made her way out of the elevator before it could begin its ascent and ran out of her apartment complex, pulling her hood over her head to shield it from the rain.

It took about three minutes after stopping to buy donuts for Reyna to finally reach Sebastian's apartment complex. She ventured inside, greeting residents that had recognized her before heading over to the elevator. She stepped inside the moment the doors opened, and almost immediately she began to feel a pit in her stomach. She wasn't even sure if Sebastian was home; she had originally planned to text him, but she was afraid he would have ignored her, and she didn't want to feel the pain from him ignoring her again. If he was home and she came knocking, he had no choice but to face her.

Reyna walked slowly down Sebastian's hallway, a powdered donut from the box now in her hand. She finished the remnants of the donut the moment she made it to Sebastian's apartment, and she raised her hand to knock on the door. Part of her hoped he wasn't home so she could go back to her apartment and continue her movie, but the other part of her hoped that he was. She wanted to see him, she wanted to be near him, she wanted to hear his voice, and her need for that seemed to outweigh the want for him to absent from his home.

The door to Sebastian's apartment opened rather abruptly, tearing Reyna from her thoughts and startling her slightly. Sebastian's eyes widened slightly as he looked down at her, his grip tightening on his door knob behind him. Despite everything that had happened, he was quite happy to see her after not seeing her in so long. He had missed her more than anything, but at the moment he was wishing she could have chosen another time to make an appearance.

"Reyna, what are you doing here?" he asked her, his voice hushed slightly.

Reyna pursed her lips and pushed her way passed him and into his apartment, moving to his kitchen to sit her box of donuts down on his counter, as well as her keys and her purse. Sebastian quickly followed after her, glancing into the living room and feeling very relieved to find that it was still empty. "I came to talk to you," Reyna said with a shaky voice.

Sebastian furrowed his eyebrows in question, wondering what she could possibly have to say to him. He hoped, however, that whatever she had to say was in regards to their current situation with the picture of her and Chadwick that he now knew to be fake, though he also hoped that whatever she had to say was quick so he could send her on her way before things got ugly. "Talk to me about what?"

"This whole thing with me and you." Reyna sighed and pulled her hood from her head, "That stupid picture of me with Chadwick and me 'cheating' on you—none of it's true, Sebastian," she spoke quietly, playing with her fingers.

"I know," he replied, causing her to look up at him with a surprised expression on her face.

"W-what? I thought you didn't—you didn't believe me when I tried to tell you," Reyna frowned. "What the hell made you change your mind?"

Sebastian shrugged and leaned against the counter, glancing over his shoulder into his empty living room once more. "I got on Twitter a few days ago and saw the article E! posted to apologize to you, me, and Chadwick. I also saw the statement from the editor who made the picture in the first place."

"A few days? You've known for days and you didn't try to come talk to me about it?" Reyna questioned him, hurt in the tone of her voice. "Why wouldn't you come talk to me, Sebastian? I mean, I know I was at my parents' house, but a phone call or text message would have sufficed."

Sebastian ran a hand threw his hair, and he opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the sound of a door opening down the hall. Reyna's brows furrowed in confusion and stepped around Sebastian as she wondered who else could possibly be in his apartment with him, especially when it was brought to her attention that he had been been AWOL for the past three weeks, more so than she had been, apparently.

"Sebastian, where are you?" a familiar voice sounded, stopping Reyna in her tracks. A wave of anger flooded into the blonde's body as she looked back at Sebastian, not to mention a horribly intense sensation of hurt.

Sebastian let out a sigh and shook his head before moving past Reyna to greet the person that had intruded on his conversation with Reyna. Reyna followed behind him and stopped in the living room, where the woman she had never disliked so much in her life stood looking at her light a deer in headlights, much to her disbelief and her despair.

"Her?" Reyna said as she looked over at Sebastian, who had is arms crossed over his chest and a rather disgruntled expression across his face; he had never intended on letting this happen. "Is this why you never called or texted me after you found out? Was it because of her?"

Sebastian shook his head. "Reyna, it's not—"

"You left me because you thought I cheated on you when I didn't, yet you're here alone with this bitch who actually did?" Reyna cut him off, tears burning in her green eyes. "You claim that you love me so much—everyone claims that you love me so much—but you have a funny way of showing it."

Margarita stepped forward with a frown on her face; she didn't want Reyna to think something like that, as she knew it was far from the truth. Margarita knew just how much Sebastian cared about Reyna—she knew just how much Sebastian loved Reyna—and to hear her doubt that he did because of a simple misunderstanding made her a bit upset, on top of everything else going on with her at the moment. "Reyna, it really isn't what you think it is."

Reyna shot her a hard glare. "I don't believe I was speaking to you, rat."

Sebastian stepped forward in that moment, pushing Reyna back by her shoulders before she did something she would likely regret doing. "Listen to me, Reyna, please." Sebastian was now becoming upset as well as Reyna was. She was wrong about why he was even with Margarita in the first place, and if he had a choice he wouldn't be with her, but he didn't, and if Reyna would allow him to do so, he would explain to her why that was the case.

"No," Reyna responded as she pulled herself away from him, wiping the warm tears from her face as she did so. "Fuck you, Sebastian. I hope you have a nice life with her, because I sure as hell won't be around to see it."

Reyna walked away as quickly as she could, walking back into the kitchen to gather her purse and her keys before leaving the apartment. Sebastian ran a trembling hand over his face as he watched her go, the thought of losing her again sending a pang of hurt into his body. He looked back at Margarita with apologetic blue eyes, to which she responded with a reassuring smile. Sebastian ran out of his apartment after that and headed straight for the stairs.

Sebastian could not lose Reyna again, especially after almost losing her twice before. Despite everything that had happened between the two of them, she was the very love of his life, and there was no one else in the world who would ever mean as much to him as Reyna did. The very thought of losing her scared him to death, and he refused to allow it to happen again, especially over an issue she hand't allowed him to explain.

The moment Sebastian made it down to the lobby, he hurried out of the complex and stopped in front of the building, craning his head left and right to see if he could manage to spot his favorite blonde. Once he did, he ran after her, not even bothering to care that the heavy rain was beating down on him. He grabbed Reyna's arm the moment he approached her, and she spun around, her tear-filled green eyes meeting his blue ones.

Reyna opened her mouth to speak—to ask him what he was doing, but before she could even utter a word, Sebastian grabbed her face in his hands and pressed his lips to hers, almost as if to assure her that there was nothing going on between him and Margarita, and his actions only helped further convince her that that was the case. Reyna knew Sebastian, and she knew that if he was actually with Margarita he wouldn't think about cheating on her with anyone, even Reyna herself, no matter how horrible their relationship became or how horribly she treated him; that was just the kind of person he was.

"Why the hell is she in your apartment if you aren't together?" Reyna asked breathlessly once she had pulled away from him. "It doesn't make sense to me, Sebastian, and it just—it hurt me so much."

Sebastian sighed and pulled her to his body, wrapping his arms tightly around her. "I know, and I would've preferred you not finding out in this way."

"Finding out what?" Reyna mumbled against his damp shirt. It had slipped her mind that the two of them were currently standing in the middle of a rainstorm, but she couldn't bring herself to care much about it.

"I need you to know that after I saw the article and read that statement, I wasn't gonna text you or call you, but I was actually gonna head up to Congers to talk to you about it in person," he started, squeezing her tighter as if he were afraid she would disappear from him again. "I wanted you back, just I have been the past three weeks, but then Margarita showed up at my apartment just as I was about to leave, and she had some very startling news to tell me."

Reyna pulled away only enough to look up at him, her brows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean? What kind of news?"

Sebastian swallowed the lump in his throat and looked down at her, his eyes glazing over with fresh tears. "The news that she's pregnant."

Reyna's mouth parted at the sound of his words and she stepped away from him, averting her attention to the wet ground below. That was not at all what she had been anticipating to come out of his mouth. "She's p-pregnant?" Reyna asked as she glanced back up at him.

Sebastian only nodded and wiped his face.

"And it's yours? Is there any way at all it could be the other guy's?" Reyna asked him.

"I wish, honestly," he answered her. "I asked her the same thing, but she said she hadn't gone that far with him; she said that after I broke up with her, she ended things with him because she felt so bad for what happened with me."

Reyna shook her head as the information settled itself inside her. She knew what this meant for him, and she knew what this meant for her relationship for him, and that was not something she wanted whatsoever. "So, you're gonna be a dad. . .to your ex girlfriend's baby. And I get to be the girl who just stands by and watches as the woman she despises gets everything she ever dreamed of with the man she's in love with."

"No, no, no, no, no," Sebastian said quickly, taking a few steps forward to grab her in his arms once again. "You're not just gonna stand by and watch while all of this happens, okay? You're gonna be there for me, because I need you to be, and not as a best friend either, Reyna; I need you to be there as my girl, as the love of my life. Yes, Margarita and I may be having a child together, but that isn't going to change what you and I have with one another. To be completely honest, I doubt I'd be able to get through this whole 'being a dad' thing if I didn't have you, so please, stay with me. I need you to stay with me, Reyna."

Reyna's lip trembled as she once again tried to fight back her tears, and she nodded. Sebastian let out a sigh of relief and pulled her to him again, placing a kiss to the top of her head and wrapping his arms around her tightly.

Things were definitely not ideal for the two of them, but they were more than willing to make things work, and they were willing to do so for the sake of each other. Neither of them could imagine losing the other again—they couldn't handle the pain that came along with it—and if managing to find some way to deal with everything happening prevented that from happening, no matter how horribly difficult the task could prove be, then they would gladly take it on. As long as they remained together, they would be okay.

PLOT TWIST? I DON'T KNOW BUT PLEASE DON'T HATE ME FOR DOING THIS

IF YOU COULD, PLEASE SAY A LITTLE PRAYER FOR MINE AND savagesociety's HOMETOWN HERE IN VIRGINIA. WE'VE BEEN HIT BY THE WORST FLOOD WE'VE HAD SINCE 1985. SO MANY RESIDENTS HAVE LOST THEIR HOMES, WHILE SOME ARE STILL BARELY HANGING ON AS THE WATER CONTINUES TO RISE. TODAY HAS BEEN SO HECTIC WORRYING ABOUT EVERYONE AND DEALING WITH ACTUALLY EXPERIENCING SOMETHING SO HORRIBLE LIKE THIS, WHICH IS WHY I HAVEN'T UPDATED TODAY AS MUCH AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO. BUT YEAH, PLEASE SAY A PRAYER OR TWO. IT WOULD MEAN A LOT TO ME.
