i love you

REYNA AND SEBASTIAN both sat quietly on the couch in Sebastian's apartment—they had decided to change things up a bit. The TV played in the background, though neither of them were paying very much attention to what the screen was displaying. It was nearing one in the morning, and Reyna was half asleep, while Sebastian could only sit there and hold her, his grip around her tight as if he were afraid to let her go. He couldn't bring himself to go to sleep; he had spent two weeks sleeping, which to him could have been two weeks spent holding the love of his life in his arms. Instead, it was the other way around, and although he was sure Reyna's gesture had been loving, he also knew that it was done through the utmost fear and sadness that wracked her boy during those long couple of weeks.

Sebastian let out a sad sigh and squeezed Reyna tighter in his arms as he thought back on how horrible she must've felt because of the entire situation. He had never meant to let himself fall so deep, but he had done so anyway, and in doing so he had allowed the person he loved the most to live with the agonizing pain of potentially losing him. She lived in fear and sadness, and although Sebastian hadn't witnessed it, he had practically felt it when he first woke up to find her beside him. Her face was red and had been stained with tears, and her green eyes had been missing that particularly brightness he had come to love so much.

Reyna had stayed with him, though. His mom had told him she had been there by his side since he had been admitted to the hospital and had only left once during the two week time period. That touched hi and made him love her more than he already did, which he didn't think was close to being possible. He loved having her—he loved having someone he knew would always be there for him, regardless of what was going on. Reyna had been that someone for him for seventeen years, and part of him hated that it had taken so long for him to finally realize that. He would never be able to thank Reyna for being a part of his life the way he wanted to, but he would try by being the best he could be for her. He believed she deserved that much, if not more.

"What are you thinkin' about, Seb?" Reyna asked, her tone slightly groggy.

Sebastian removed himself from his thoughts and looked down at her, his blue eyes meeting her tired green ones. "You," he answered simply, a smile coming onto his face as he gazed down at her.

Reyna let out a tired breath and nestled her head into the crook of his neck, pulling her legs up to rest across his lap. "What about me?"

"I was just thinking about how glad I am to have you in my life—about how glad I am to have always had you in my life," Sebastian started, laying his head down on top of her own. "You're the one person in my life besides my mom who's stayed with me through absolutely everything; you're the one person I know I will always be able to count on. There will never be enough words in the world for me to use to express just how thankful I am that you were that person for me."

A small smile pulled at the corner of Reyna's lips at the sound of his words. "Well, I could say the same for you. You were the greatest friend I ever had, Sebastian Stan; you've always been there for me when I needed you to be. I still remember when you came home from college to watch me in a play at school just because I told you how nervous I was."

"I had to support my girl," Sebastian chuckled. "And it was the first play you were ever in; there's no way in hell I would've missed it."

Reyna yawned and moved her head to look up at him. "And it's because of that one play, and because of you, that I am where I am now. So, I guess I have you to thank, pretty much, for the person I've become today."

"But you're horrible. Please don't put that kind of blame on me," Sebastian remarked with a laugh.

"Shut up," Reyna chuckled. "I'm actually being serious. I honestly don't know where the hell I would be today if I hadn't met you. I'd probably be working in the back of some lonely office up in Congers with my dad waiting for someone to come set me free. And, yes, I know sometimes I complain about being in the spotlight and all, but I honestly wouldn't trade it for the world. It lets me know that I have you, and that's really all I could ever want out of life."

Sebastian smiled widely as he listened to her speak, his eyes glistening with an immense amount of love and admiration for the girl he held in his arms. "God, I love you so much, Reyna Foster."

Reyna smiled and raised her hand, placing it on the side of his face. "I love you, Sebastian Stan."

Sebastian responded by pressing his lips to hers in a longing and rather passionate kiss. The gesture alone was enough to send a fluttering sensation into his stomach, and that was a feeling that Leighton, or Jennifer, or even Margarita had never been able to conjure up inside him. Sebastian had never felt so strongly for anyone as he did for Reyna. She had elicited feelings inside him that he never even knew he could feel, let alone knew they existed. But he wouldn't trade those feelings for anything in the world, nor would he trade her for anything in the world. Reyna was his entire life, both figuratively and literally, and that was something he found would always remain true, no matter what their status with one another was.

"I hope you know that I'm never gonna let you go," Sebastian breathed out as he pulled away.

Reyna hummed in response and nestled herself against him once more. "Good, because I'm not letting you go either."

"Guess we're stuck with each other."

"I guess so," Reyna replied sleepily, letting out a quiet laugh.

Sebastian raised his hand to run it through her hair, his actions practically lulling her further and further into the realm of sleep.

"Someone's tired," Sebastian teased her.

Reyna let out a whine and held him tighter. "I'm sleepy."

All Sebastian did was chuckle and switch off the TV, and before long he was scooping Reyna up into his arms. She didn't protest at all, despite the fact that she was never one who really enjoyed being carried. She was much too tired to protest, and the likelihood of her making it to Sebastian's room on her own was very low, so she decided to just let him carry her to his room.

Sebastian placed Reyna down onto his queen-sized mattress, and she wasted no time at all in burying herself beneath the comforter. Sebastian smiled at her and got into bed himself, switching his lamp off before once again taking Reyna tightly into his arms.

"I love you, Seb," Reyna muttered quietly as she laid her head down onto his chest.

"I love you, Rey," Sebastian responded as he ran his calloused fingers gently along the soft skin of her arm. "I always have and I always will."

It wasn't long before the two of them were fast asleep, each of them wrapped tightly and lovingly in one another's arms.
