After four months of being separated, Dan wanted to message Phil. He still missed him, and he wanted him back.

So he did, he messaged him, just a simple 'Hey! X'

He immediately removed the exclamation mark and sent.

Phil's phone lit up as he got a text.

Hey X

It gave Phil a weird sense of déjà vu but he opened it and replied anyway,

Phil

Hey, i don't have this number saved, could you tell me who this is please?

That's when Dan's world came crashing down around him, Phil had moved on and completely forgotten him. He wasn't needed anymore, he was useless.

He didn't reply to Phil's message.

Instead he took those goddamn pills that were the cause and solution to all of his problems, and he simply went to bed.

He knew that ever afters don't exist, nothing lasts forever, and no one prefers black paper.

His story was ending the same way it started.

And he couldn't've thought of a worse end.
