"What now?" Dan asked, he knew Phil wouldn't take him back anytime soon but Dan needed him in his life.

Phil shook his head, "I don't know. You kinda ruined it."

"I know, but I can make it work, I promise."

"I hope," Phil said under his breath, hoping that Dan didn't hear him, if he did he didn't show any signs of it.

"I at least wanna be friends, for now?" Dan asked more than stated.

Phil nodded slowly, "yeah, me too,"

Dan took a few moments to process Phil's words before physically beaming at him, "you're serious?" Dan seemed really shocked.

"...yeah," he said cautiously, considering his words slowly.

It was completely dark now and Dan yawned, "are you tired?" Phil asked pointlessly.

"Duh," Dan replied sarcastically, rubbing his eyes like a small child.

"We'll walk to mine and I'll call a taxi for you,"

The walk home didn't seem long but Phil was shivering the whole way there due to the lack of sun. Dan had offered him a jacket several times but Phil declined. After a few minutes of talking Dan pulled out his phone and earphones and shared them between the two. Putting the music on shuffle they walked blissfully, hand in hand, through the dark and empty streets.

By the time they arrived at Phil's house his parents had already gone to bed and Dan laid down on the sofa.

"I'll just go get my phone,"

Dan just hummed sleepily in response, already falling asleep.

Phil ran up the stairs to get his phone and called the taxi but when he got back to Dan he was fast asleep. Phil took in the scene. His cheating ex-boyfriend had fallen asleep on his sofa after he had held his hand the entire way to his house and all Phil could do was stare. It wasn't often he got to see Dan's natural hair but god was it amazing. Dan hated his hair but Phil loved it, it had personality.

He sighed and re-dialled the number, "hi, uh, yeah I just ordered a taxi that needs to be cancelled," he waited for a reply, "yeah that's it, thanks!"

Before going to sleep himself he brought his duvet down and covered Dan's small body up. He looked at the boy in front of him. He looked angelic. He sighed before retrieving another duvet and laying down on the carpet.

"Goodnight Dan," he whispered, even though no one could hear him.
