"What?" Just a whisper left Dan's lips.

"Dan, come on. I thought you wanted us to be together. You can't keep secrets like this."

"I know. I know. Okay, I was on a date, with this guy, Alex, but it didn't really work out," he explained.

Dan moved to cross his legs and was picking at his nails. He wouldn't make direct eye contact and was currently staring at Phil's knees.

"Did you see him a lot?" Phil was staying surprisingly calm.

Dan shook his head honestly. He had only been on three proper dates with Alex but he had talked to him a few times beforehand. He wasn't interesting and always smelled of smoke. He was attractive. His black hair complemented his azure blue eyes. Thinking about it, he looked a lot like Phil.

Phil nodded his head, "why didn't you tell me?"

"I thought you'd be mad, I mean we'd just made up," Dan shrugged.

Phil sighed, "alright, that's fine."

Dan squinted, "was that a 'fine' fine, or was it a 'fuck you' fine?"

"It was a 'fine' fine," Phil giggled breathily, "you weren't mine, I couldn't control who you were seeing."

"I am now." Dan wrapped his arms around Phil's neck and placed his forehead on Phil's carefully, " and I hope I always will be." he added, before cupping his chin and pulling him in for a kiss.

Phil pulled away, "you will," he reassured, pecking Dan on his nose, "I love you."

"I love you too."
