Awakening

This shall be a chapter for a contest I entered it, I plan on doing more contest and I need to have a range in my stories anyhow. Also for those who follow my other story, is why I took a bit to update.

The light glimmers, as if dancing around silently before the sun fades fully in the distance inside a damp, small and dull room which held nothing but a pedestal holding a five feet and four inch girl whose skin was as white as snow and blonde hair adorning her face. The being's eye slowly started to move  but blinded a little by the dim light entering the room. After half an hour of struggling to move her muscles, she finally sat up feeling sore.

"......" The being attempted to speak but only a small squeal escaped her lips that was barely auditable. "Why can't I speak, might be cause my throat feels so dry, hopefully some water will help sooth my throat. Now the question is, who and where am I? Why am I naked and... why does my lower abdomen hurt?" She finally inspected herself and her surroundings, finding a medium size rock growing moss and scraps of rags lying on the floor nearby.
"seems that boulder might have fallen on me in my- coma, wonder if that's the source of my pain. Might as well use what's left of those rags and see if I find answers outside." The albino female struggled to stand while using the wall to lean on as she put on the rags that are now dull and filled with holes that barely covered parts of her body. She eventually moved to find an exit, discovering some secrets on her way.
"It's cold, guess it's- what's the word... snowing was it, least it's only snowing lightly." She finally looked outside before her hand rested against a cold metal pole. "What-what is this, is this a metal bar? Were they keeping me as a- a, damn it what's the word... prisoner. No why would I be a prisoner, perhaps I was someone important and I needed to be kept safe."
Once her eyes started to adjust to the darkness outside, she saw that she was in the middle of nowhere with a few skeletons on the grounds with spears lodged inside them whe piles of rubble dotted her visible area that wasn't covered by trees. "Yes, it seems I was vital to someone but why isn't there anyone? Wish I could remember but why can't I, no point in wondering on the past, might as well explore now." Off in the distance were the first signs of sunlight, the peace and quiet of the forest was quickly replaced with the chatter of birds and scampering of small animals.
"Hello hello hello, who may you be and I've never seen someone like you, did you get trap in some vines or something, I ask because of that brown thing around you." A small bird flew from one of the trees and onto her shoulder, looking curiously at the rags which mostly was just small patches that allowed those to understand how she looked in her true nudity.
Unable to speak, she held her throat and showed signs of her trying to speak. "How can I understand this bird? I at least hope it'll take me water to rehydrate my throat."
"Are you mute, does your throat hurt, if that's the case, let's go to a stream nearby."

With the shake of a head from the being, the small bird lead her slowly to a thin flowing stream nearby, cooled by the snow that recently had fallen but hidden by thick pine trees. Once they arrived, the being took a large sip of water and attempt to speak to the small bird.

"T-tha-ank you." Just auditable, the female spoke in a very hoarse voice.
"Woah lady, your voice sounds like you haven't used it since last year at least, do you even know who you are?" Scared from her unexpectedly frightening voice, the bird flew to a twig nearby. She just shook her head in response.   "Fine, well your skin is very white and without whatever is around you, you hide well in the snow so I shall call you snow for your skin."
"Snow, am I really that pale that I hide in the snow? At least now I have something to identify myself, yes snow, at least now I'm something." Reaching out her hands, the bird flew back to her.   "Your name?"
"My name is Emerald for the emerald streak on my head, it really does stand out against my brown body. No good, no good I tell you when trying to hide.

In the distance, the sound of drum like foot steps started to grow louder, accompanied by the sound of laughter, shouting, all with a hint of anger in the mix.

"No no no, no good, they're coming, I must leave now, I wish the best of luck to you but each creature to their own!" Quickly the bird flew away until it was no longer seen.
"Who is he talking about, they can't be bad with all the laughter, can they?"

The sound grew louder until it was clear that they would quickly find Snow.

"WAIT!" A group of seven people were quickly held back by the tallest of the seven. "There might be someone here boys."
"How do you know Gorm?" The shortest of the group spoke.
"Wichtel, be quiet but I heard someone's voice worse than a banshee's scream." Gorm moved forward before his eyes widen as he saw the strange outline of Snow who was holding ice against her lower abdomen. "Hey! You there! What is your name if you even have one and who are you?!?" Gorm finally confronted her but had to look up due to being shorter than her.
"Hi- I'm Snow " her voice was still raspy but clearer than before but still needing to pause. "I do not- know who I am- or where I came from. I also do not know why- my lower abdomen hurt- please help."
"Gorm, have some respect and look away. We can see her as if she was naked." All the others were looking away, shielding their eyes with their hands but taking peaks to observe the strange being.
"Well, Snow, was it? You do not know who you are and you want us to help you, I will need to ask my boys if they want to take you in but don't think you don't need to pull your own weight." Looking back, he saw all the others nodding their heads in agreement.
"Of course- and I see all your boys- are in agreement but- by any chance you have cloths?"
"Yes we have a makeshift sewing machine and some yarn from the sheep we have herded so you can have whatever you can make."
"Thank you- you have been kind." She bowed her head slightly to show her gratitude.
"Before we go to leave you in out house, meet the boys." Quickly they lined up from tallest to shortest. "I'm Gorm and this is Knirps, Niffel, Quarx, Querx, Schrat, and Wichtel. Now let's get going so you can get out of those rags, the boys won't get anything done with you like that."

Grabbing the hand of Gorm, she followed them to their home which was a couple kilometers northwest from the tower she once laid in. Finally they arrived a mess of a house with stone bricks making up the side of the house which the wind blew from and the rest of the walls created by fallen tree logs. To the side was a walled in area with farm animals and sticks facing outward to keep wolves away.

"Yeah, yeah I know it's not pretty but when we're the only ones, we have to do anything that's the best for the group."
"Thank you Gorm- anything shall do and- I must say that- you have done a good- job of taking care of- the boy. Sorry if I pause- often, my voice hurts- to speak a lot without rest."
"Wichtel, show her around the place like where to sew some cloths for herself, nothing will get done if yall keep staring. Knirps and Niffel please go store the meat and berries before they go bad. Everyone else, either clean up the place or get ready to go back to hunting." After waiting patiently, the boys started to moan and groan since they were jealous of Wichtel being the one to show Snow around.
"Come on boss, Wichtel barely helps in the hunts, let me show her around since I'm the second tallest!"
"Quiet Knirps and everyone else, I've made up my mind so stop complaining and do your work, the faster we return, the sooner you can hang with Snow!"
"Haha, the boys seems to be- something else Gorm. I hope the hunt goes- well, I'll stay and sew."
"We don't need luck, we're skilled hunters but you can also use some leather for your cloths, just follow Wichtel and be careful, he's a trickster. If you need me, I'll be sharpening and cleaning my spear before we go on the hunt."

The boys quickly got to work with Wichtel being the happiest since he got to take the almost bare skin Snow around while the others worked. Eventually the boys finished sharpening their swords, emptying out and storing their food, they went back out to scavenge what they can and bring home food and fire wood. Snow stayed behind to create an outfit of her own, it wasn't until when the sky started to turn orange with the setting of the sun did the same laughter was heard which signified the arrival of the hunters.
"What you think?" Snow was now covered in several pieces of black leather crisscrossing her torso in a X formation while the rest of her torso still showed. Below her waist was leather wrapped around which covered her pelvic and stripes of black wool starting to hang off the leather. "I'm still not done but I can say I've made some headway on my cloths but hopefully it'll last once I finish it."
"You have done great work I must say Snow, yes you have and I can possibly help sew with you. We shall make you like a beautiful queen together."
"Querx don't try because she would obviously prefer me, the older and taller twin Quarx." They noticed Snow giggling softly. "What's so funny Snow?"
"You two are funny- I'm sorry to break it to you- I enjoy sewing alone. Also thank you for- your hospitality but at most- I see you guys as family."
"Told you!" Gorm shouted from from the equivalent of a kitchen which connected to the bed room.
"Shut it Gorm" The twins said in unison
"Well get back to work, I'll let you two make a bed for her to sleep on while be and Niffel makes some medicine for her throat."

The twins quickly got to work on creating a place for her to rest one which consisted of a couple blankets and a rag stuffed with wool that laid near the fireplace in the living room. Eventually they returned to work inside the house until the sun set and the darkness consumed the wilderness to signify that it was time for a new day to approach soon. One by one, the brothers went to sleep while Snow struggled with many thoughts but eventually did.

  Antiology
A/N: I finally got the first chapter done with edits. This is a short story for a contest I entered that's being judge by Antiology, I have two more chapters planned and the theme of it was mystery so one chapter wouldn't have done it just. Also yes, this is based off of some famous Disney movies, well the original versions of them. Also the names for the hunters were the names for them in a German adaptation of snow white.
Finally, I hoped ye enjoyed and and tips are always welcomed
