Naruto strolled along the Konoha village boarders his fox ears twitching now and again at the sound surrounding him. He was near the entrance, the ninjas guarding asleep. He smirked and snickered to himself.

"Idiots." He said as he did his own fox paw signs as with a poof he became human.

The only reason why he would transform into one of their kind is because he could do his pranks for better than in his fox form. Other than that, he would never turn into a nasty rude human. Especially not one of those villagers that throw rocks at him for coming to close to their food. It wasn't his fault he wanted to play. And even if he did transform, his ears one tail out of nine would still be out. Along with whisker marks along his cheeks, and that's not all, his nails were sharp and slightly long.

Going forward with silent feet he grabbed a big leaf from out of nowhere and filled it up with water. He tied the leaf on a string, dangling it over each fo the ninjas head. He was about to cut the rope with a sharp nail when a voice cut him off.

"What are you doing dobe?" An annoying voice said from over the gate.

A small black cat lay there, his matching dark stormy eyes piercing the fox's red ones. He swung his tail back and forth slowly as he looked towards the prankster fox.

Quickly waking up, the guards started shouting at Naruto, telling him to scram and not come back. In a matter of seconds he bolted, not wanting to be hit by any pebbles. He came to a halt, still in his human form. He climbed up a tree and saw the black cat from before, a smirk on it's lips.

"Ne, Sasuke, why do you always get in my way?!" Naruto said with a scowl.

"I don't want you tormenting the humans any more than wanting you in my home."

"Whatever teme." Naruto said as he laid back.

"Why are you still in that disgusting form. I can barely look at you without throwing up." He glared at Naruto.

Sasuke wouldn't admit it, but he liked Naruto's human form, although his fox form was his favorite. And seeing in poof back made him want to purr in delight. He didn't though, because he was a noble breed of cat, he was supposed to act high and mighty.

"Even though you mess with my pranks I still like you." Naruto said, suddenly in front of the black cat, the blanch he was on connected the wall and the tree, making it even more wonderful to tease the domestic cat.

"Sh-shut up!" Sasuke said as he flushed red, he scurried off away as he went though his thoughts.

The next day was mostly the same, Naruto teased Sasuke about his undying love for the cat. He was being completely serious, but sadly the cat didn't believe him. Sasuke didn't want to get his hopes high and embarrass himself in front of the fox. So he just shrugged off the words as if they too were pranks of the mischevious Naruto.

But one day Naruto didn't come one day, it wasn't unusual to Sasuke, especially since he didn't come one day to prank the villagers. Sasuke shrugged it off, thinking he went to another village to prank before coming back like usual. The week went by slowly for Sasuke, his thought coming back and forth from the fox, his fox. He sighed as he sat on his expensive bed.

"What's the matter otouto?" His brothers words broke him from his mind.

"Nothing aniki, I was thinking about what to do today."

"Is that code for, 'I miss my cute fox?'" Itachi said with a chuckle at the blush Sasuke had.

"Shut up! Get out!" Sasuke hissed at his older brother, making Itachi laugh as walked out the cat door and I to their back yard to stretch his legs.

"Baka." Sasuke whispered with a pout as his thought yet again were filled with those beautiful red eyes.

And that's how the days went, pondering and missing Naruto dearly. That week arrived at went, soon three month had passed and there was still no sign of Naruto. Even the villagers were starting to think about where their little fox had gone, guilt ridiculing them at how bad they had treated the fox. Sasuke was depressed, even the teasing from Itachi couldn't snap him out like it usually did to make his little brother turn a crimson shade.

And then one morning happened, the guard were woken up by water splashing onto them and a foxy laugh following after. In front of the guards stood their famous fox, they grew angry but amusement and happiness made them laugh with Naruto. Which cause the fox to stop at the sudden switch of emotions. What had happened to the guards? We're they out of their mind? Surely they were replaced by imposters. But it wasn't that at all. The entire village had become even more quiet since his absence and they were becoming very sad with non being pranked of the loud ruckus Naruto would create.

The guards kneeled down and held out a hand for the fox, motioning for the fox to come forth. Not sensing any danger Naruto walked forward as both guards ruffled his fur.

"Where have you been Naruto?" One guard said as he grinned at the little fox. "We missed our little prankster, the whole village does."

"I went on a vacation, even pranksters needed a break!" Naruto responded with a grin and the guard laughed and opened the gates for the fox to greet the villagers.

"Hey everyone guess who's back?!" The the other guard shouted with happiness, one which warmed Naruto.

"Who is it?"

"What are they talking about?"

Whispers were heard as they were clearly confused, but their confused faces turned into surprise when they saw Naruto slowly creeping into the village. This was the first time he had been inside the village with permission, he would usually sneak in then get kicked out.

The store owners and villagers erupted with happiness at seeing the fox and gave him many fruits and vegetables they could give to the fox. They would even scold him for leaving without telling them anything. He apologized with a grin and promised next time he would definitely tell them. Everyone stepped back and watched as an older woman come forward a small smile on her lips. He squared down and looked at Naruto.

"We aren't the only ones that missed you, your little cat friend was much more saddened by your dissapearence." She said as her and the fest of the villagers looked to down the road to see Sasuke walking slowly and depressed, his head won along with his ears. "Go to him dear."

"Hai, oji-sama." Naruto said as he walked away from them, although they still kept a watch from afar as they sold their fruits and meats.

"Oi teme, why so glum?" Naruto said playfully as sat on the road to catch Sasuke's attention.

And he did, very much so. Sasuke whipped his head upwards as he heard his fox's voice when he was kicked out of the house by his older brother to get some fresh air. His eyes watered at the sight of him, his fox. He broke in a run and tackled at fox, well as much as he could since he was smaller than the red fox. He cried as the villagers smiled sweetly at the interaction.

"What's with the tears? I was only gone for a while." Naruto said chuckling and rubbing his snout with Sasuke as he sobbed.

"Baka! Where have you been?!" Sasuke hissed out his tears still streaming. "I was so lonely. I-I wanted to see you Naruto!"

"Can I take that as a confession?" Naruto joked as he liked at the ravened cat's nose.

"Yes, you can, you can take however you like, just don't leave me again!" Sasuke said as he cuddled closer, not wanting to leave, just in case he were to leave again.

"Carefully with your words Sasuke, I'll take up on that offer. How about a date? To make up for what I did." Naruto said as he petted the cat with his paw, a purr erupting and Naruto chuckled.

"I'd like that." Sasuke said as he smiled into Naruto's fur.
