Chapter 4
"Hello miss." I said to her as I waved.
"Sir coal, are you perhaps the one who killed all the goblins out there?"
"Yes. Is there a problem?"
"Oh... umm no it's nothing i was just asking."
"Is that right?" As I observed her, I saw her emotion go from surprise to fear.
"You don't have to look like that. I'm not gonna harm you or anything." I say as she looks at me and nods.
"You... When I first met you, you were wearing my comrades' stuff. But you leave and come back with a whole different set of armor and weapons."
"Well that was because right around where the goblins were, there was a whole array of armor and weapons with no people in sight. Well I guess there was one person. But he was getting eaten by orcs. What did he say again? Leave the dungeon he said?" Aero looked at me with a shocked expression as she started to think.
"Sir coal, I think we might have to leave this dungeon immediately."
"Oh and why is that?" I asked her while still fiddling with my sword.
"If you did see orcs and goblins and I was fighting kobolds, this dungeon is atleast a B rank dungeon. And how my comrades died too."
"How did they die? I noticed that I did not see any flesh wounds or anything."
"Well we triggered a trap and a toxic gas was unleashed. Thankfully for me, I had an artifact that gave me immunity to poison for 1 hour. And after that I ran to where we are now."
"And why does that correlate with us leaving this dungeon."
"From kobolds, orcs and goblins, with the variety of monsters here, it means this is a breeding ground for monsters or a meeting place for monsters. And in each situation, there is a king of these monsters who reign over them. Why do you think the monsters don't fight each other but attack all intruders?"
"Hmm, is that right? Fine. Even if we wanted to, how would we leave this place?"
"We would have to either go to the entrance and exit from there or the much riskier route but also probably the easiest will be to fight the boss and take over this dungeon."
"I don't know about the first one but the second one i like." As I said this, aero giggled to herself as I became a bit shy. In the middle of our interaction, I suddenly felt a sharp feeling in my spine. Looking around, I didn't see anything. But I knew something was here. So I closed my eyes and focused on the mana around me. Like that, I felt a life presence totalling to around 500.
[You have developed skill: mana sense]
[Mana sense] lvl: 1 (1%) : When using this skill, you will be able to sense all mana around you.
Seeing how I got a new skill, I decided to try it out now. And... I was wrong. 1000? 1500? And the shapes of them look like golems. It would also seem like I'm not the only one who sensed these golems. Aero grabbed onto my arms as I can tell she was focusing on something. I stood up as aero stood up as well. Seeing no way out of this without a fight, I decided to attack first. I summoned two big balls of mana and added the fire element. I added as much mana as I can without it blowing me and aero up. I launched the ball as it split up into 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024. 1024 flame balls were sent. As they made contact with the golem or the ground, It exploded. A very pretty and massive explosion happened. And with each golem also exploding, it looked like a massive firework. Seeing how that took a toll on my mana, I ran in but hesitated. Can I leave aero by herself?
"It's fine sir coal. I can defend myself. "
I nodded as I activated heavy blade and mana armor. I destroyed 3 golems with one swing and as my mana regenerated, I sent just normal mana missiles. Elemental mana missiles were very mana consuming. And did too much area damage for close quarter battle. One thing I did notice was that these golems are more weak to magic damage. And these golems are endless. Seeing no way out of this, I jumped up and sent 50 fire elemental magic missiles. After I came back down, I got punched and was sent flying into the wall. I recovered very quickly and got on my feet. With this altercation, I suddenly got a brilliant idea. I ran in as I swung my sword and 30 golems died in front of me. My own unique skill: Fire elemental imbued sword attack. My sword glowed a deep red and since it was enhanced with a magic crystal as well, it did a lot of magic damage. I guess this is why I am a magic knight. I started swinging my sword wildly but it did more damage to me than them. The fire on my sword was very hot. So hot in fact that even with the king's resistance,I actually took burn damage. Which was unfortunate. So I had to quit using fire. But there were other elements I could use. So I experimented. Seems like water elements use the weight of the water. Like heavy waves. Electricity uses purer power and obviously electricity. Which does not seem to affect the golem at all. Fire is obviously combustion and flames. Earth was an interesting one. Every time I struck the golem, there was earth infested into the golem and it slowly turned them into rocks. Aside from that it just made the blade heavier. There was also the element of light and dark but i couldnt use it sadly. And 3 hours later and depleting my mana to a critically low level, I killed the last golem. I fell down as I just wanted to rest my bones. Surprisingly even with this bone body, it was very human-like. Well in some aspects. For example, since I became a skeleton, I can not feel pain. But I can still get tired.
After absorbing some mana crystal and using some heal skill, aero came over to where I was. I wonder what she did. From what I remember, she couldn't even fight a few small kobolds. Looking at her now, she had a few scratches and a few bruises but nothing too much. She probably got the scratches from running away or falling since the golems didn't do any piercing damage.
In aeros perspective, after seeing coal leave, aero decided to use the battle ground in her advantage. These golems were slow and heavy, so aero decided to position herself higher than the golems. And as the battle proceeded, she continued to just rain down fire balls after fire balls. Thankfully for her, Most of the golem was fighting coal so she only had to deal with a hundred or two. After all, she wasn't fit for a fight of endurance and stamina. But she was confident in her mana capacity and mana recovery. Though she didn't really look at coal while in battle, just by looking at the corpses of golems next to him, she knew that he was not a man to mess with.

Why is it that everytime i fight, the fight gets more dangerous and harder? Am I not getting stronger? But I know that I am. Is the dungeon toying with me? I waved my worries away as I moved myself somewhere else. Resting against a corpse of a golem, I looked at my stats as I realised this time it went up by a huge sum. Same with the skills. As I was looking at my stats, Aero came over and sat down next to me.
"Not to interrupt your rest but we are in deep shit."
"Yeah I could tell. This dungeon boss... we are going to have to find him and kill it soon if not now."
"Sir the skill you used to find the golems, you think you can do that but in a long area radius."
"I can try but I don't guarantee that it will work."
After a quick rest and devouring some mana crystals, I stood in the middle of the battle field as I activated mana sense.
[Mana sense] lvl: 4 (79%) : When using this skill, you will be able to sense all mana around you.
As he activated this skill, he saw the world in a colorless state. He saw the mana inside the aero in much more detail than before. As he expanded the ring, his mastery for the skin raised. Perhaps using your skill in an out of the box way raises proficiency. As I was doing this, I felt the expansion of the circle slow down and the details fade away. As I was doing this for 10 minutes, I saw something mesmerizing. An entire labyrinth full of traps and hidden monsters. I tried remembering the way and cancelled the mana sense. As I did, I fell down from exhaustion. Turns out going miles and miles with the mana sense can be very exhausting. I fell down as me and aero decided our strategy.
"So why do you want to live so badly?" I asked Aero.
"Well... i do have a husband and kids waiting for me back at my hometown so i guess i'm fighting so hard for them." She talked with a bitter smile. I looked at her as I saw a weird type of complexion on her face. I got up as we started heading towards the labyrinth.
