In one mission Ryder, Chase, Marshall and Skye were saving a group of mountain goats. Skye found a place where all group was staying and Chase used his winch to get all goats up. But in one moment one of the saved goats decided to bump into Chase like "Thank you". The strength was quite too high and Chase fell from the cliff and miracolously survived and got in heavy coma. Marshall quickly delivered him to the hospital. On next day Chase woke up.

1 day earlier

Doctor: I'm sorry Mr.Ryder, but injuries are critical. Chase won't walk for the rest of his life. But if we will find something to recover him from this, we will call you, OK? Just don't get sad.

Ryder: I don't know how to thank you.

Doctoc: Ohh it's nothing. We do our best to feel patient happy.

Present day

Skye was sitting in her puphouse with straight face. She still hasn't moved on after incident 2 days ago: Chase, her crush became handicapped. At same point Zuma, knowing that now Chase has no chances to ask Skye out did the same thing by himself. Skye got a dilemma, which her heart and brain were solving: brain was telling her to accept it and have a good future life, instead of being married to disabled pup. Heart was telling her otherwise: without support from close pup Chase will feel even worse, so she should hold her feelings to police pup in herself and not throwing them away. Unfortunatelly when time of thinking has ran out and Zuma was walking to Skye to hear the answer, Chase accepted that without ability of walking he will be useless for Skye and gave up. Ryder and pups were shocked about this move. Even Ryders words about solution to get him back on feet didn't help. 

Zuma: Sooo, what is your answer? Chase gave up and know you don't have a chance to hold acception to my feelings to you.

Skye: Wait wait wait! On what Chase gave up?

Zuma: That you won't feel the same way because of his lost ability to walk.

Skye (sighs mournfully): Yes. I will go out with you. (thoughts): I'm so sorry Chase, but I'll be here for you.

Zuma: Great. Now let's visit Chase.

Skye: Stop!! So you want to insult Chase more?! Despite he already thinks that he is useless?! I'm already regretting that I accepted your offer.

Chase (softly): No. You shouldn't.

Zuma: Wait! Skye, you're so lucky, because I will give you another chance to decide who you prefer.

Skye: Chase... You... You needn't to give up like this.

Chase (softly): I'm sorry, but you should date Zuma. I want you to be happy. And remember: if you will get some problems, I'm always here for you.

Skye: Ok.

Zuma: Thank you very much Chase for your choice. Now we should go.

Skye: Yeah, we should.

They walked away while Chase fell asleep.

4 months later 

Skye and Zuma were getting married and all pups with Ryder were getting on with prepaprations. Well, except for Chase: he was still laying in his puphouse, being unable to walk. Still Skye remembered his words: "I'm always here for you" and she often visited him to get some advice, which Chase had planned to use if he would have dated her. Zuma however told Chase to stay away from her, which sounded ridiculous: Chase couldn't be close to Skye because he couldn't walk. But something was flooding in Skyes mind: Chase helped her and surprisingly Zuma with many things in their relationship, but what he got in response? Correct: nothing! This what Skye was thinking when Ryder snapped off from thoughts.

Ryder: Well, all decorations are ready. Rings too, food menu also and guests list is also completed. We are ready for your wedding.

Skye: Ryder... I can't.

Ryder: What do you mean you can't?

Skye: I feel... bad. Not myself, for someone.

Ryder then realzied what Skye was talking about. He hugged aviator pup tightly as she whimpered a little.

Skye: Being disabled to walk and do missions, he helped me and Zuma with our relationship, making it perfect. But he feels so useless, I can't stand it.

Skye ran from building to Chases puphouse not because of checking if he's OK, not even because of Zuma doesn't see what is she doing. Because she wanted to be here for him. She arrived to his puphouse only to see Chase sleeping quietly on his back. Skye entered the puphouse and laid carefully beside Chase.

Skye (whishpers): You were here for me for 4 months. Now it's my turn to be here for you.

She snuggled into Chase and drifted off to sleep. 2 hours later Zuma arrived after his mission to find a good tuxedo for wedding and saw his future wife sleeping with Chase. He decided to wake up Skye and talk with her about her strange behaviour. But remembering how Chase helped him through past 4 months he dedcided not to do it. Suddenly Rocky came to him.

Rocky: Are you ok?

Zuma: Yeah. 

Rocky: You seems to be... confused or something.

Zuma: It's just about how Chase helped me through while me and Skye were dating. I told that he is useless because of being unable to walk. But not knowing this he showed me that he is not useless. He trully deserved her.

Rocky: Kinda feel bad for taking Skye away from him?

Zuma: Feel bad for making him feel useless. He was always here for me, for Skye, for us both. He should marry her not me.

Rocky: So... no wedding?

Zuma: Yep. I decline it.

Rocky: Got it. I will call Ryder.

Rocky walked away to call Ryder while Zuma looked again at Chase and Skye and smiled.

Zuma: You will feel better with him than with me. And he really needs you right now. Get well soon dude.

1 month later

Doctors had informed Ryder that they got everything to get Chase back on feet, which was the best news after Zumas news, that Skye is officaly Chases girlfriend. Chase was operated two days later after revealing the news and 5 days later after opeartion he was discharged and Skye was waiting from him with his police cruiser. Finally she saw Chase exiting the hospital with Ryder and ran to her boyfriend.

Skye: Chase!! You're finally back on track (hugs him tightly).

Chase: Hey! Not too tight, but I'm glad to see you! (hugs her)

Skye (hugging him): I was so worried about you. I couldn't forget your words about being here for me.

Chase (hugging her): Thank you... for being here with me. Without you... I wouldn't survive to operation.

Skye (hugging him): You're welcome (kisses his cheek). Now let's go. I have planned all day to spend time with you after operation.

Chase: Let's go then.

Ryder and Skase sat on their vehicles, Skye on police cruiser and drove back to the Lookout. The end!!
