Catherine Parr- Surprise (c)
Silently you entered the room to see the woman you loved sat upon her windowsill, looking out to the world around. You weren't attempting to sneak up on her, but you couldn't help but lovingly look at her without her knowledge of you being there. It was beyond you as to why she was looking out of the window in her chambers, but the morning glow accentuated her beauty and you couldn't complain at seeing her look even more perfect than you saw her every day.
"Catherine," you said softly, not wishing to startle her.
She turned her head to see who called her name, seeing you in her doorway, a warm smile curling upon her lips as she noticed you.
"Y/N," she grinned, jumping from the windowsill so that she could rush across the room to your side.
As soon as she was in arms reach, she pulled you into a warm embrace, pressing her lips to yours. Any moment that you got to spend with Catherine was perfect and now wasn't any different. Even if it was just a moment in her arms, your heart managed to melt, unable to contain the happiness that you felt.
"I've missed you, my love," she smiled, moving her hand to cup your cheek.
"I've missed you too."
You appreciated the moment you had with her, letting her gentle touch linger upon your cheek. After a moment, you both moved to sit down on the edge of her bed, not straying from the close contact.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, not caring about the reason, just wanting to have you there instead.
"My father has business in town, I insisted I must join him. He knows no more of our relationship past friendship but appreciates that I am a dear friend of the ex-wife of the King," you shrugged. "I do not know how many days I will have with you, but I was just glad to surprise you."
Catherine took your hands within hers, squeezing them gently.
"I hope it is a long while but even if we only have today, I am appreciative of the time I get to see your face," she said softly. "I love receiving your letters but having you by my side is far better."
You nodded your head in agreement. "Hopefully my father will need to visit the area more frequently, then we shall get more time together."
"I do hope so."
