Part Nine Jordie

He looked sick. He felt sick, but not dying sick. He felt nervous. What would Kaz do without him? Would he die? He was in a room. A blank, white, large room. Nothing was there. It was blank.

"Hello Jordan," he turned around to the voice. A man and a young girl. "Why don't you sit down." Then a chair appeared. "Let me explain,"

There he was. Right in front of him. After so many years. His brother. Kaz was here with him after so long. They were reunited. He had looked in the mirror to check up on him, but after a few years it proved to be nothing but a reminder that he would never see him again. He was wrong. He was here. As the rest of his little group dealt with Rosalie and that other guy he looked to Kaz.

"What are you planning, little brother?"

"Whatever do you mean?"

"Haha, I can tell you're up to something. I want in." Kaz turned to Jordie. A glint in his eyes.

"I'm going to rescue Matthias Helvar, destroy the Darkling's hold on the afterlife, and come back to life. How's that for something?"

"Quite impressive, Kaz. The question is how are you going to do all of that? Especially the coming back to life one?"

"I'm sneaky enough. Also you can return to life pretty easily if you haven't even died in the first place."

"Very funny Kaz, being without me sure gave you a sense of humor. You're here after all."

"I've changed a lot, Jordie, I've got connections to escape here. Plenty of them." Jordie clicked his teeth.

"Well. Dirtyhands, I suppose I'll just have to wait and see,"

"What are you two whispering over there!?" Marie shouted to them.

"Why should I explain!" Kaz called back. It wasn't a question. Jordie noted his directness for not wanting to be direct. He didn't like sharing. "What are we going to do with Rosalie?" He asked Jordie.

"One second." Jordie pulled out a gun from his bag. The gun had the initials R.O. It was Rosalie's. He walked over to her quickly and put the gun in her mouth and shot.

Bang.

She slumped on the floor. There was no blood. She was just "dead". Jordie picked her up and threw her over her shoulder.

"Come on," he said to all of them. Marie's face was one of massive confusion.

"What. The. Fuck?" She exclaimed. Jordie rolled his eyes.

"Oh, relax. She'll get better... eventually. We just need to hide her body for a while. Give her some time to cool down." Jordie looked to Kaz. He seemed stunned. He stood there unblinking, but then his blank face melted into a conflicted look.

"Jordie, we can't be reckless. Oosterhuis has allies and they will notice that she's gone. Where can we hide the body and who can we pin this on?"

"That's obvious, Muzzen," Jordie said. "He was seen with her recently and he's known to have a grudge." the corner of Kaz's lips poked up slightly. Not wide enough to be considered a smile. It wasn't negative so it couldn't be a grimace. It was sort of a strained grin.

"You're absolutely right."

Muzzen had to go down. He would jeopardize everything they had worked for there, he had only been there a day and already he had to pin a murder on someone. God how time has slowed, he needed to plan as soon as possible or he would be stuck here for real. Death with these fools so soon didn't seem like a good way to spend your afterlife.

"What will we do?" Marie muttered. "We're going to become friends." Jordie scoffed.

"Relax, that only happens to repeat offenders and I practically run this place. She will be revived this isn't permanent."

"Sankts, we are going to die if you can't get along," Fedyor said.

"We're already dead, Fedyor, at least when we were alive the pain could stop." Alexei rolled his eyes. Kaz clicked his teeth. He only had Alexei and maybe Jordie to be willing to do the risky shit. The rest were weak. Kaz looked to Mikhael who was looking very methodical. No one here was on the same level as his old team. He was lucky he didn't need people to do the things that Jesper and Wylan needed to do. Well, ok finding someone to replace Wylan would be somewhat easy, but he didn't want to tell anymore people about this.

"I think it's time we start working on the plan," Fedyor said.

"I'm not even sure I wanna be a part of this." This was Mikhael. "You still haven't explained what we are evening doing to me!" He was right, Jordie distracted him. He hadn't even gotten Mikhael on board, but after his behavior dealing with Oosterhuis he was sure that he was loyal. He said he wasn't a soldier, but he still had those instincts.

"Fine," Kaz motioned to the Davenport, "sit down everyone, let's chat." Every one sat down around him. "There is someone I need to get back. He's a friend, Matthias Helvar."

"What? That would never work!" Mikhael said. "Helvar is one of his favorites, he would never let him out of his sight."

"He doesn't need to be for me to be able to do it."

"Kaz, what do you mean? What's your plan?" Alexei asked.

"I'll become a friend." Again Kaz caused an uproar.

"What?"

"That's a horrible idea!"

"It'll never work!" Kaz simply shook his head in disagreement.

"Alexei knows this place inside and out." Alexei nodded his head. "And Jordie practically runs this place." Jordie gave a carefree smile. "Marie and Fedyor were powerful Grisha, and I'm assuming your powers still work here." The two of them nodded. "Mikhael here knows how not to be seen. Even if he's a bit bigger than what I would've preferred, he's what we've got and including more and letting Mikhael walk away with this information would be a huge mistake." Mikhael acknowledged his words. He stood up suddenly causing Kaz clench his fists. He held out his hand. "And I have done things people dare dream of." Kaz didn't smile, but he gave a look of respect and took it.

"Like what?" Mikhael said. Kaz pulled his gloved hand away and rested his hands on his knee.

"As I have told the others," Jordie raised his eyebrows. "Minus Jordie, I took a team of only five people excluding me, to the Fjerdan Ice Palace to steal something very precious, and I succeeded. No deaths, until later." They could tell he was talking about Matthias Helvar. The person he was trying to get back.

"Really?" Marie asked. Kaz nodded.

"All of you have been wronged by the Darkling, and I want Helvar back. So let's work to a common goal." Alexei stood up, looking very eager to bring pain to the Darkling.

"Then let's get started."

"Well— we have to hide the body first," Jordie said, motioning to Oosterhuis. Kaz started staring into the distance. Well, more like the wall.

"I feel like he's plotting something," Marie whispered to Fedyor. He nodded in return. Kaz stood up.

"I have an idea."

Hey guys, I wanted to upload this on Christmas Day, but Christmas Eve and the day itself were rather busy for me. I would've finished earlier today but I saw Aquaman with my family. Sorry for not posting. Believe me I do start writing as soon as I post the chapters, but I get block easy. Like I said I'm trying to be consistent, but that's not very easy. I'm going to try and post chapter ten before the story's birthday which is the 22nd but I'll try and make sure at the latest I'll post it'll be on its birthday. I'm actually at my grandma's house right now. I can't believe it took me this long to have a lair. It's the front room. No one going in here so I've been writing and reading and watching dramas in here. People just walk past even though it's probably the most open room in the house. I call it The Nest. I'm such a nerd. My b-day is coming up in nine days. I'll try to get at least five hundred words before then. Thank you to all who have stayed with me. A year is a long time. It won't take me another year to finish I promise. Things are about to get exciting.
