FUCK!

Tsukauchi's point of view:

The moment I burst into Hawks' office, I didn't bother knocking. Subtlety wasn't on the menu tonight. The door slammed open, startling the hero who was mid-sentence with his assistant, lounging in his usual chair like he didn't have a care in the world. His signature wings stretched lazily behind him.

Hawks: "Tsukauchi?"

Hawks called out to me, sitting up, his expression shifting from playful to serious in an instant.

Hawks: "Did you forget how to knock, or is this one of those 'the world's ending' situations?"

Me: "It's worse!"

I snapped, walking straight to his desk and planting my phone on it.

Me: "I need your help. Now. It's time! And call Endeavor."

That got his attention. Hawks leaned forward, scanning my face for clues.

Hawks: "You don't look like the type to overreact. What's going on?"

I took a breath, trying to reign in the storm of emotions that had been brewing since I read that email.

Me: "The kid—Midoriya. Quirkless. Vigilante. He's in deep with a group of villains who've decided to use him as bait for a suicide mission. Tonight."

Hawks raised an eyebrow, his wings twitching slightly.

Hawks: "That kid? That's already a headline in the making. And suicide mission? You're not pulling any punches, are you?"

Me: "I don't have time to pull any legs or punches!"

I snapped, my voice harsher than I intended. I ran a hand through my hair, frustrated.

Me: "The villains plan to send him to drive a truck for whatever disaster they're plotting. He's asking for help. I have no idea how much time we have or what exactly we're dealing with, but we need to move fast."

Hawks' easygoing mask slipped entirely. He stood up, the sharpness in his eyes betraying how seriously he was taking this.

Hawks: "You've got my attention. But why Endeavor? What's his role in this?"

Me: "Because this isn't just a simple bust. If this kid is tied to something big, we'll need heavy hitters. Endeavor's already in the loop. I called him earlier. I need you to be on standby for any intel we can gather and be there for a quick safe!"

I explained quickly, grabbing my phone again.

Hawks: "Got it,"

Hawks nodded, already reaching for his own phone.

Hawks: "I'll get the big guy on speed dial. Anything else I should know about this kid?"

I hesitated, debating how much to say.

Me: "He's been through hell. The villains know that. They've used it to their advantage. He's smart—but he's also alone. If we don't handle this carefully, he'll bolt. I'd bet everything I have that he's already considering escape plans."

Hawks whistled low under his breath.

Hawks: "You're not making this sound easy, Detective. But hey, I like a challenges."

I ignored his attempt at levity and pressed a button on my phone, dialing Aizawa's number. If Hawks was going to deal with Endeavor, I needed backup from someone who could handle the situation delicately—and Aizawa fit the bill.

The phone rang twice before Aizawa picked up, his voice groggy.

Aizawa: "Tsukauchi, it's my 3 pm coffee break. This better be important."

Me: "It is!"

I said, pacing the room as I spoke.

Me: "I've got a vigilante kid being forced into a suicide mission by villains. I'm calling in every favor I can to save him."

There was a long pause, then the rustling of fabric. I could practically hear Aizawa getting out of bed.

Aizawa: "Midoriya I suppose....Give me the details."

I quickly filled him in, keeping my tone clipped and professional despite the chaos swirling in my head. Aizawa listened without interrupting, and when I finished, he let out a tired sigh.

Aizawa: "Sounds like a mess, But I'll back you up. Let me know where to be and when."

Me: "Thanks, Aizawa, I'll text you as soon as we have a solid lead."

When I hung up, Hawks was already off his call, leaning casually against his desk like he hadn't just been on the phone with the number-one hero.

Hawks: "Endeavor's in, he's bringing Touya with him immediately. Should be interesting."

Me: "Interesting isn't the word I'd use,..."

I muttered this, pinching the bridge of my nose. My mind was racing, trying to piece together the next steps. We needed more intel, more time—neither of which we had. But at least we had manpower.

Hawks: "You good, Tsukauchi? You look like you're about to collapse."

Me: "I'm fine,"

I said automatically, though the weight of everything was starting to press down on me.

Me: "I can't let this kid down again."

Hawks gave me a look, his sharp eyes seeming to see right through me.

Hawks: "You're carrying this like it's personal."

Me: "It is.....I failed this kid once before. I'm not failing him again."

For once, Hawks didn't have a quip or a joke. He just nodded, his usual smirk replaced by something softer.

Hawks: "Then let's make sure you don't."
