Shri Ram along Janki and Laxman entered the room of Dashrath were he was lying on the bed sickly, beside him sat Guru Vasishth consoling him and on his other side Kaikeyi stood with her head high.

"Pranam." The three greeted everyone.

"Pitashree, allow Sita and Laxman to also go to the forest with me." Shri Ram said.

"Janki... You too ?" Dashrath asked weakly.

"I tried to make them understand but they were stubborn in their decision. Now allow the three of us to go to the forest for 14 years, and when we will return, we shall again serve your feet." Shri Ram said.

"No... No... Ram don't go to the forest. I am bound to Kaikeyi's boons, not you. You are valorous. Fight and snatch the kingdom that rightfully belongs to you." Dashrath said.

"With such a great father like yours, a son must ensure that your reputation remains spotless. I cannot fight your Pitashree." Shri Ram said.

"Then I will also come with you, if my son is in the forest then what will I do in the palace ? Take me with you also." Dashrath said.

"No Pitashree, the kingdom needs you. In your attachment towards me, don't neglect the duties of being a king. I know you are worried about my happiness, but happiness and sadness is a state of mind. And I have directed my mind towards the forest. Shaashtras say that father is greater than God, I consider you my god and belive that going to the forest is my prayer. If allow me to go then I'll believe you have accepted my prayers." Shri Ram said joining his hands.

Dashrath kept a hand over his forehead and sobbed.

"Hey Ishwar ! What is this dilemma ? Alright as Vidhata wishes. Arya-Sumant ?" Dashrath called.

"Yes Maharaj ?" Arya Sumant asked entering.

"It's my order that along with Ram, the army will go as bodyguards, along with Ayodhya's treasure and food supplies. So they can perform yagya in the forest with the sages. They will do charity and live happily." Dashrath said.

"Maharaj ! If all the army and wealth goes with Ram, then what will Bharat get ? A lifeless, fortuneless, defenseless kingdom !? Remember that you have accepted Bharat as the King then who gave you the right to give such orders without the permission of the King !? According to my boon, Ram has to stay in the forest like saints for 14 years. Thus they must leave these royal clothes and jewelleries here only ! I have made all the preparations already !" Kaikeyi told.

Dashrath, Vasisth and Arya-Sumant looked at her with disbelief as she clapped her hands gesturing Manthara to come.

The old woman came inside stomping her stick proudly. Her one hand carried a tray with saffron clothing and rudraksh ornaments.

"Mata is right. We must leave our royal attire here only and then leave. Mata give these to us along with your blessings." Shri Ram requested.

Kaikeyi smirked along with Mathara as she gave the saffron clothing to Shri Ram and then Laxman. But when she was about to give it to Janki, Vasisth stopped her.

"Stop Devi Kaikeyi ! You are destroying the traditions with your insolence. How did you forget Sita is your Putravadhu !? The pride of Raghuvansh and honour of Suryavansh. Why didn't your hands tremble while giving these clothes to her !? Remember Maharani, you have asked 14 years of vanvas for Ram only, not Sita." Vasisth said.

"He is right.... Janki you must stay in the forest like the queen you rightfully are... With all the royal attire, maids and comforts. I had promised Maharaj Janak to ensure your welfare. Janki, you will stay like a queen only." Dashrath said.

"Forgive me Pitashree, Forgive me Gurudev, but when my husband is staying like a sage in the forest, will it suit me to stay with royal comforts ? In marriage husband and wife must stay as equals at all situations then will it not be against my wifehood ? Won't it taint the names of my father and father-in-law ?" Janki asked.

Shri Ram smiled while Dashrath and Vasisth looked at her sadly as Kaikeyi smirkingly gave her the saffron clothing and Rudraksh ornaments.

"Mata, will you be kind enough to teach me how to wear these ?" Janki asked.

"I will teach it to you Bahurani, come with me come." Manthara said.
