Chapter Four

"She's not bitten you, idiot! There was a dog that bit her. It was hungry and wanted the entire can of food we had, but when we refused it got angry!" I explained, furious.
"I didn't see no dog back there, (Y/N)." Pete pointed out.

"Where'd this dog go?" Luke asked, I sighed.
"We had to kill it." Clementine admitted.
"You don't just kill a dog, Clem." Luke hissed.
"It attacked her, and fell onto a tent post so it got itself stuck. What were we supposed to do, leave it to suffer?!" I yelled, angrier than ever.
"Alright, that's good enough for me." Pete said, as I helped Clementine walk to their group.

As I asked if she was alright, she fainted into my arms.
"Clementine!" I called out, barely catching her.
Clem was asleep in my arms, as she started to stur the new people around us were arguing about what to do with her.
"She just needs a doctor!" I yelled, glaring at the group of stupid adults, "We don't work for anybody, and she was bitten by a dog!" I screamed, suddenly the boy with the gunshot at the ground near us.

"You idiot!" Pete said, taking the gun from him.
"I just need help." Clem muttered, standing up along with me.
"We have a doctor, he'll have a look." Luke said.
"I'll take a look." A man said, approaching us from the house.
He touched Clem's arm, saying whatever bite was from- it got her good.
"We'll leave once you stop the bleeding on her arm." I pointed out, the man looked up at me with a concerned look.
"And where exactly would you two go?" He asked.
"Our friend Christa is out there somewhere." I said.

"You wouldn't make it five feet, period." The boy who shot the ground hissed, I rolled my eyes.
"And you would? You'd try to shoot a walker and end up missing- alerting even more." I responded, crossing my arms.
The boy rolled his eyes, as the 'doctor' stood up.
"What do you think?" The black man asked.
"We have to wait. If the fever's set in by tomorrow morning, we'll know that she's going to turn. For now, we can lock her in the shed." The doctor replied.
"What about her arm? It needs to get stitched, bandaged, and cleaned." I pointed out.

"I'm not wasting supplies on a lurker bite. If you two are telling the truth- then tomorrow we will help you." He responded.
"And what about me? Where do I go?" I asked.
"You'll be in there with her, just in case you're hiding a lurker bite too. Then if you both turn, we'll know who was telling the truth." The boy from earlier hissed, as they forced Clementine and I into the small shed.
"Ugh, I can't believe this." I muttered, as I looked around. "There's a hammer up here, Clem. You search around, I'll reach for it." I said.

I reached from the ground, but couldn't get to the hammer so I pulled up a small table-like thing on the wall and climbed up it and reached again. I got it but before I could pull back, the shelf fell and I went with it.
Clem looked back to see if I was okay and helped me sit up, I was lucky to have no splinters or anything. I took the hammer and kept it with me as we searched the shed for anything else we could use.

Clementine found some tackle string that we could use for stitches if we really needed to, and I found a soft area in the wall where we could break out. I used the hammer to pull a piece of wood out of the way, then Clem and I kicked our way out.
Quickly, Clem and I crawled outside into the rain and headed towards the small home.
"So we need stitches, peroxide, and some bandages, right Dr. (Y/N)?" Clementine teased, I rolled my eyes.
"Yes we do, patient Clem." I responded, as we looked in the windows.

Just for clarifications, I am not a doctor. When we were younger, before the outbreak- Clementine and I used to play doctor together. Clementine hated seeing blood from herself so she always made me play the doctor.
So my nickname became Doctor (Y/N), and her's became Patient Clementine. I remember her parents being patients one day too, because her father came down with a cold and we jokingly said I could cure it. Of course, I made it words.

We looked under the porch and saw plywood against the side of it, I pulled the nails out and we climbed under the porch. We used Clem's pocket knife to get into a small closet. When we opened the door, we realized we were in their living room. We headed up the stairs quietly and entered the bathroom.
Clementine grabbed a needle from the little tomato shaped thing but before we could leave the bathroom, we heard a woman begin to approach the door. Swiftly, Clem and I hid behind the shower curtains as the woman opened the door.
