Chapter Five

"Let it be okay, and let it be his." The woman muttered, washing her face.
Clem and I glanced at each other, concerned and scared out of our minds. Finally, the woman left sighing. Clementine and I waited until her footsteps were far enough away then we climbed out from the shower curtains and continued to search.
We left the bathroom and opened a bedroom door. We tried to open the closet but it wouldn't budge, then we noticed something that was bandages on the dresser and grabbed them. With nothing else left in there, we left and went into another bedroom.

We opened the bedroom door to see the girl- Sarah from earlier.
"Shh." I said, as she nodded through the crack in her door.
"You're not supposed to be in here." Sarah whispered.
"We're just trying to fix Clementine's arm, she was bitten by a dog." I explained, as Clem and I went inside the room and shut the door behind us.
"I need something to clean it with, and I bet it's with the rest of your medical supplies." Clem said, the girl nodded.
"Yeah it is. Okay, I'll help you guys." Sarah said.

"Thank you."
"I'm Sarah." She said.
"I'm Clementine." Clem introduced.
"I'm (Y/N)." I added, Sarah grinned.
"We're friends. We all can be best friends, I haven't met any girls my age since way before." Sarah explained.
I glanced over at Clementine, she nodded slightly.
"Yes, we're friends." I said.
"Promise?"
Clementine and I both stayed silent.

"Alright fine, leave me alone. If I help you guys, will you leave me alone?" Sarah asked.
We nodded and Saran came back with peroxide.
"Thank you." We both whispered, as Clementine and I left the house and headed back to shed.
Once we climbed back into the shed, I placed everything we had on the table and Clementine put her arm down for me to 'operate' on.
"Are you ready? This is going to suck, it'll hurt- a lot." I admitted, Clementine only nodded. I could tell her heart rate was increasing as I took the cap off of the peroxide.

I pour two drops as Clem started yelling in pain, I quickly covered her mouth just enough so it wasn't too loud.
"Now the fun part.." I muttered, putting the thread through the needle. "Hold still, Clem."
I dug into Clem's arm with the needle, she held still as best she could while trying to use her other arm to muffle the screams. I kept going until the wound was healed enough that there wasn't very many holes her arm.
"Now the easiest part." I said, Clem groaned and I giggled.
I picked up the bandages and began wrapping then around Clementine's arm but I soon dropped them.

When I went to pick them up, a walker suddenly appeared and grabbed my leg. Luckily, Clementine grabbed the rake and pushed the walker into the anchor then I came over with the hammer and beat the poor guy's head in until it stopped moving.
All of the people who locked us in there opened the doors and were really concerned for us.
"Are you both alright?" Luke asked.
"Still not bitten." Clementine and I both say in unison.
"Wait, where'd you get that stuff?" A boy asked.
"Did she steal from us?" A woman asked.

"You left us no choice." I hissed, catching my breath.
We headed inside with the group, Carlos looked at Clementine's arm and I sat with a bowl of food in front of me.
"Which one of you did this?" Carlos asked, referring to Clementine's arm.
"I did." I admitted, he looked shocked.
"I'm surprised you're not a doctor." He muttered, I grinned.
When Carlos finally left, Clem sat beside me with a bowl of food and Luke sat in front of us.

"That's going to leave one hell of a scar." Luke pointed out, I giggled as Clem stopped eatting and replied to him.
"It's alright, I can live with it." She said.
Then a man approached us eating, he seemed sympathetic.
"Hey, sorry for y'know- being a dick out there." He said.
"Nick's been known to go out of line every once and a while- don't hold it against him." Luke said.
"It's okay..I get it." Clem said.
"It's fine." I muttered.

"Well since you two are basically on your own now, what's your plan?" Luke asked after Nick left.
"I don't know." Clementine and I said in unison.
"Well you are both welcome to stay here and heal up or rest." Luke said, I didn't really believe that sentence.
"Are you sure everyone else will be okay with that?" I asked.
"They'll just have to deal with it." Luke replied, "What happened to your parents..if you don't mind me asking."

"Other people took care of us." Clem said, I smiled- remembering Lee.
"We tried to find her parents." I said, "We were left with her babysitter but they never came back. We went to Savannah to find them but- they were walkers."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Luke said.
"Then we met a man, he took care of us. We met up with other survivors and tried to make it. But- it didn't work." Clem explained, "His name was Lee, he taught us how to survive- he taught us how to shoot a gun."

"What happened to him?" Luke questioned.
"The same thing that happens to everyone. But he saved us first, many times." I said.
"Well sounds like he was a good man." He replied, as Pete walked into the room.
"It's time to turn in I guess." Luke muttered, as he stood up and left with Pete.
Clem and I ate more in silence, since we were really hungry.
"Oh, you're both still here." Rebecca appeared in the room.
