Chapter 2: You Wouldn't Even Believe It...
Rain lightly tapped against my face, as I stared up at the sky. The sun hidden behind various colors of gray and white. Awaiting for my little cousin to get here. Considering I don't have a car to go pick them up, they had to walk.
It was about another 20 minutes before I heard someone calling my name. "(Y/N)!" A male voice echoed in my ear. My eyes glanced at where the voice came from, then back to the sky. "Hey Mark." I said, distracted by my thoughts, and he clouds formation. It looked like something. I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Grinning, I finally looked straight at Mark. "About time." I joked, and chuckled lightly.
"I had to take a detour! The road was closed down for construction!" Mark complained.
"I was just kidding Mark. Don't need to rant about it."
"But (Y/N)!" He whined, obviously paranoid. I just smiled, and got up. Not speaking, I grabbed Mark's arm. He tried to get out of my grip but I didn't give in. Instead, I dragged him to were Circus Baby's Pizza World was.
"Uhh... (Y/N). It's closed down."
"I know that. But look."
I spoke fluently, and pointed to a hidden newspaper add clipping.
"They're hiring for a mechanic. Maybe we could get the job!" I exclaimed. My heart raced as I spoke with such enthusiasm. I don't know what I'm doing. I don't want to go back to robots. But for Mark. Anything.
"Really? (Y/N). The place is CLOSED DOWN." He replied.
"I know but. For some reason. It's not for HERE. Its for the animatronics, yes. But it's... somewhere else. Cause it says. 'Must enjoy cramped spaces' and we are alright with it!" I explained to Mark, and motioned that we are okay with small spaces.
Mark grabbed the ad, and froze when he read one portion of the clipping. "N-not responsible for... d-death?" He whispered, and I froze.
I knew it.
My heart raced as I thought of what to say. "Ermm-... It... it is just a joke Mark. N-no worries!" I lied. His face expression changed, and he sighed. "Fine... I guess we can check it out. But if it does lead to death, I am blaming you (Y/N)." Mark explained, and put the ad back.
I quickly pulled out my phone, and dialed the number, and waited for a answer. After the third ring, someone picked up. "Hello?" The man on the other end of the line groaned. "Hey. Umm... Me and my cousin Would like to get the job as Mechanic? Is that still available?""Sure thing. Are you both alright with cramped spaces; and being around active animatronics?" The man asked.
"Yeah. I think so."I replied. I could hear a chair scraping against a hard floor. "Alright. Then when it's 12:00pm go to the house across the street, to the back, and then to the cellar. There should be a elevator that will lead you to your first night on the job. If you ever need me, just say into one of the speakerphones, Mr. Afton." Mr. Afton explained. My eyes widened at the name. "A-afton?" I mumbled.
"What was that?"
"Oh.. nothing..." I croaked. Soon enough, I said "I gotta go. Bye." Then hung up.
Mark stood there and stared at me in confusion. "What's wrong with the name Afton? Not like he did anything to you." Mark started. "Right?" Mark said slowly, and he sounded extremely confused.
"Mark. He has done things you wouldn't imagine. Trust me." I said with a serious tone, and sighed.
"You wouldn't even believe it..."
