They rode on through the field until they reached the gravel road. It was silence, until Adam saw a mud puddle.
SPLASH. Olivia and Ty were soaked head to toe. Olivia's hat was brown, and Ty spit out mud as if he was a fountain.
"Aw yeah! Knee pads rule!" Adam gave Jason a fist pump.
"What.. On.. Earth.. Is.. Knee pads?!" They both asked.
"Sky and TrueMU's skins have knee pads. You two have side bangs and head sets." Adam said. But Olivia ignored him, as an evil smile rode across her muddy face. Adam and Jason hadn't seen the HUGE mud puddle until it was too late.
THUNK SLPOOSH. Olivia had grabbed the picnic blanket from the trunk to shelter Ty and herself. The other two weren't so smart. Adam and Jason both spit out mud as if they were sprinklers.
"Go head sets!" The two said and fist pumped. There was utter silence for a few minutes until they couldn't hold it in. They laughed and laughed and laughed. Tears streaked down their mud stained faces.
--------------
"Ok ok the thing is... What NOT to teach your parrot to say." When they got home, they decided to play a few rounds of Things.
"Ok I got mine." Olivia said. Everyone els put theres in. Ty read them aloud.
"Hey you! stupid!"
"Ha ha." Everyone mumbled.
"I hate cheese."
"What the heck?!" Olivia said, and they giggled.
"I'm thinking. I'm thinking." No one said anything.
"Parrot says to the girl: He's cheating on you! He's cheating on you!" They laughed so hard they cried.
They guessed the owners of the answers, but then got bored.
"I'm tired of Things." Adam said.
"Me too." Ty said.
"Well boys, have I got an idea." Olivia ran to the TV, and pulled out a movie.
"MONSTA'S INC!" They yelled.
------------
By the end of the movie, Olivia looked over to see Ty and Jason crying. She smiled. It was her favorite Pixar movie.
The credits began to role around, and Adam turned the TV off with the remote control.
"Well, I enjoyed tonight." Ty said. Jason nodded. Olivia hugged them good bye and they were out the door. They were going to take Adam's bikes home because they didn't have another car.
"That was fun!" Olivia turned to see Adam at the counter. He was holding a piece of paper he had taken out of an envelope. He looked up at her. His smiled had disappeared.
"What's this?" He held it in front of her. All the fun she had just had was forgotten as she stared at it.
