chapter twenty two.
mad woman

ALANI wished she could say that the past couple weeks had been bliss without Jennifer Blake taunting their every move, and the Alpha pack following their every trail, but she'd be lying. The most she'd be able to say was that it had been... okay.

Granted, Alani and Rose Mordor had never been better when it came to their relationship. They were talking a lot more ever since that conversation where the teen apologised for not going easier on her mother for all those years, and since then, they seemed closer than ever. Of course, they still had their ups and down━━what mother, daughter duo didn't?━━where there would be small, petty arguments, but it didn't take long for them dissolve and return back to normal. It was a slow progress, but it was progress, nonetheless. They hadn't been so close for the entirety of their relationship━━it would take time to switch it up so suddenly.

Her visions haven't been acting up as much, either. Ever since that one particular vision outside of the Nemeton, that's all it had been. Watching the unknown figure stare down menacingly at her from a distance, doing nothing but letting their eyes travel over her own figure, almost as if they were waiting for something, taunting her until it finally happened. Seeing it over and over again every night (for she hadn't had━━what Stiles deemed━━a walk-in one since then, either) had been bone-chilling at first, knowing they weren't that far away from one another, but after several few, Alani realised they weren't doing anything other than looking at her. If the figure wanted to harm her, or send her some sort of message, surely, they would've done it already. It became bearable each night.

On a much more positive note, Alani Mordor simply couldn't have been happier with the friends she had made during her first day at Beacon Hills Highschool. What Alani thought had been a terrible day, turned out to be one filled with fate. And, ever since then, Alani had stayed by the side of the group throughout everything.

She had always found it difficult when it came to making new friends, which was why she never really bothered much with it. But, these people were different━━they understood her, and because of that, Alani completely believed she had not only found new friends she knew would stick with her throughout the rest of her life, but a family, too. For that's what they were to Alani Mordor━━family.

For the past couple weeks, Alani had gotten super close with both Lydia and Allison. Admittedly, the blonde would argue that she had been close with the former anyway, after having many adventures with the girl since joining. It was Allison whom she hadn't seen that much, for she was off trying to solve other parts of the puzzle. But, since then, the three girls had been attached at the hip.

At first, Alani was worried she be intruding on their friendship, not wanting to get involved too much in case they realised they were better off as their original duo, seeing as they had been friends since Allison's day one━━before any of them knew of the supernatural side of the world. Those negative thoughts, however, were instantly put at ease. As soon as the group were being given signs that everything had calmed down and they could go back to being somewhat normal, the girls took to inviting Alani everywhere. Whether they were going shopping, out for a meal or staying overnight at one another's house━━Alani was there. And, she loved it, because she'd never really had that before. It was something she wasn't willing to give up any time soon.

Scott━━what could Alani say about Scott? He had been persistently by her side since the day she joined their school, having her back and defending her against those who thought her suspicious or possibly dangerous, even when he didn't know her that well. The best way Alani had of describing the boy would be that he was like her brother. She felt like she could go to him for anything━━whether it was supernatural related or not. And, he welcomed those moments with open arms, allowing the blonde to fall right in and feel safe, comfortable. She had never really desired another sibling, being an only child. At least, not until she met Scott McCall.

Even Isaac was treating her better than their first initial meeting. He was someone else Alani considered to be family━━constantly reprimanding and teasing one another, to the point where any outsiders looking in would think they hate one another. But, those within their circle knew otherwise. They knew that's just how they got along and showed one another they cared.

And, Stiles. Now, Alani definitely wasn't sure what to say about him. They got along well, maybe even a little better than she was with any of the others due to having been around him every second they were against Jennifer and the Alphas. But, things just felt different. Alani guessed it was complicated to explain, not quite understanding why she feels different around him, only knowing that she does.

Well, she knows━━but, she doesn't really want to admit to it just yet.

So, Alani really couldn't feel any happier at the moment, especially not when herself, Lydia and Allison were spending another night together over the weekend at the strawberry blonde's house. They had spent a good fifteen minutes trying to decide on what movie to watch━━eventually picking Dirty Dancing, which was Lydia's idea━━seeing as they all had different tastes. As the title opened up on the girl's TV, Lydia had rushed downstairs, quickly bringing back up a bowl of mixed snacks that she knew all of them liked. Alani and Allison struggled paying much attention to the screen, as they lay about, lounging in baggy clothes, laughing at Lydia's small reactions to every detail displayed on her TV.

That was how they spent their night━━mocking Lydia (who only continued to roll her eyes at her friend's antics); throwing snacks at one another for no goddamn reason, other than to annoy someone; and there was even some talk on Allison and Isaac. A few nights ago, Lydia had brought up the topic, to which the brunette girl had blushed slightly and gone suddenly quiet. Because of her reaction, Lydia had taken it upon herself to question the girl every time they had a sleepover together, wanting to be updated on any possible progress available. Alani wouldn't bother getting too involved, not wanting to make Allison too uncomfortable, and it seemed her quietness only painted a target on her back within Lydia's eyes.

Her friends had questioned her about Stiles a couple of times, each time having to play it down as only seeing him as a really close friend. It was obvious neither of the girls believed a word she said to them, sending painstakingly obvious looks to one another, knowing thoughts being exchanged just within an expression. Alani was always quick to change the subject, desperate not to give too much away.

At the end of the night, all three girls were exhausted. None of them were quite sure what time it was━━they had made a rule that during their sleepovers, they weren't to check on their phones, unless it was for an emergency. It was a reluctant rule, they were a little hesitant to enforce at first, but one they enjoyed in the end. It allowed them to spend proper, quality time with one another, the supernatural world completely erased from their minds like it never existed, like they had no problems other than deciding what movie they should watch.

The television screen continued to play on in the night, the quietness of the end credits echoing around the room and illuminating even the darkest corners. Alani allowed the sounds of faint music begin to drift her back to sleep, lulling her into an endless abyss of nothingness, before she felt a slight tickle at the back of her neck. She paid no mind to it, gently smacking her hand through the air behind her out in instinct to get rid of the feeling.

It didn't leave.

Eyebrows furrowed, but eyes remained shut, Alani continued to swat away the feel, but the tickle only repeated itself. She was beginning to grow frustrated, her subconscious not yet allowing her to grow anxious as to why it wasn't relenting. At least, not until she heard a bang.

Her eyes instantly shot open, wide and panicked. She took a moment to calm her heart, telling herself that she had probably just imagined━━she was tired, and her mind was more than likely playing tricks on her. After several seconds, Alani swallowed deeply, not hearing anything else and accepting such a conclusion. Her eyes had just about closed when she heard it again.

This time━━bang, bang.

Two consecutive bangs━━definitely not her imagination anymore.

She shot up from where she lay, covers cascading down her crumpled figure and ending in a pile on her lap. Her arms were shaking as she leaned her weight against them, head shooting to the door which remained closed. Alani knew Lydia's mother wasn't home━━she had mentioned something about going to visit relatives someplace else━━but her mind was desperate to form an answer that didn't terrify her. Maybe Ms. Martin had come home in the end, and was wanting to let the girls know of her presence in the house.

But, surely the woman would call out softly, speaking their names, letting them know it was her rather than scaring them. She wouldn't just bang against the door.

Bang, bang, bang.

This time, Alani knew it hadn't come from the closed door. Her head whipped around to the wall opposite, eyes entranced within the dark corner of the room that the TV's light was unable to reach. Bottom lip quivering, her breathing comes out shaky, desperate to wake the other girls up so she wouldn't be so scared alone. But, when she looked down at where she knew they were, she found nothing but crumpled sheets. Frantic, Alani removed the covers away, exposing an empty mattress.

It was just her.

Bang, bang, bang.

A terrified whimper escaped her lips, closing her eyes in denial as she willed herself not to cry. She should've known the good side of things would come to a stop sooner or later━━nothing was ever truly good for them. Letting out a pained breath, Alani stared soullessly into that dark chasm of a corner, knowing for definite now that that's where the banging was coming from.

Repeatedly telling herself that everything was okay, everything was fine, it's just a dream, or a vision, and soon you'll wake up next to Lydia and Allison like nothing even happened, she slowly made her way from the bed. Her legs wobbled a little from the nerves rushing through her entire body, but she forced herself to continue moving, knowing that if she stopped, if she hesitated for just a second, she wouldn't carry on. And, she knew she needed to━━she didn't exactly want to be stuck in whatever this was for too long.

As she made her way closer and closer to the corner, not only just feet away from being enveloped within the darkness, another bang, bang, bang, rang out. It made her jump, biting her lower lip to stop herself from screaming. The quite enshrouded around her, the TV having now finished the complete run-through of Dirty Dancing, and Alani brought her hand forward. She could see the obvious tremors running up and down her arm, but she leant forwards, until she could no longer see her hand. Alani continued reaching forwards, expecting something to jump out, or grab her, or hear another bang, bang, bang. But, when her hand touched the coldness of the corner of the wall, there was nothing.

Alani wouldn't let the sigh of relief escape her parted lips━━she knew she wasn't out of whatever this was just yet.

She drew her hand back to her chest, cradling it like it had been harmed, like she was happy to still have a limb. The blonde was just moments away from turning around, ready to await another bang, bang, bang, and figure out what was happening to her, when she heard something else.

From behind her, Alani Mordor could hear deep breathing.

Alani knew she was the only one in the room━━she had checked for Lydia and Allison, wanting to wake them up so she wasn't alone, but found they weren't there. Her heart picked up speed at such a thought, her breathing hitching within her throat, and Alani shut her eyes as tight as she could, like doing so would bring her out of this nightmare and back into reality.

The breathing only got faster, like they were exhausted and needed to catch their breath. There was only one way to get out of this nightmare, and Alani knew she had to face whatever lay behind her. Plucking up courage she didn't know she held, Alani slowly turned her body around, eyes searching frantically for whoever it was.

In the opposite corner, a figure stood━━the same figure within her vision of the woods━━chest heaving up and down, shoulders hunched and tense. Before she even had the chance to do anything else━━she wasn't quite sure what she'd have done━━the figure looked up, and Alani could make out soulless, dark eyes, those same eyes that had been watching her almost every night for weeks now.

A shudder left her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes. A cackle drifted from the other side of the room, taunting her and chilling her to the bone.

WAKE UP! it screamed.

Alani screamed, too.

She continued screaming, eyes shut tight, and hands clasped against the side of her head, entrapping herself in her bubble of safety. Of course, she knew that wouldn't keep her safe, but she was panicking, and it was the most she could do when panicked. Her throat was rare, tearing harshly at the sides, but she didn't let up. Alani wanted the figure out of her mind━━out of her life━━and she'd do anything to make sure it stayed away.

Hands touched her forearms, and the blonde jumped at the contact. She shrunk away, moving backwards until her back banged against the wall. Not letting up, Alani continued screaming, more quietly this time as she felt pain ricochet through her. She couldn't see anything; she couldn't hear anything.

The feeling of hands continued to grasp around her arms, pulling her away from her ears as her eyes remained firmly closed.

"Alani━━!"

"Alani, it's okay━━it's us!"

Alani knew those voices. Alani knew it was no longer the figure that had enjoyed tormenting her. Alani knew she was back in reality.

Slowly but surely, the blonde peeled her eyes open, tears clouding her vision and beginning to run down her cheeks. Through the haze, she could make out Lydia and Allison standing in front of her, concerned and confused expressions wound deep into their features. She must look like a mad woman.

Lydia held tightly onto her, her own hands gradually moving down Alani's arms until they found solace within her hands, entwining their fingers together and squeezing reassuringly. Allison gently placed her hands against the sides of Alani's face, caressing her thumbs and wiping away the tears.

Alani could only flicker her eyes between her two best friends. She knew she needed to explain to them what had happened━━why she had woken them up filled with so much terror━━but all she really needed right then was comfort. She collapsed into the arms of Lydia Martin, the strawberry blonde girl immediately wrapping her tight within her embrace whilst Allison rubbed soothingly along her back. They created a blanket of comfort, an area of safety, just for the three of them.

She had forced her breathing to calm, wiping the tears that had fallen once again from her eyes before shoving her face into her hands. She rubbed harshly against her skin, willing the pain to force her completely awake, running a hand through her strewn blonde hair.

Both girls remained in their positions, arms out ready in case anything else happened and they needed to help their friend. Taking a deep breath, Alani nodded, letting them know that she had recollected herself to the best of her ability, and was ready to talk.

Licking her lips, she contemplated over how she would describe what had happened. "It was another vision━━but not the one in the woods. It was him," she quickly added on, eyes slowly trailing away from her friends to behind them, where the darkness still awaited Alani Mordor with open arms, "but he was here." Her voice was quiet, tearing her eyes away the corner and shaking her head. "He was banging all around the room, and when it stopped, he was there━━" she pointed, as the girls whipped around to look, too, "━━breathing heavily and laughing at me. And, he screamed, telling me to wake up."

Allison turned back around, hand rubbing against the blonde's arm. "Oh, Alani..."

"I'd never felt so scared before," she continued, her breathing once more becoming laboured and sobs racking within the back of her throat. "You guys weren't there━━I tried to wake you, but you weren't there. And, I thought he was━━he was going to kill me, and I━━" She never finished her ramblings, for both girls embraced Alani within the arms, consoling her.

"It's okay," Lydia whispered, "it's okay. It was just another vision━━he can't hurt you when you see him there, can he?" She brought Alani out of their embrace, wiping her tears away and brushing stray strands of hair away from her features. "You're okay."

Allison had remained quiet, thoughts racking within her mind as she firmly decided she was to admit to something, too. If Alani could be so vulnerable around the two of them, then so could she. "I've been seeing things, too," she voiced, bringing Lydia's and Alani's attention away and over to their friend. "I'm imagining myself in random places, and it feels like I'm actually there, like I'm seeing one thing, but my body is really where I left it." Sighing, Allison looked back over at Alani, a sympathetic smile on her lips. "I know it's not exactly the same thing you've been going through, but it's something━━which means you're not alone. You've never been alone."

Her friend's words only caused more tears to well up in her eyes, and the other two girls were starting to feel it, too. They chuckled, before Allison brought them into another hug, wrapping her arms securely around their figures, desperate to keep them all away from any harm that was daring enough to threaten them. She'd do anything for her friends.

Lydia sighed dramatically. "Well, I guess it's just another day in Beacon Hills, right?"

Laughs escaped their lips as the sound mingled with their tears. Alani had been foolish to think they had something good heading their way, because Lydia was right━━another day in Beacon Hills wasn't something good, it was something else.

Alani had done her very best to not allow her mind to drift back to whatever it was she had experienced over the weekend. To her surprise, neither Lydia nor Allison had brought it up to her, either, meaning she was doing a pretty good job at forgetting like it ever happened in the first place. Of course, she knew she'd have to deal with it at some point down the line━━especially if the random person kept taunting her continuously━━but that day was not today.

The blonde breathed in deeply, her nose scrunching slightly without her realising it as she walked past a group of people. She noticed a few of them giving her funny looks, her brows furrowing in confusion but trying not to think much on it. Instead, she carried on walking up to the front of the school, bag strap gripped tightly within her hand.

"Alani!"

Said girl's head turns sharply in the voice's direction, finding Stiles standing a short distance away from her. He gives her a small wave, smiling brightly before beginning to jog his way over to her. Whilst she waits for him to cross the road, Alani can't help but notice the butterflies that are beginning to swarm within her stomach. What was this━━why was she feeling this? Nerves slowly creep up inside of her, her smile faltering without her wanting it to. It can't be what she thinks it is, right? She just enjoys Stiles' company, and his humour, and his sarcasm━━that doesn't mean she...?

As the boy stops in front of her, Alani does her best to plaster a smile on her face. She can already tell it's not the most convincing one from the way her nerves start getting to her, and it's only set in stone when Stiles stares at her, eyes narrowed. "What?" Alani questions, acting casual. "What is it? Do I have something on my face?" she questions, thinking back to the few people who had given her odd looks just moments before. She looks back in their direction. "Because these people were being weird━━"

"No, no, um," Stiles chuckles, shaking his head. He, too, looks over at where Alani was originally, taking note of the people she mentioned. Shrugging, he makes eye contact with her again. "You just look really tired━━like, really tired."

"Oh." Alani falters, not quite sure on how to respond.

See, even though the incident had only happened a couple of days ago, Lydia and Allison were the only ones she had told (mainly because she had no other choice but to explain her craziness without her friends thinking she was mad). They had taken it well━━or, at least, as well as they could━━and Alani really didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Telling Stiles, would.

She knows how Stiles would react, and she doesn't want that. Alani knows that he'll overreact; he'll panic, cause a scene, tell everyone they know so someone can figure something out to help her and try everything he can to get rid of it. And, Alani appreciates that mentality━━she really does━━but, it's not what she wants right now.

Not when she was still unsure what the visions meant.

So, she hadn't gotten much sleep since then. Alani had done everything in her power to stay awake for as long as possible, so she only had to sleep for a couple of hours. That way, the figure couldn't terrorize her as much. It was working━━but she was so tired.

Shaking her head, Alani lets out a breathless chuckle, one she hopes is enough to reassure him. "Yeah, um," she scratches her head, eyes not being able to look directly at the boy in front of her, trying to think of a good excuse. "I've just been staying up a little later than usual. trying to get as much knowledge stuck in my brain, you know...?"

What a shit excuse.

It's instantly obvious that Stiles didn't believe a single word that fell from her lips━━not only from her excuse, and the way she faded off at the end, like she was unsure herself, but also because he just stands there, continuing to stare at her suspiciously, like he's waiting for her to succumb and tell him to truth.

Alani expects━━and hopes━━Stiles will just let the matter go, go on with their day like normal. What she doesn't expect is for him to lean closer to her. Her breath hitches in her throat, swallowing deeply as she repeatedly tells herself that everything's fine. "If there's something bothering you," he makes sure to keep his voice quiet, "you can tell me. You know that, right?"

Now, she feels bad. She feels bad because she knows Stiles would want her to tell her the truth, but she simply can't bring herself to do it, afraid of his reaction, and afraid of the answers they might find if he delved deep enough. Alani doesn't want to think about it, so she doesn't tell him.

And, of course Alani knew she could go to Stiles for anything, because that's how things worked between them━━they had done from the very start. Not long after they had first met, Stiles was already telling her everything that had happened to them in the past year when it came to everything supernatural, telling her all his theories on who could be the Darach, and so forth. They trusted one another, wholeheartedly and completely. They were investigative buddies━━that wasn't something you could just forget.

But, something about this particular secret held her back.

She was just moments away from speaking up, assuring Stiles that she knew she could go to him for anything━━that it was simply just not sleeping the proper amount━━when they saw Scott, frantically rushing down the stairs as he looked behind him, like something was chasing after him. Immediately, Stiles detached himself from Alani, moving towards his best friend and clasping him on the shoulder. "Hey, hey," he spoke calmly. "You alright?"

Alani slowly made her way over to the two boys, eyes narrowed in on her friend as she watched him attempt to nod, eyes still flashing around himself. "Are you sure?"

"You don't look alright, Scott."

"I'm okay," Scott replied half-heartedly.

"No, you're not." Stiles instantly denied, both his friends looking up at him with slight shock. The harshness in his voice gave it all way. "It's happening to you, too━━you're seeing things, aren't you?"

With furrowed brows, Alani couldn't take her eyes away from Stiles. What did he mean it's happening to you, too? Was Stiles seeing things, as well? He hadn't mentioned anything━━but, then again, he hadn't really been given the opportunity to tell her.

The blonde thought back to the time before her three friends became surrogate sacrifices for their parents, and Deaton's warning. He had told them it would have a lasting effect on them━━some darkness within them that would be there until the day they die━━but Alani realised she had been hoping the man was slightly exaggerating. If Scott and Stiles were beginning to see things, acting out the way the werewolf had done just moments earlier, she wondered how bad it could really get.

And, she wondered if her vision was connected.

She knew it wasn't━━it couldn't have been, considering she had been seeing the same figure for a short while now, before any of them even had the slightest clue about the plan to sacrifice themselves. But, Alani had an itch at the bad of her head, one that told her to remember it, to remember everything they've been through, and what it could mean for them next.

At Stiles' sudden words, Scott looked surprised, looking back and forth between his two friends in front of him, mentally taking note Alani's dazed-off expression. "How'd you know?"

Footsteps sounding behind them, both Alani and Stiles turned out to find Lydia and Allison walking towards them. The former looked concerned, defeated almost, like she had just had a realisation hit her, one she didn't want, whilst Allison just looked exhausted. The two girls briefly made eye contact, and Alani gave her a small smile, one she thankfully returned.

Lydia sighed. "Because it's happening to all three of you."

Each of them looked disheartened at the news, realising it was to do with Deaton's warning some time ago. Alani could only show her moral support for each of her friends, not quite understanding what they were going through, but having some sort of experience. Her visions would torment her, leave her traumatised on the odd occasion, but she believed what her friends were beginning to experience seemed somehow worse.

She didn't notice Lydia's worried gaze flicker to her.

Without another word said between them, Lydia began moving up the steps and towards the front entrance, the rest of the group following behind her. None of them really knew what to say━━whilst they were all going through a similar thing, Alani guessed that it would've been different for all of them, depending on what they feared the most.

It was Lydia who decided to break the silence, walking in front of them, and opening the doors wide. Stiles and Allison walked solemnly behind the strawberry blonde, whilst Scott and Alani took the rear. Looking down at his friend, Scott gently nudged Alani's shoulder, bringing her attention up to him. He noticed her saddened eyes, the way they struggled to stay open and the frown upon her lips. Giving her a nod, a signal of a question, asking whether she was okay, she could only give him a tight-lipped smile as an answer. Scott wanted to ask her more, implore more and figure out what was on the blonde's mind, but Lydia's voice interrupted his thought process.

"Well, well━━look who's no longer the crazy one." Lydia chided.

Allison shook her head, scoffing. "We're not crazy."

Sharply turning around, Lydia pursed her lips in mock thought, causing the others to stop in front of her. "Hallucinating? Sleep paralysis?" She chuckled. "Yeah, you guys are fine."

Looking between one another, Scott, Stiles and Allison thought of something to say in their defence. It did sound as though they were going slightly crazy, but then again, what wasn't considered crazy in Beacon Hills?

Scott tilted his head, shrugging. "We did die and come back to life━━that's gotta have some side effects, right?"

Echoing throughout the busy hallways, the bell to signal the first period rang. Alani looked around, watching as everyone hurried to bustle past one another, not wanting to be late. Watching one person after the other, it made Alani wonder if her life would've been just a little normal had she not moved to Beacon Hills in the first place. Or, even if she still had done that, but started a different class and had not met the others the way she had done. Although she supposed it probably wouldn't have made a difference━━Alani knew she somehow would've ended up right where she was no matter how she arrived. It was enough of a thought to bring a small smile to her face, before Stiles spoke.

"Alright, we keep an eye on each other, okay?" He spoke to them all, eyes meeting on person before flickering to another. When Alani heard nothing else━━not even movement to signify her friends leaving for their classes━━she turned her head back around, only to find Stiles looking directly at her. Pointing his fingers at Alani, she suddenly stiffened. "And you," he addressed her, "are you sure you're okay?"

She was slightly taken aback by the question━━she knew they hadn't finished their original conversation earlier, and she knew Stiles would want to return to it, but she didn't think he'd do it then, in front of everyone else. Alani's eyes widened, noticing their friends looking right back at her. Had her discomfort been that obvious? Of course, she knew Lydia and Allison already knew about what she had seen over the weekend, considering they were there, but Stiles and Scott taking notice really was the icing on the cake.

Alani's head slowly moved to Lydia's direction, her friend's eyes short and full of sympathy. Her head nodded in the direction of the boys, and the blonde knew Lydia wanted her to tell them the truth, tell them why she was really suffering. But, she couldn't do it. She couldn't do it before she found out Scott, Stiles and Allison were having troubles themselves, so what made Lydia think she'd do it now?

With a deep breath she hoped hadn't given too much away, Alani swallowed deeply, looking back over at Stiles and attempting one of her normal smiles. It didn't reach her eyes, and to Stiles and Scott, that was a dead giveaway. "Yeah, of course," Alani shrugged, flickering from foot to foot, "why wouldn't I━━"

"You're a terrible liar," Stiles cut her off, not even bothering to hear her attempt at telling them she was okay. He looked around, addressing everyone once again, ignoring the glare Alani was shooting at the side of his head. "Okay, new plan━━keep an eye on each other and Alani."

Said girl sighed, exasperated. She shook her head. "You really don't need to━━"

"Good plan," Allison nodded firmly, before beginning to walk off to her first class. Alani's mouth hung open, not quite believing that her friend's weren't bothering to listen to her. She knew she was a terrible liar━━Stiles was right━━but she thought they'd at least try and hear her out. Clearly, they already had a plan against her.

Coming up beside her, Lydia only patted her shoulder, tight-lipped and slightly sympathetic smile against her lips. Her friend had wanted her to tell the other two the truth, and if it was already clearly obvious that something was going on with her, Alani knew it was only a matter of time before the truth came out.

After watching Lydia begin to walk off after Allison, she looked back over at the only two left. Her eyes found Stiles, who had a firm expression on his face, a sign to the girl that he wasn't giving up on getting to bottom of it all any time soon━━the one time Alani didn't admire his determination. Instead, she attempted to get Scott to see reason, only to find him wearing the same expression Lydia had been. She should've known he wouldn't be on her side, either━━he was their Alpha, even if Alani wasn't a werewolf, and he was like her older brother. She knew he'd do anything for her, so it was rather obvious why she had no supporters against them.

Throwing her head back and looking up to the ceiling, Alani couldn't suppress the groan that left the back of her throat. At her antics, she heard the two boys chuckle, Alani rolling her eyes at them. How did she end up here? Just that morning, she had sworn that she wouldn't reveal what had happened, and yet it seemed as though they were only moments away from understanding the truth, thanks to their sheer protectiveness and determination.

Alani loved them, but God, were they annoying sometimes.
