THERE SHE GOES

XXXXV. THERE SHE GOES

Sirene Black was observant to an almost creepy degree, like she could be looking at someone from the behind and she wouldn't even need to look at their hair to know who they are. She also noticed someone's body language a lot, she noticed how they behaved when they were nervous, sad, happy, etc. but it doesn't take a genius to figure out when your friends are seeing each other.

That was exactly what's happening with Lily and James, they were trying to hide it but so desperately failing. Of course her male friends didn't notice, how could they? She was convinced males are born with half the brains of a female.

Her friends and Sirene watched the 'not couple' (bullshit) make their way to the Great Hall after roaming the corridor with stupid smiles on their faces. Sirius, Remus and Peter watched them with their eyes practically bulging out of their sockets.

"Is that Lily and James?" Remus said rubbing his eyes.

     "Laughing together?" Sirius added.

"Without Lily slapping him?" Peter asked as he watched them walk in, but then stop at a table to confiscate some joke item.

"No" Sirene said with a sarcastic tone, "It's Anakin and Padme"

The boys blinked at her not getting a word of what she said. Sirene hit them on the head with rolled up newspaper making them spring back in surprise.

"How thick are you?!" Sirene exclaimed gaining the attention of a few Gryffindors who looked at her for a moment before going along their day, "News flash — they're going out!"

"Lily and James?" Sirius snorted at her, "Nahhh"

"James probably held her down or something" Peter said, "There's no way Lily would go out with him"

"No" Remus said his mouth forming a small 'o', "I think she might be right"

"Yeah, no shit, Sherlock" Sirene rolled her eyes at the oblivious boys, "Practically the whole school — except you guys — noticed"

"How do you know that?" Sirius asked Sirene, "They could just be friends"

"Look at them!" Sirene said in a hushed yell as she motioned towards them, "Look how James is guiding her through the crowd and making sure everyone is out of the way, look at how Lily leans in whenever he makes a joke, and how she's practically holding his hand. Honestly, how dumb are you?"

"Aw, fuck!" Sirius said slumping down into his seat, "Moony and I made a bet about James and Lily dating — I thought they'd be together by next year, Moony said before December. I lose now"

"Ha!" Remus said with a victorious smile, "To be honest, I'd forgotten about that bet...until you said that"

"This day sucks!" Sirius said with an immature pout.

"Tough shit" Sirene rolled her eyes at her brother's dramatics, "You should be happy for your friend, guy's been begging her to go out since first year! And betting on them? Really? I expected better from you, Moony!"

"Don't look at me" Remus said with a shrug, "I'm broke, you would make bets if you were too"

"That reminds me!" Peter said his face lightening up, "Sirius you still owe me two galleons from that bet we made about Moony and Lauren"

"You guys bet on my relationship?!" Remus exclaimed in an offended voice, "What the fuck?!"

"Yeah?" Sirius said in an obvious tone, "It wasn't just us, Sirene bet on it too"

Remus turned to Sirene who grimaced slightly, "I expected better from you Sirene!" he mocked her using the same tone she used with him earlier.

"Don't look at me" Sirene shrugged, "I've got to make some money somehow"

"Are the vaults and vaults of money just not enough for you?"

     "Exactly."

Remus rolled his eyes at her before going back to eating his food. Alice and Marlene soon joined them at the table with Lyra and Lauren coming in to sit with their girlfriend and boyfriend. Neveah came in too, though Sirene made extra sure that she knew Sirene didn't like her very much.

"Mar" Sirene said to the blonde who turned to look at her, "You owe me five galleons"

"Blimey?" Marlene said her eyes widening, "They're together?!"

"I mean, yes" Sirene said with a small shrug, "You could say that"

    "Did they tell you that?"

    "No"

"No confirmation, no money" Marlene said turning away with a huff.

"You did the same thing with Marlene!" Sirius said looking at her sister with disbelief, "Hypocrite"

"Yes" Sirene said simply, "Just because I told you it's wrong to do doesn't mean I'm not gonna do it"

"Exactly!" Sirene said exasperatedly to Andrew, "Moony gets away with it all the time! He's the mastermind behind all our pranks yet our teachers think he's some sort of angel!"

"Wasn't he afraid of the fireworks prank though?" Andrew asked furrowing his eyebrows.

"Well, yeah" Sirene shrugged, "But it wasn't about the prank more like about the class and him being afraid of fireworks in general"

"Oh" Andrew said as they walked to a Transfiguration together, "What about you? What's your role in a prank?"

"Most of the times I'm the one who does the positioning and stuff of the pranks" She said shoving her hands in her cloak pockets, "And the other times I do it all myself because I prefer doing pranks alone"

"How about a prank with me?" Andrew asked her, his eyes shining. Sirene noticed that but she didn't know if they were shining because of her or the pranks, very conceited of her to think it might involve her but she would like to remind everyone that she has a crush, "That could be fun"

"It most definitely would be" Sirene nodded in agreement with a small grin, "What do you think we should do? Confetti bombs? Fireworks? Glitter? Water? Ooh ice!"

"Why do you have all that with you?" Andrew asked the girl with disbelief present in his voice, "What are you Mary Poppins or something?"

"Who's Mary Poppins?" Sirene furrowed her eyebrows, "Her last name sounds like something a candy company would be called"

"Nevermind that" He shook his head, "But again — why do you have all that with you?"

"Why don't you?" She asked reaching in her backpack and pulling out one of those confetti bombs she'd bought from Prewett twins.

"Confetti, huh?" Andrew said looking at her and the bombs for a few moments before shrugging, "Why not?"

"That's the spirit" Sirene grinned widely and she swore her heart skipped fifteen fucking beats when Andrew smiled back.

"How are we going to do this again?" Andrew asked Sirene and then watched her explain the plan, zoning out here and there because of how excited she looked talking about it all.

He wanted to ask her out, really, he did. He wanted to ask her out so fucking bad but he just couldn't, because everytime he thought of it in his head he gets rejected, so.. yup.

"Get it?" She asked after she told him the whole plan to see him staring at her as if he was in a daze, she snapped her fingers, "You there? Am I that boring that you zoned out?" she asked him in a teasing voice.

"No!" He said hurriedly, "You're not, I just got distracted that's all, by the way did you know your eyes have just a bit of green in them?" He blurted out before he could stop himself, GREAT YOU FUCKING IDIOT! Now she's going to think you're a creep!

"Huh?" Sirene said looking up at him in confusion, "I didn't know that, actually. Thanks for telling me"

"You're welcome" he grinned awkwardly. Sirene chuckled at him before explaining the plan once again.

IF URE READING THIS ANSWER THIS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION - WOULD YOU RATHER ME END THE BOOK AFTER HER HOGWARTS DAYS OR DO LIKE YEARS AFTER THAT UNTIL THAT HALLOWEEN YA KNOW? (There isn't anything wrong with that it'll just be a really long book) OK THATS ALL. Also keep in mind that if I stop writing the story after Hogwarts ends — I can add a lot of my own stuff without worrying much about the plot holes in the next books that I'm planning to write. Almost like a legacy ya know? So yeah.
