SIREM IN ACTION

XIII. SIREM IN ACTION

Sirene Black could always be found hiding up on the astronomy tower whenever shit hit the fan, or simply because she feels strong emotions she does not want to deal with, so instead she focuses on the stars that scattered across the sky forming little constellations, she found the stars calming.

After receiving a letter from her parents about her hanging out with 'filthy mudbloods' and how she should focus more on 'being like her little brother Regulus' and how she 'shouldn't bother coming home for Christmas this year' she certainly had many feelings - angry being the dominant one.

"Sirene?" Sirene heard someone ask, she turned away from the railing to take a look around and saw Sirius standing there, "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing" Sirene said shrugging and going back to looking at the sky.

"I come here often" Sirius told her, standing by the railing and leaning on it.

"So do I" Sirene furrowed her brows, "How come I've never seen you?"

"I don't know, I guess I never come to this side of the tower" Sirius shrugged, "I usually take the third floor balcony, better view of the star Sirius"

"Just when I thought you couldn't make stargazing narcissistic" Sirene chuckled lightly, "So we've been coming to this tower for years without knowing about the other one?"

"Pretty much" Sirius let out a small laugh, "First you stole my birthday and now my peace place"

"No, you stole my birthday! I'm older than you" Sirene said, "And peace place? Really?"

"Shut up, you're only twelve minutes older" Sirius pushed her lightly, "And yeah, peace place"

"The best twelve minutes of my life" Sirine joked, "Peace place sounds good"

The conversation was interrupted by footsteps making their way towards the top of the tower, both of them turned around at the same time to find a Regulus who seemed surprised because of them.

"Regulus?" Sirene and Sirius asked simultaneously in confusion.

"I guess I'll go, don't worry" Regulus said playing with his fingers as always.

"Nonsense, come on" Sirene said, "I think we're having sibling bonding time or whatever"

"Oh, ok" He said unsure about the thing, "What are you guys doing here?"

"We always come here" Sirius said shrugging, "Question is little brother, what are you doing here?"

"I always come here?" Regulus answered, leaning on the railing like the rest of his siblings, "Though I'm always on the second floor balcony"

"Isn't it crazy how we all come to the same place?" Sirine sniggered, "I guess it's a Black thing"

"Hm" Sirius hummed, "I guess it is"

"Got a letter too, did you?" Sirene asked when she noticed him playing with his fingers.

"Yeah" Regulus muttered sadly, his whole body slumping.

The siblings stood in silence for a few minutes, it was no surprise that their parents were tough on them, but sometimes it just got to them more than usual.

Sirene sighed before laying down on the ground and just staring at the night sky, Sirius looked at her weirdly for a moment before taking out a handkerchief, laying it on the ground and then putting his head on it, Regulus hesitated for a minute and then laid down himself and they just silently stared and watch the night sky lose it's midnight blue color and signaling the start of dawn.

"I'm telling you this is not going to work" Remus whisper yelled at the girl in front of him who was busy tying a rope to the pillar, "I regret agreeing to this"

"Are you willing to bet galleons?" Sirene raised his eyebrows, "Let's do ten"

"No" Remus said with an offended look on his face, "I am not going to bet on something that involves my friend's-"

"You spent all your money on chocolates again, didn't you?"

"I couldn't help it!"

"Fine, if I win you do my potions homework and if you win I'll do your transfiguration homework" Sirene raised her hand forward, "Deal?"

"Deal" Remus said shaking her hand firmly.

"Now, let's go over our plan again" Sirene said her face turning solemn, "You bring Marlene to me, Lyra will be coming from the opposite side, I'll trip Marlene with the rope when they talk and she'll fall on Lyra and BOOM, instant staring at each other while they're on the ground moment!"

"How the hell do you know Lyra's going to come from that direction" Remus asked Sirene who shrugged in return.

"I have connections"

"You scare me sometimes"

"Thank you" Sirene bowed dramatically, "Come on now, it's almost time"

Sirene grabbed his forearm and both of them hid behind an empty classroom door, Sirene holding the rope in her hand carefully, not moving it too much so it just laid on the ground.

"What are you guys doing?" Someone asked making Sirene jump and Remus full on shriek.

"James?" Remus asked using lumos to light up his wand, "What the fuck?"

"What are you doing here?!" Sirene exclaimed in a hushed voice, "You know what? Don't answer that just sit down and don't make a sound"

"But-"

"That's a sound"

"Look, look, there she comes" Remus said nudging Sirene, she peaked out of the classroom to see, exactly as expected, Marlene walking towards Lyra with a smile on her face and Lyra oblivious to the situation with a scowl on her face and a book in her hand as she went through her bag.

"Go" Sirene whispered to Remus who put a charm on Marlene that made her stumble forward and in that exact moment Sirene pulled the rope forward making her trip and fall directly on Lyra who let out a yell of surprise.

"I'm a god" Sirene said with a huge smile on her face.

Remus smiled at her before raising his hand for a fist bump as the two girls stared at each other while they were on the ground.

"So this is what you guys were doing in a dark classroom?" James said sitting down next to Sirene and Remus on the ground.

"Yeah" Sirene answered shrugging, "What else would we be doing?"

"Oh, I could name a lot of things-"

"James!" Sirene and Remus exclaimed together making James snigger.

"What?" He asked, "It's not like you didn't get what I mean"

The three of them watched as Marlene was helped back on her feet by Lyra who was now blushing furiously and then both of them started walking together.

"I could've sworn I tripped over a rope" Marlene said to Lyra, "There's no way I tripped over thin air"

"I mean" Lyra chuckled awkwardly, "Is it really such a bad thing that you tripped?"

"No" Marlene said her eyes twinkling as she stared at Lyra with a smile, "No, it isn't"

It's a lighthearted chapter, I know but I like to just write fun stuff sometimes
