PRANK FOR THE PRANKSTERS
XI. PRANK FOR THE PRANKSTERS
Sirene Black, in no way, would consider herself a prank master, but she had to admit it was fun winding people up with stupid things such as flour and sometimes, just sometimes, a shit ton of water.
The rest of the girls, especially Lily Evans, despised pranks, they found them demeaning, disrespectful, arrogant, immature, and evil, their words not hers.
So, you can kind of imagine the surprise for Sirene when they agreed to prank the boys during the train ride to hogwarts.
"Why the fuck are you wearing a rain coat?" Sirene asked Marlene who looked at her, covering her eyes with lab goggles, "And what is that for-"
"Dear, dear Sirene, you didn't think I would waste a good outfit and well done makeup on a prank, did you?" Marlene said pulling her goggles down and giving Sirene a look of disbelief, she pulled out two gloves as well and put them on, clapping her hands together after, "Okay, what's the plan again?"
"Oh for Godric's sake, keep up, Mar" Lily said, struggling to hold up the flour bag herself, "Sirene go over it with her again, will you?"
"Let me help you with that" Alice said kindly, taking the flour bag from Lily and walking inside the compartment the boys always sat in.
"Don't forget the water!" Sirene called out, floating the water bucket into the compartment.
"Right" Lily stared at Sirene blankly, "Magic"
"Wait!" Marlene said to Sirene who looked at her with an exhausted look, having explained the plan already to her, "I want to hear the plan again"
"Ok, fine" Sirene said putting her hands on her hips, blowing the hair out of her face, "This is the last time I'm telling you this, when the boys come, they'll be late as always, they'll find this compartment, as always, they'll open the door to sit in it, as always, and then boom - water first, flour second"
"Got it!" Marlene said, nodding excitedly.
"Do you?" Sirene narrowed her eyes.
"Um, no" Marlene rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly, "But I've got the gist of it, don't worry!"
"Remember" Alice said, getting out of the compartment and releasing a huff of air, "We protect Remus at all costs"
"Yes, that too" Lily said, tying her hair back, and wearing lab goggles.
Everyone looked at her and blinked.
"What?" Lily said confused, "I'm being safe!"
"Sometimes I regret befriending you guys" Sirene said shaking her head at her friends.
"No, you don't" Marlene said, throwing an arm around Sirene and giving her a cheeky smile.
"Wish I did"
⚕️
Four heads were peaking out of the last compartment, watching the corridor warily for any sign of the boys.
"Shh" Lily said to Marlene who was about to sneeze.
"No, you shh" Marlene retorted back.
"Guys, let's not figh-" Alice said calmly.
"Shhh! I see them" Sirene said, silencing the three girls who immediately turned their head back to the corridor.
"Oh, shoot! Remus!" Lily whisper yelled, her eyes widening at the tall boy walking with the rest of the group.
"Stay back" Sirene said hurriedly, getting up and brushing the dust off her clothes, "All of you"
"Why do we have to stay back?" Marlene said, looking up at Sirene with anger because she wanted a first row experience of the plan too.
"Really, Mar?" Sirene said, grabbing Marlene's goggles and pulling on them a bit so they snapped back into place with a 'pop', "Really?"
"Fair enough" Marlene shrugged, rubbing the area where the goggles had hit her a bit.
Sirene quickly made her way towards the boys, walking speedily, and glaring at whoever came into her view so that they would clear the space. She plastered a huge smile on her face as she saw the boys had noticed her but just as they were about to open the compartment door she yelled, "STOP!"
They all looked at her startled a bit at her reaction.
"I mean" Sirene laughed awkwardly, "I just wanted to say hi!"
"Hi?" James said looking at Sirene skeptically.
"Hi!" Sirene said, she had no idea why she was suddenly so nervous, she'd done this a million times before, perhaps it was because she had to protect Remus from going in and sitting down, "Oh, come here!" She said suddenly pulling a very confused Remus down to a hug and turning around swaying a bit.
"Oh, ok" Remus said unsure of what's happening, "This is...nice"
"Don't let go" Sirene said holding him even closer when he was about to pull away, "I need a hug right now"
"Hey are you okay?"
"You know how it is with my family" Sirene brushed it off, hoping Remus will believe her and wouldn't find the fact that she's not the hugging type yet she's been hugging him for almost thirty seconds.
"Oh" Remus said, tightening his hold on her, he knew the things at home were difficult for them but he didn't know they were this bad that it made Sirene hug people.
The others looked at the two weirdly before opening the door, right as they sat down on the compartment seat, Sirene flashed the girls a thumbs up, still hugging Remus who was confused but still hugging her back.
Suddenly, Sirene let go with a huge grin on her face and pulled Remus to the compartment door opening and right then huge amount of water splashed on the boys, Sirene pulled Remus back and started laughing.
"What in the-" Sirius said, rubbing his eyes and pushing hair out of his face.
"Who did this?!" James said angrily, wiping his glasses with his hands.
Right then Lily came forward with an innocent look on her face, "Oh, hello, James!" She spoke cheerily, knowing the use of his first name would confuse the boy.
"Evans? What are you-" James started only to be interrupted by flour falling down on the boys.
Remus gaped at the scene in front of him, Sirius, James and Peter were covered with water and flour - the flour sticking to them even more because of the water, he turned to look at Sirene who gave him wink.
"Wait a minute" Remus said, ignoring the sounds of protests and screams that the boys and the girls were now making, "Is that why you hugged me?"
"Maybe?" Sirene winced a bit, "But it was nice? You're a good hugger!"
"I- I feel so used right now" Remus said childishly crossing his arms and leaning on the compartment door.
"Will a hug make it better?" Sirene asked looking up at Remus with a hopeful grin.
"Depends" Remus said, pretending to think "Will there be any kind of substance falling on anyone else?"
"No" Sirene chuckled, "That was the last one"
"Bring it in then" Remus said rolling his eyes and holding out his arms.
"You know, you really do give nice hugs" Sirene said smiling at him, "Very warm"
"So I've been told" Remus said shrugging, "No hugging me for the purpose of distraction anymore though"
"No promises" Sirene joked making Remus chuckle lightly.
Inside the compartment, Alice was now helping the boys get rid of the flour and water sticking on them using a spell and smiled when it was finally done.
"You've hurt me, Evans" James said pouting and sliding into the seat next to Lily, "Right here" he pat his chest two times.
"I'm not sorry" Lily said rolling her eyes at his immature behavior.
"Well I'll have you know some of the flour went in my eye" James said shaking his head and slumping down on his seat.
"Maybe I am just a little bit sorry" Lily said wincing at the thought of flour getting in his eye.
"You can make up for it"
"How?"
"Go out with me!"
"Absolutely not!"
Lily walks out with a huff, James smiles foolishly, "I like her so much"
Sirius gives him a tired look, "Yes, James we can tell that, all you do is talk about her"
"Yeah, somehow you managed to convert a conversation about the rainy weather to Lily's hair" Peter complained.
"Shut up" James said to the two boys who raised their hands up in mock surrender.
"Flour really suits you, Black" Marlene said with a mischievous smirk on her face, "Just your color"
"I'm sure it'll suit you much better" Sirius said innoncently, "After all you never know when a bag of flour is going to fall on you on your way to the kitchens"
"You wouldn't dare"
"Try me"
"Come on, Marks, let's get back to our compartment" Alice said, grabbing a hold of Marlene's arm and rushing out of the compartment.
"As if I'm going to let someone ruin my trip to the Hogwarts kitchen" Marlene scoffed making Alice chuckle.
"Hey, Si! You coming?" Alice called out to the girl who was talking excitedly to Remus about the camera James had given her.
Sirene turned to look at Alice with a nod, "Coming!" She said bye to Remus and soon joined the girls in the compartment where they talked about their Christmas at home and watched the scenes change through the compartment window.
Hi, this is the ending note. Bye.
