XXVIII. MISCOMMUNICATION PROBLEMS

Sirene Black was miserable, and angry and she was stuck in a hospital bed, so, it's not really surprising that all the stuff she thought of yesterday went out of the window when Sirius failed to arrive in the hospital wing. Seriously, not even for a second, even his stupid girlfriend came to check up on her.

    "I'm going to kill him" Lily said angrily pacing the hospital bed, "Who does he think he is, ruining my date like that?"

    "Lily" Sirene said with a sigh, "It's James, what did you expect?"

     "I know!" Lily said with a groan, "It's like everytime I think he's getting tolerable, he goes ahead and then does something crazy!"

     "Do you not want him to do something crazy, Lils?" Sirene said taking a sip of her potion that was next to her bedside table and then gagging immediately afterwards at the taste, "You seem more upset about him not being the 'normal James' than him crashing your date" she used her fingers to do quotation marks.

     "I- I don't know" Lily stuttered seeming to be in loss for words, "Oh my bloody godric, what the hell am I doing with my life?"

     "Lily, look at me" Sirene said trying to stop the girl from having a panic attack, "It's fine, deep breaths, come on! In and out"

     "Ok, it's fine" Lily said chuckling before taking deep breaths and putting her hands on her waist, "It'll just pass, it's just a phase"

     "I-" Sirene started looking at the redhead who looked at her expectantly, "Sure" Sirene shrugged and Lily gave her a thankful look.

     "Ooh, I've got to go" Lily said checking her watch, "You'll be ok, right? I'll come check up on you later, bye" Lily rushed over giving Sirene a kiss on her head and a side hug.

    "Ok, I-" Sirene stared at the disappearing figure of her best friend, "Have a great day!"

    Sirene released a sigh before taking a sip of her potion and gagging again, this sure was helping her not focus on everything else but the disgusting taste. Madam Pomfrey came around and then handed her another potion. Great.

     "Ok, and it's not like I expect him to just get it" Lauren said pacing around Sirene's bed, "I just thought because of our 'furry little problems' he would stop pushing me away!"

    "You know what?" Sirene said from her bed as Lauren turned around to face her, "You're totally right! But at the same time, he's Remus, he wouldn't want to hurt you in any way possible and I think that's what scares him"

    "Well, how's he going to hurt me?" Lauren said sitting down on the bed right on Sirene's leg, muttering a 'sorry' but Sirene waved her off, "It's not like it can happen twice, you know?"

    "Look, with Moony, it's really complicated at first, he believes that he's almost a bad luck charm of some sort" Sirene starts explaining, using her hands to show her emotion more, "But once you convince him that you're not a piece of china and instead you're a plastic or paper, whichever you prefer, cup that can't break because he's clumsy, he won't let you go, no matter what happens"

     "You know what? Your weird metaphors actually worked" Lauren got up with a determined expression on her face, "I'm not going to give up on him, just because he thinks it's better for me to do so, I'm a grown ass woman - almost - and I'm going to do whatever the hell I want! I'm going to show him I'm made of plastic!"

    "You go, girl!" Sirene exclaimed giving Lauren a thumbs up and a huge smile to encourage her, "Show him what you're made of!"

    "Thank you so much for this!" Lauren said quickly coming up to give Sirene a side hug, "I've got to go now! Take care!"

     "Ok!" Sirene said to her friend who was now walking away with almost a skipping sprint, she shook her head at the blonde.

    Probably the one of the most unexpected friendships was Sirene and Lauren's, Lauren's a perky blonde who looks at things with a optimistic personality, and let's just say Sirene's a bit on the....dark side?

     Nonetheless, she wouldn't trade their friendship for anything.

    "Madam Pomfrey" Sirene called out with an innocent voice, Madam Pomfrey came rushing over.

    "What is it, dear?" Madam Pomfrey asked Sirene wiping her hands on a towel, "Do you need more painkilling potions? Sleep draught?"

    "Can I go, now?"

    "So, you can starve while you bleed all day? No, I don't think so"

    "Worth a try"

     "I can't do it, Si" Marlene said putting her head in her hands, "I can't- I'm not ready, I don't- I don't want to lose her, I can't lose her"

    "Marlene" Sirene said patting the space next to her and motioning for Marlene to get over there, "Come on"

    Marlene sighed before sitting down next to Sirene on the bed, and then putting her head in her hands again. Sirene sighed and then hugged the girl who returned it almost immediately.

    "I can't afford to lose her, Si" Marlene said as she started to cry, "But she's so ready, she's ready to dive in and I'm not"

    "Maybe you don't have to be" Sirene said in a soothing voice rubbing her back awkwardly, she doesn't usually deal with the crying, Alice is the best at it. "You can just tell her, Mar, she's going to understand, despite the fact that having a gay relationship isn't exactly the easiest you two are perfect, you're actually the best, you're so easy. You guys just make sense"

    "I don't want to hurt her" Marlene said wiping her tears and then wiping her snot on the tissue, "She's so perfect, she's amazing"

    "Can I tell you something?" Sirene said looking at Marlene and seeing her nod, "The very fact that you're crying about the possibility of hurting her, shows how much you don't want to hurt her ever and any girl would appreciate that."

    "You're right" Marlene said sniffling and then blew her nose on the tissue, "You're such a good friend, I love you"

    "Yeah, alright go get out of here" Sirene joked pushing Marlene out of her bed, "Go get her, tiger"

    "I'm going to come see you later!" Marlene said taking up her stuff and then hurrying out of the door.

    Sirene sighed before looking around, hoping to see her brother somewhere out there, but of course he wasn't.

    A first year rushed in the hospital wing with a scared expression on her face, he walked over to Sirene's bed and actually flinched when she gave him a glare, he held up a letter and then threw it on her immediately to duck under the beds and then run away army-crawling.

    "First years, man" Sirene rolled her eyes opening the letter with an annoyed expression on her face.

     Sirene stared at the letter dumbfounded, can they even do that? Kick her out because of her parents? Really? Is the world fucking kidding her right now? She literally feels like she could roll into a blanket burrito and cry right now.

    "Oh, great" James said rushing in the hospital wing, "You're awake"

    Sirene rubbed her eyes and then shoved the letter under her blanket, looking up at him with a bored expression.

    "Lily problems?" She asked the boy who nodded with a pout, "Do you need to hug and talk?"

    James nodded again.

    Sirene rolled her eyes and then motioned for James to sit next to her on the bed, "Come on, spit all your feelings out"
