XVIII. HOWLERS AND CHOCOLATES

     Yeah, remember when Sirene got hit right in the chest with a bludger? And then fainted? Turns out a chaser had actually been the one to hit her, and after that Sirius kinda started a fight and then James may have participated in the fight too, and Marlene may have punched the chaser right in the face.

     So, yeah...

     That's why eight beds of the hospital wings are taken up, four of them have Marlene, James, Sirius and Sirene and the other four are the ones occupied by Slytherin team members.

     "...my eyes" Sirene said putting her hand on her eyes when the light was shining through and hitting her face, she felt a sharp pain around her rips and abdomen right after doing that, "Ow, my ribs!"

     "Bloody hell, be quiet!" She heard a voice groan from the bed next to her.

     Sirene recognized the voice to be Sirius's and asked, "What are you doing here?"

     "More like we" Marlene said from the other side of Sirene, "We got into a fight"

     "About what?" Sirene frowned, "It's fine I just got hit-"

     "By a chaser" James said from his bed, "The person who hit you wasn't a beater, she was a chaser"

     "Oh, Godric!" Sirene groaned, "Seriously? They can't even play one game without cheating?"

     "They are right here!" Some Slytherin girl exclaimed from the other side of the room.

     "And they will be here for a long long time if they don't shut up!"

     "Oh, finally you all are awake!" Lauren said walking in with a bag full of what Sirene hoped was food, "I got you this!"

     "Lauren?" Sirene asked with her brows furrowed, "What are you doing here? Isn't this out of visiting hours?"

     "Yeah, but I'm Madam Pomfrey's niece so I have advantages" Lauren shrugged, setting up the table for everyone on their bed.

     "I hope you know" Marlene said with her mouth full of toast, "That I'll love you forever for this!"

     "I certainly hope so" Lauren chuckled, "I had to go to the kitchens for this since I would look like a weirdo carrying all this food from the Great Hall by myself"

     "We appreciate it" James said taking a huge bite of his toast.

     "We do!" Sirius and Sirene chimes in together, while Marlene muttered something incoherent.

     "It's alright" Lauren said, "I like doing stuff like this, makes me happy"

     "You're an angel!" Marlene said to Lauren who just waved her hand as if to say 'I know'.

     "I hope you know I hate every single one of you!" Remus exclaimed pacing around the beds, "Do you know what it was like to be able to do absolutely nothing from the stands? And Sirius! I expected more from you, and you James-"

    "Calm down, Remus" Lily said with a chuckle, "It's not like they haven't gotten into fights before"

    "Well you did scare us a lot" Alice said to the teenagers who looked like kids getting yelled at by their parents, "Especially with how bad you got hurt"

     "I couldn't just leave them!" Sirius exclaimed, "The chaser hit Sirene in the chest and broke her ribs!"

     "And I couldn't just let Sirius fight alone" James said playing with his fingers as he got stared down at by Remus and Lily.

     "I have no proper reason" Marlene said, "But that bitch was asking for it!"

     "Marlene!" Remus, Lily and Alice said together.

     "What?" Marlene said with furrowed brows, "It's not like you weren't all thinking it!"

     "True" Sirene said with a shrug.

     "I would kill for a butterbeer right now" Sirius said falling down on his bed, "I miss it"

     "We would be having butterbeer right now if you idiots hadn't decided to pick up a fight and then-"

     "Remus" Lily said warningly at the boy who was raised his hand in mock surrender.

     "Hey guys!" Peter stumbled in, "I got you all this, I couldn't help you in any other way so I did what I do best, food."

    "Aw, Peter!" Marlene said, "You shouldn't have!"

    "You're a lifesaver!" Sirene exclaimed taking a few chocolate frogs from him.

    "What she said" James and Sirius said together, their focus entirely on the sweets.

     Regulus walked in on the exact moment everyone put a chocolate frog in their mouth, biting aggressively, with an uneasy expression on his face.

     "Reg?" Sirius asked him, "What's up?"

     "Just came to check up and hand you these" Regulus said hurriedly putting down two howlers next to their bedside table and walking out of the hospital wing.

    "Weird kid" Marlene said with a frown.

    "Oh, he's alright" Sirene rolled her eyes, "He just doesn't have much experience socializing with Gryffindors"

    "Or socializing at all" Sirius chuckled but stopped after Sirene threw him a glare.

    "What should we do with these?" Sirene asked, holding up the howlers and staring at it with a disgusted expression, "I say we burn it!"

    "I think we should just mail it back to them"

    "Ooh, nice one!"

    "Or you could open them?" James said with his mouth full.

     "Nah" Sirene and Sirius said together, taking up the howlers and muttering, "Incendio" and throwing them in the bin.

     "Aw" Sirius said before covering it up with a cough, "I mean, ah Regulus got us get well soon cards"
