Doctor's appointment
3rd POV:
It was not a day like every other day in the lives of Izuku Midoriya. Today was his 4th birthday and the family made a doctor's appointment to see what his quirk was. You see his mother loved him dearly and his father never paid him any respect nor did he really bother to look at the young child. He simply hated the look of the boy fully aware that it wasn't his biological son. The only reason Hisashi was tolerating this child was because of Inko. He loved his wife dearly.
Izuku on the other hand didn't know why his father hated him or ignored him. He was happy that his mother loved him and that was all he needed and all he ever asked for. Little did he know that it would be the last time he felt this kind of love for years to come.
Inko's POV:
Today was Izuku's birthday, I prepared his favorite cake and decorated the living room. After the doctor's appointment we would have a little party for him. The Bakugo's are also invited to coming over. My only hope was that he wouldn't have his father's quirk! I couldn't stand the thought of him having such a quirk. It pains me to look at his father's pro-hero figure in his room. The man stole my heart and I was simply never able to get it back fully. I managed to forget him and the pain he brings me.
Izuku didn't look like his father the least. He had my hair and facial features mix with my mothers, his grandmother. Hopefully he would gain a quirk like me or my mother too. I am sure Hisashi would love that too.
It wasn't his fault. My beloved child loved all the pro-heroes out there and although his room was covered in All Might merch, he also had figures of every other hero. It is still surprising to see how good he was at analyzing the heroes or a situation. If I didn't know better, I would assume he had an intelligence quirk or an analyzing quirk. There was a slim chance that he had one but as far as I know none of my family had or the child's father family had such a quirk.
It was still early and it was time to wake the birthday boy up. I went to his room and knocked. After waiting some time without a response, I decided to open the door.
Me: Sweetie are you up?
I could see him still fast asleep so I decided to go to his bedside and sit on one end.
Me: Izuku sweet heart, Happy Birthday to You... Happy Birthday to You...
I simply sang a little happy birthday song to my cute little sleeping green bean. A lot of people told me that I had an amazing voice. It was calming. I tend to sing a lot when I don't know how to deal with my emotions and I made it an habit to wake Izuku up on his birthday with a little song. He loved it, when I was singing a song to him no matter if it was a sad song or one full of happiness. Izuku always understood how to calm me down after a hard day or when I was sad. It was as if he knew the meaning of the song. If he was older than just 4 years I wouldn't be surprised but the boy simply could tell how I felt from the sound of my voice.
After I finished singing a little birthday song, a pair of shining bright emerald eyes were locking at me.
Izuku: Morning Mommy!
Me: A good morning to you to sweet heart. Now come on, let's get ready for our appointment. We wouldn't want to be late, now would we?
Izuku: Nuh-uh! A hero is never late!
Me: You are right my little hero!
After I helped him change and we sat together at the dining table as a family and ate breakfast.
Hisashi: Good morning my love! Mhmm~ your food is simply the best as always.
My husband always compliments me this way and I always respond with a sweet kiss. He helped me get over Izuku's father. I know that deep down I love that man but right now, I had a family of my own, a husband that loves me and a child that comes after me. What can I ask for more?
I learned to despise the child's father after 2 years being married to Hisashi. After 4 whole years I hated him and his quirk. I hated how he made me feel. I hated the time I spend with him and the day he left me. I never told him he had a child. I simply didn't want him in my life anymore.
Me: Honey, I will be leaving with Izuku to his doctor's appointment we will be back in about an hour.
Hisashi: I sure hope he will have one like yours. Telekinesis is simply the best quirk you can have, don't you think?
Izuku's eyes widen at his statement, they were filled with joy and I could see how much he would love that. I knew that the question wasn't meant for him to answer but he couldn't help himself.
Izuku: Mommy I want one exactly like yours!
Me: haha, oh Izuku you can't choose your quirk.
--- Time skip brought to you by the sun that is hiding in shame because of small Izuku's smile ---
3rd POV: At the Doctor's appointment
Nurse: The Midoriya's please?
Inku: Ah that would be us!
Nurse: Please follow me.
The little greenette followed his mother to the doctor's room and although he was scared of what they would do to him to find out his quirk, he was t0o curious to mind anything that will happen. He mentally prepared himself before they stepped foot into the room.
Doctor: Hello there little fella, you must be Izuku right.
Izuku nodded in respond. The doctor then explained to him what they would do basically just some simple test to see in which category the boy's quirk could fall in. After an hour of testing, they concluded that Izuku's quirk was a mutation of quirks. They couldn't find out the exact effects of his quirk as it was the first time such an quirk come to existence. It was rare to have a mutation of quiks but it has happened before and when it does the quirk would be powerful.
Doctos: May I ask what his parents quirks are?
Before answering the doctor's question, the woman went to his son's side and covered his ear in order to not hear her answer. Izuku didn't mind that as he was currently lost in thought of the possibilities of his quirk. He was thinking about all the different quirks out there and how he loved to have each and every one especially his mother's. He didn't care what type of quirk he would have, he was sure he would love it and become one of the best heroes there is out there.
Inko: Mine is a weak telekinesis and his father has a voice amplification quirk.
Doctor: Ok and what about your parents and his parents?
Inko: I don't know about his parents but my father has a mental quirk and my mother has a stronger version of mine. Why are you asking this?
Doctor: Hmm, you see your son has a mutation of quirks. It is rare nowadays but it still happens. As far as we know he has some kind of quirk that is activated via his voice. We are not sure what he can do with it exactly. What we do know is that he is able to use some form of telekinesis by voice command.
Inko was shocked to hear that his son's quirk was related to his father's. In that moment, something changed in her. She dropped her hands from Izuku's ears. This made the boy snap out of his thoughts.
Izuku: Doctor? What is my quirk?
Doctor: Your quirk is a voice type of quirk. We concluded that you could lift things up with a voice command.
Izuku: That's so cool.
Doctor: Yes it is. And, do you know what is better?
Izuku: No? What is it?
Izuku tilted his head in confusion. What can be better than this? He was overjoyed to have a quirk much less a quirk that is similar to his mothers.
Doctor: You will be able to do a lot of things with your voice.
Izuku was now clearly confused. He didn't know that this was possible.
Izuku: What kind of things.
Doctor: That we don't know yet. Your quirk will manifest itself in a couple of days and we think that yours also has a mental effect on others. We are not sure what it can do else, but that's something for you to find out.
Doctor: Now it is the first time we saw such a quirk and we need a name to register it in the database. What would you like to call it Izuku?
Izuku: You said it was a voice quirk with some mental and telekinesis aspect, right?
Doctor: That's what we think it is.
Izuku: Hmmm, than I would like to call it 'Voice Manipulation'!
Doctor: Let's see if the name is available.... and it is. I put it down in the database. Now congrats on your quirk Izuku and I wish you a happy birthday. Now off you go, I have a lot to do and you don't want to waste your special day here in my office.
Izuku: Ok by!
Inko: Goodbye!
Inko was speechless. Once she heard his quirk and what it can do, well more like the possibility of the quirk, she hated it and she hated his son for it, he simply resembled his father more than her. She didn't wanted to have anything that is bloodrelated that resembles that man.
The moment they stepped into their apartment she called her best friend Mitsuki and told her that her son wasn't feeling well. The party was canceled and the poor boy didn't know what was awaiting for him. He was so happy and he thought his mother would be too but he was so very wrong.
