Chapter 6; Fragile

"Fragile"

"All I can ever ask of you is to stay. Just stay." ~Unknown

I paced around the throne room occasionally making eye contact with Bakugou. Uraraka opened a door and motioned for Todoroki to follow her, catching the attention, and suspicion, of Bakugou.

"The hell is wrong with this kingdom." I heard Bakugou mumble.

"Excuse me? In a few months you're going to be the king of this kingdom." I snapped at him.

"Shut the fuck up." He hissed.

"I'm not sure what your problem is, but you need to see that not every land is rich and can afford a war." I held my ground.

"Maybe you should've thought about that before you ran off with some other guy!" He yelled, taking a step towards me.

"I didn't run off with some other guy! He was talking to me and I was being a good princess and listening to what he had to say, unlike somebody!" I stepped forward as well, closing the gap between us.

"Don't speak to me like that!" He raised his hand to threaten me but I stared into his crimson eyes.

"You won't do anything." I pushed him farther and farther.

"Don't test me." His words dripped with venom.

"I already have." I felt a sting on my left cheek quickly followed by Bakugou storming off. I stood, breathing heavily and staring at the ground. The stinging faded, slowly, and I went to go find Uraraka, Tsu, and Todoroki. Surely having a red mark on the left of my face.

I wandered through the halls. Hearing the whispers of guards watching for the assassin. Each step echoing off the stone floors and walls. I opened the door to the kitchen, but it was empty. I looked around at all the herbs Uraraka had grown. One in particular caught my eye. It was a pure white and looked like a raindrop.

"Uraraka? Are you in here?" I called out.

"Back here." She called from the garden. I calmly walked out and wrapped my arms around the brunette's shoulders.Tsu was busy taking care of the frogs that lived in the garden, while Uraraka stood in front of Todoroki.

"Why'd you leave me with him?" I mumbled into her back.

"Because we needed to know more about him." She pointed at Todoroki.

"Well? What'd you find out?" I looked up at the heterochromic boy.

"The good thing is, he's a fish eating Siren. But..." Her voice trailed off.

"What? 'But' what?" I released her and looked at her then at Todoroki.

Todoroki P.O.V.

I stood there, face to face with Uraraka. She had examined me, and asked so many questions about myself. "What do you eat..." She had said, palming a small plant.

"I only eat fish and occasionally some sharks or whales..." She took a sigh of relief before continuing with her list of questions.

I looked solemnly out the window, out to sea. The waves crashed against the shore line, sending sharp chills down my spine.

I suddenly remembered the part of the deal that I had to keep. "...Do you have any idea where to find someone who has muscles or isn't small in size?" I heard Tsu behind me gasp.

I turned to look at her, she was staring at me, anger in her eyes. "Who did you make a deal with." She said her voice became low pitched. I didn't respond, I knew that she would send me right back if she knew.

"Answer me!" She said, anger and fear covering her features. "I..." I said not wanting to reveal the truth.

"It was Dabi. Wasn't it...?" She said. I felt my eyes go wide, my heart speed up, like a rapid beat of dread. She saw my reaction and the anger in her features worsened.

"What in your right mind thought it was a good idea to make a deal with him!? Are you insane!?"

I looked at the floor without saying a word. "Do you know why he wants a human? I can tell you it's not for a 3 course meal."

I looked at her, in shock. "What do you mean...?" I said.

She looked me dead in the eyes and said, "He is planning a ritual to gain the power to be a human, but the easy way. But that's not all. He wants to take over this kingdom with his human accomplices."

I stood there in shock. I didn't know that's what he wanted, I didn't know he wanted to destroy such a beautiful place. Then I realized that he would go after (Y/N.) I felt my heart sink, like a rock dropped into the deep blue depths of the sea.

"Uraraka? Are you in here?" I heard someone say from the kitchen."

"Back here!" Uraraka said as he turned to face the door. I made one last glance at Tsu before turning around to see, (Y/N) in the doorway.

She walked towards Uraraka and embraced her. She mumbled something to her but I couldn't hear it.

Uraraka responded as she ended the hug, "Because we needed to know more about him." She said as she pointed at me.

"Well, what did you find out?" (Y/N) said glancing over at me. That's when I saw a red mark on her cheek. It was unusually large, and it had the slight appearance of a hand.

'Had someone struck her!?' I thought, as anger boiled under my skin.

"The good thing is, he's a fish eating Siren. But..." Uraraka said, smiling.

"What? 'But' what?" (Y/N) said, transferring her attention to me.

"He..." She began to say, before Tsu cut Uraraka off, "He has to go back." I turned to look at Tsu, shock consuming me.

"What? But why?" (Y/N) said, a type of sadness came over her features.

"He just has to, for the greater good." Tsu said, staring at me. "But it's my decision, not yours." I said.

We just glared at each other for a long while before (Y/N) Broke the silence, "What's going on...?"

No one answered me. They were hiding something and I needed to know.

"What's going on?" I asked again, trying to sound demanding.

"(Y/N)-" Uraraka started.

"He made a deal with an extremely dangerous Siren and the entire kingdom is now in danger." Tsu cut in and I felt my eye twitch.

"You two. Fix it." I pointed at Tsu and Todoroki. "You. Help me, please." I looked at Uraraka and huffed.

"You need tea." She nodded and grabbed my arm, pulling me into the kitchen and very forcefully into a chair.

"I feel like I'm losing my mind." I thought out loud cupping my hands together. Uraraka started to make some tea but I heard her whisper something under her breath. I looked at her to see what was wrong but she stared at me, a look of anger and sadness dawning her features. "What? What's wrong?" I studied her.

"Why is there a mark on your face?" He hands balled into fists. I brought my hand to my cheek.

"It's nothing." I shook my head.

"Did he...?" I could hear the anger boiling in her.

"Uraraka, it was my fault. I-I pushed him too far and I shouldn't've." I choked.

"It wasn't your fault!" She yelled. I stared blankly at her, not expecting to hear her yell. "I'm sorry I...it's just...I care about you, (Y/N). And seeing someone treat you like this..." She sat at the small table.
