Review
Book title:
Always Your Keeper. The title comes across strong, interesting and captivating. It didn't fail to arouse interest in me to find out who it's talking about when I read it. I liked the fact that the title is clearly blatant. It tells me the book is going to be a romance. It gives a tiny view of what the you are going to encounter inside. (9/10)
Cover:
Definitely romantic! It gives a clear picture of a young pretty lady yearns to do more than just kiss the other beautiful girl. Bright and beautiful background photo and the texts in white letters looks nice. I liked how the title is in huge texts, clear and visible. The background and text compliment each other well. I'd still suggest you can change the font in different styles to make it more attractive. (7.5/10)
Description:
I'll be honest here, it isn't as intriguing as I expected after seeing the cover and reading the title. Description is supposed to strike interest instantly and it didn't do much for me. It subtly talked about Reagan's feelings for Avery and her parents situation. Frankly, it only gave rough view of what prologue basically said. In the last, a small sneak peek on the crimes taking place. Overall, it tells the readers the book is a sweet lesbian romance and something to do with their parents marriage and lastly gives an idea of the suspenseful crimes.
For some reason it slightly felt off, and everything together didn't do much to strike that type of interest in me. It felt to me as if main plot information was just dumped without trying to make it captivating. Don't get me wrong it's not bad but it's just not the best and I know you can do really better.
I'm sorry if I'm being harsh here but after reading your book I just don't want anyone to turn their backs after reading the description for not finding it much appealing.
I'd suggest you to give more interesting details in an intriguing manner that would make it hard for anyone to put the book down. I know you can do that!(4.3/10)
Plot:
AMAZING! Seriously, I loved the plot and oh my god the twists! Romance finely blent with thriller! Just delicious! And honestly, I couldn't keep the book out of my head. To read more was a constant craving. And trust me that's a very good thing!
The prologue was finely described. How Reagan was head over heels and suddenly it takes a whole U turn for her! Very interesting.
Reagan's character is no doubt fascinating. The troublesome girl who doesn't care about nothing on the planet earth but only the one girl who has no idea about her feelings. And the fact she cannot do anything about it because of her parents, it makes her more miserable. Her passion for Avery at times made me feel very bad for her. It's a ride to encounter how she tries to suppress her feelings and fails everytime falling deeper. Avery's confession was just another holy twist for sure!
I have to say the plot is extremely unique! Loving someone isn't easy in the first place and when you finally fall hard, suddenly you find out they're now your step sibling, undeniably horrible. Then over that, everything turns upside down when secrets come out! I only enjoyed reading it! (9.4/10)
Grammar:
No huge errors or grammatical problems. I must say, you have a good hold on vocabulary & language. I appreciate how clean the chapters look. (9/10)
~Pros:
• Unique storyline.
• Good vocabulary & grammar.
• Beautifully described scenes.
• Strong characters.
• Romance with hints of thriller and suspense.
~Cons:
• No aesthetic.
• Less involvement of other important side characters.
• Less encounters that indirectly could tell readers above Avery's feelings for Reagan.
Overall ratings: (8.5/10)
Always Your Keeper is undoubtedly a good book for me. Cherry on the cake the mysterious criminal. The thriller & suspense of the crimes constantly taking place is a much intriguing side again.
I liked how Reagan's love & her efforts are described interesting in every chapter. Her jealousy for Celeb, happiness to see her happy, frustration to tell her the truth, hurt after hurting her, pain for she won't reciprocate her feelings... All the emotions touches so correctly and makes the book a hit!
I'd just suggest to improvise the description part a little.
Just an advice for you. I saw you don't reply to comment much. It can be very helpful sometimes if you become more interactive with those sweet soles. A lot readers can turn out to be the best humans who could help you with the book too.
Keep writing & complete the book as soon as possible!
