Scallywags of Atlantis |Chapter One|
Truly turns in the mirror, checking that her blue jean shorts make her butt look great. Unfortunately, she doesn't have much to work with, and her flat booty hasn't suddenly grown voluptuous.
"Are you as excited as I am?" Her suitemate, Lynsee, is practically vibrating. The tiny blonde is a new pledge of Theta Psi Sigma, just like Truly. "Our first Frat party!"
A smile spreads across Truly's thin face. "Aye, and from what I've heard from te other lasses, Psi Omega has te best parties." Not that Truly knows what a good or bad party is. She wasn't allowed to go to any in high school. She turns in the mirror and straightens the white t-shirt with the Theta Sig emblem on it. Truly's head tilts to the side. Her brown hair shifts off her shoulder. Like her shorts, the top hasn't worked its magic and suddenly spurted her B-cup into the double D's she's always dreamed about.
"Are you planning on working what your momma gave you tonight?" A smirk shows up on Lynsee's face.
Truly sighs, giving up hope. "I would if me mum would have given me more t'an t'is. If t'ere is a lad t'at likes a skinny lassie with no ass or boobs, I'm set."
Lynsee snorts and tilts her head to their door, where other sisters are passing by. "Well let's go find this magic man."
Truly follows Lynsee and the others into the hall and down their sorority's grand sweeping white marble stairs. Outside, Greek Row is already booming. Different blaring music fills the air as their beats fight against each other. Like moths to the flame, they're drawn to Psi's giant brick colonial mansion, where a dark, dangerous beat reminds the masses just which fraternity is the baddest. A giant crimson crest hangs centrally off their white portico with a black skull looms in the middle framed by their ΨΩ with swords beneath. On each side, two skull and crossbones flags hang down between the pillars. It's a vast contrast to the other houses' cheerier fronts. Psi's lawn glows a deep red from lights they have set up on the porch, sporting their black and crimson colors as they project their Greek letters upon the walk path.
Excitement grows in Truly's gut, and her eyes grow wide in wonder as she feels the wild energy from those above. Several Greek houses mix and mingle through the lawn and spill over the threshold of the home. Her grey eyes lock on her assigned big sister Avery. Thankfully, the redhead drops back to Truly and Lynsee.
"The actual party is in the back and inside." She reaches out and grabs Truly's hand. She pulls Truly around the back of the house with a tug, where they join a stifling mass of people.
Truly's jaw drops as she watches people bouncing to music and sucking down drinks. The only gap in the crowd is where the pool backs against the house in the large yard, and even that has people in it.
Holographic skull and crossbones projected against the wall as strobe lights add the vibe. Truly can feel it in her veins. The need to be wild and free takes over.
"This is insane!" Lynsee shouts as she comes up next to her with her big sister, Heather.
A smile spreads across Avery's face, making her already strong jaw look even more square. "This is nothing. Let me show you the basement, ladies." She wiggles her auburn brows before leading the girls into the fraternity's party central. The music pounds Truly's ears and vibrates through her body and chest.
As they reach the bottom, a boy throws his arms up to his mouth and yells loudly. "Fuck yeah!"
Truly's eyes go wide as she looks around the room, not exactly sure what's going on.
"Yeah, we're gunning for you!" Every boy in black or crimson hollers back and stomps their feet. "The brothers of Psi Omega are here and coming for you!"
Turning towards them, one of the nearby boys lunges playfully towards Avery.
She pulls back and squeals as a huge grin crosses her face. Beside her, Heather huffs and rolls her eyes.
"Fuck yeah!" All the boys yell again.
A look of realization crosses Truly's face. Oh, It's a frat chant. Excitement grows within Truly, and the vibe of the party only feeds it.
"Ye best pay attention because Psi Omega's here!"
As they step down into the room, Truly realizes it's completely packed, forcing the four girls to push their way to the right and into a sectioned-off room that's a bar with seating. While Avery and Heather order drinks, Truly moves more towards the bar's entry and glances into the other part of the room. Off to the side of the room, people enthusiastically gather around a narrow rectangular table. Ten black and red cups sit at each end. Two guys stand in front of each triangle row of cups, clearly egging the other on as they play.
Truly's breath catches in her chest when she sees the waiting man. He's the most beautiful guy she's ever seen. His thick, wavy dark hair is brushed back, and there's a smug look on his gorgeous face. His full lips pull up in a smirk, and suddenly the only thing Truly can think about is what those lips would feel like on hers.
"Avery?" Truly looks over her shoulder at her towering big sister and points like an idiot toward the beer pong god before her. "Who's t'at?"
Avery's attention follows Tru's finger. A look of lust fills her big sister's eyes as her lips part. "That's Kade. One of Psi's finest. Isn't he to die for?" Unable to resist, Avery's drawn like a magnet, joining the ring of girls already around Kade.
Tru's heart drops slightly when the grim truth that she doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of ever talking to him sinks in. Especially with the horde of girls hanging around him. A pout forms on her face as Heather wraps a caring arm around her.
"It's better to just stay away, sweetie. That one will eat you alive. He's bad news. I've heard his brothers talking. They call whoever of those girls," she points to the girls Avery's joined, "he and his friends end up with their flavors of the week, if they're lucky they'll last a month." The light brown-haired girl turns a sympathetic look to Truly as she hands her a cup full of golden liquid. "You're way too sweet to fall victim to him. He'll only play with you and break your heart."
One that would get me dad snatching my arse home in a heartbeat. Stay the hell away from the mega hottie, check. Truly takes a sip when the bitters hit her tongue, her nose wrinkles in disgust. "What is t'is shite?!"
Heather chuckles and takes a drink of her cup. "Beer, sweety."
"T'is ain't beer." Truly glares down at the stout that has now offended her and her heritage.
"Finally!" A light-hearted male voice decrees as a boy with wild brown hair that's sticking straight up in a way that screams it's not intentional throws his arm over Heather's shoulder. "This," he points his cup at Truly as he flashes them both a carefree grin, "is a lass I want to meet. She has taste!"
Heather jumps slightly at his touch, but once she realizes who it is, she relaxes. "Yell in my goddamn ear, why don't you, Killy."
"FOR YOU, UNI, ANYTHING!" Killian grins widely at her before he takes a sip from his black cup with five red stars drawn onto it.
Heather cringes and covers her ear. "Gee, thanks, ass." She shoves her elbow in his gut before pointing her thumb at him. Her amber gaze shifts to Truly. "This dumbass is Killian."
"Killy!" he corrects, as he throws Heather a look of irritated disbelief for using his full name.
"I'll stop when you stop calling me Uni and unicorn." She narrows her eyes in a challenging glance. Even though Heather is acting like she's irritated by Killian's presence, Truly notices her slip around Killian's waist.
Killian casts Heather an offended look. "But yer my precious unicorn. The splash of vanilla to my bitter black heart. See." He points down to her bid week shirt with the purple unicorn on it.
"Oh god." Heather rolls her eyes. "He's in charge of Psi Omega's public relations, and since I take care of Theta Sig's I'm forced to work with him a lot."
"She loves every minute." Killian winks at Truly. "Dreams about the next event just so she can see me." A twinkle of mischief fills his eyes as he briefly squeezes Heather with the arm over her shoulder.
Heather snorts and elbows him in the gut again, though a hint of a smile forms in the corner of her lips.
Truly chuckles and holds her hand out to the boy. "Truly. It's nice ta meet ye."
"I know I am awesome ta meet." Killian grins, but there's something off about him that tells them not all of this is just his playful personality. He's drunk. "What's yer name Unicorn's baby unicorn?"
Truly shakes her head. "T'at is me name, Truly."
An amused smile spreads across Heather's face as she watches the two of them interact, knowing Killian is too tipsy to pick up that Truly is trying to tell him her name.
"Truly what?" He tilts his head, lightly bumping it against Heather's as he shifts more into her and takes another sip of his drink.
"Truly! T'at's me name, Truly!" Truly grows more frustrated, mostly because this happens to her often.
Killian furrows his brows and angles his body so that his side presses against Heather's as his eyes shift to her. "Uni, me beloved Theta Sig, what is your little sister's name and...." He lifts his cup and puts it inches from her face. "What number exactly is this? It's the good shite." He adds as he brings his finger up to his lips and leans in so that their lips are only a few inches apart. "Shhh... Don't tell those other arses, with no taste."
Heather's brow playfully raises as she pushes him back a bit. "She truly isn't my little sister. She's Avery's and you truuuly haven't caught her name yet, Killy?" Heather looks around the room. "Speaking of little sisters, where's your little brother? Were they smart enough not to pair you with one?"
Killian scoffs at her. "I'm responsible and an officer. See!" Placing his drink against Heather's lips, he tips it up for her to take a sip.
"Uh huh." Heather lightly coughs since it was a bigger taste than she expected. "You lost him, didn't you?"
Scanning the room, he turns his attention back to Heather. "Now Uni." His tone turns reproachful as he points his cup at her. "Can you really lose a lad you haven't seen yet?"
"You got out of bed right before this party started, didn't you?" Her gaze drifts up to his wild bed hair before it drops to lack of shirt. "You did." Heather shakes her head. "You are the worst big brother ever."
"Now that's just rude!" Killy's eyes narrow and his lips over pucker, showing her he started drinking first rather than eating. "I let him have some of me stash..." He pauses for a moment as his brows cutely scrunch in concentration. "I think. It was some scrawny arse little pledge, just like him. I know that much."
"I think you mean, ain't that the truth, honey." She playfully smirks at him.
Killian rolls his eyes. "That's far from the truth. He's somewhere." He gestures around them with the hand on her shoulder.
"Since I have my own little sister to take care of, and Avery left Truly to drool over Kade, why don't you," she shoves Killian toward Truly, "take care of Truly, she can be your temporary little sister." Heather leans over and whispers in Tru's ear. "He's a goof, but he's safe."
"That's unicorn abandonment!" Killian fakes shocked horror as he leans away from Heather. "What kind of mother abandons her cub..." A look of befuddlement crosses his face. "Colt? What the feck is a baby unicorn called!?"
Heather squeezes his arm. "They are sparkles or shimmers, and I have faith in you to keep my baby unicorn safe, brigand." She pats his bicep before turning to hunt down Lynsee, who wandered off on her.
As she does, Killian's eyes turn to Truly. "Sooo..." He takes a sip of his drink. "Sparkle. Do you want a pint of the good shite?" He tips his cup back and forth at her in a silent offering.
"Me daddy has Guinness shipped in from te motherland. It's te only stout I'm allowed to have at home." She holds her cup up. "Now I know why."
"Sparkle..." Killian's jovial expression falls as he puts a hand to his heart, and he shoves his cup into her chest. Thankfully, he doesn't spill any on her. "Shut the feck up and taste it before you knock my shite."
Truly tentatively takes a sip and is delighted to find out it's the exact stuff she drinks with her dad and brothers. "T'is is brill!"
Accepting her proper reaction, Killian nods his head and takes her cup of crap beer from her. He flings its contents to the side, nailing an unsuspecting kid.
"Hey!"
Ignoring the lad, Killy gestures to her. "Follow me, Sparkle, I shall take you to the land of flowers and golden brews." He turns and strides like it's normal to push your way through a crowd of bodies as he leads her upstairs.
Truly grabs the back pocket of his jeans, so she doesn't lose him in the crowd and follows him through the first floor and upstairs to the living area of the fraternity. Up here, there are still a lot of people, but far less who aren't sporting Psi Omega's crimson and black.
"Kill," a boy with dirty blond hair down to his cheeks calls out, eyeing them with cool, calculating brown eyes. "Who you got there?"
"My Sparkle!"
"Right...." His brother shakes his head. "Have fun, let me know when you're done with the room."
Flicking his fingers at him in a wave of acknowledgment over his shoulder, Killian leads Truly down past twenty or so bedrooms. Many have their doors open, giving her a glimpse into their lives, and behind a few of the closed doors, she can hear moans and grunts. As they turn the corner into the furthest hall of the 'U' shaped house, a pledge stumbles backward, cursing as he stares down at something.
"Oi!" Killian hollers as his expression turns irritated and serious. "Don't pick on flower or I'll make ye jump in the pool naked! Damn Pledge." He shakes his head as the kid quickly scrambles away, revealing a rottweiler standing at attention in front of what leads to the last four-bedroom doors. Walking straight up to it, Killian pats the rottweiler's head. "Good Petals. You keep those nasty pledges and pilfering lassies from our rooms."
Truly's eyes grow in excitement as she carefully crouches a few feet in front of the dog. "She's beautiful, is she yours?"
Killian shakes his head. "No. She's Kade's." His eyes flick to where she is. "She won't come to ye. When she stands like this, she's working." His eyes drop to the dog as he fluffs her ears. "You're a working girl, aren't ye? Yes, you are. And such a good one."
Kade's? The gorgeous face flashes across her mind, but she quickly shakes it away. "Will she let me pet her?"
"Sure, with Kade here or when she's in one of our rooms. Otherwise you gotta be one of the fantastic nine." He touches his chest, revealing he's one of them.
She nods in understanding. "Me Navi at home won't let anyone touch him, either. Not without me t'ere." Her attention falls back to the dog. "Yer a lovely lass, aren't ye?"
"She knows." Walking back to her, Killian takes Truly's hand and starts leading her to his room, keeping himself closer to the dog as they pass. When they reach the last door on the left, he opens it, revealing a messy boy's double room with its very own keg chiller sitting at the end of a messy unmade bed. "Go forth, my Sparkle!" He gestures to the stack of cups on the table that sits beneath an Irish flag.
Truly chuckles and fills herself up a cup before taking a hearty drink. "Me stars, I love t'is stuff. How te hell do ye get t'is?" Her gaze shifts up to his as he leans against the doorframe to his room.
Killian grins and takes another sip. "I'm Irish!" He lifts his free hand and twinkles his fingers down. "It magically slides into me room off rainbows, carried on the backs of leprechauns."
"Ah." Truly nods and lifts her plastic cup to the window. "To te leprechauns." She takes a swig. "Now how did ye really get it?"
As he moves past her to refill his cup, Killian's lip lightly curls. "My dear sweet cousin Connor is a brewmaster at Guinness. He knows of the terrible injustice I suffer and rescued me from the swill these Atlantean call a decent brew."
Truly tips her cup back and finishes it before filling it up again. "Can I come back and get more later?"
"Sure." Taking a marker, Killy adds a sixth star to his cup, a count to his brother's what cup he's on. "I can bring you back up, Sparkle." He reaches out and pats her shoulder with his free hand. "I can't let ye wander around. You're Uni's precious baby unicorn and Petals might gobble ye. That would definitely get me bit or kicked." Killian tips his head, and the look in his eyes tells Truly he's not opposed to the idea.
Truly heads out the door and waits for him. "Are ye and Heather a t'ing?" She can't help but notice there is some sort of chemistry between them, even if it's an odd one.
Killian nods as he closes the door behind him. "She's me girl. Unless I'm working with Epsilon Zeta, or Pi Zeta, or..." As he closes his door, he turns and looks at Truly. "Enlighten me, Sparkle. Why are there so many sororities? It is fucking August and I have, like, seventy!" He throws an arm out. "Requests already to do parties and events with us. Your mommy Uni is precious to me," he pats her head, "but she really needs to learn to share. I'm going to get mauled at this rate if she keeps tryin' to monopolize me."
A smile crosses Truly's face as she drinks her beer. When they pass Petals, she whispers a quick, "Good lassie."
Throwing his arm over her shoulder, Killy tucks her casually against his side. "We're off Sparkles to find my boy!" As they pass the boy who called out to him before, Killy points. "That's Hayden. Room's free, by the way. We got our beer." He grins at his blonde bunkmate, who's got a girl at his side.
"Ye mean yer pledge?" Truly looks up at him and takes a sip of her drink.
"My dear Sparkle," Killy tsks as they head down the stairs. "We are more likely to find a chest of gold on this isle than some gangly eighteen-year-old with brown hair."
Truly's lip curls up in amusement. "Ye have no idea what he looks like, do ye?"
"Not a feckin' clue." Killy admits before he takes a sip of his beer and leads her through a portion of the main floor and into what must be the dining room, given all the tables shoved to the side.
"So." Truly looks around the room for someone she knows, but the sight of all the brightly colored shirts is too overwhelming. "Who are we looking for t'en?"
"My mates Sasha, Gideon, Griffin, and his little baby Skylar." He snickers. "He's now his and Brandyn's baby brother. I would have paid to see him shite himself if they'd given him to his actual brother. Though...." His eyes drift to the side as he scans the room. "He'd likely die. That's probably why risk management said no." He nods to himself as his eyes land on a horde of girls around the tables near the back windows. "Ah!" He points with his cup towards it. "See. There they are."
Truly's smile falls a fraction, realizing they're headed back to the hottie that caught her attention when they first arrived. Daddy is gonna kill me if he finds out I hung out with boys all night. T'ere's a higher girl to boy ratio, t'at nulls it, right? Truly nods to herself. Yeah, t'at nulls it.
As they get closer, she can't help but steal glances toward Kade. All the guys in the group are extremely good-looking, but there's just something about that one that keeps drawing Tru's attention. Her gaze drops to his hips as she watches him dance and grinds against a slender blonde. His hand rests on her hips. The lucky girl from a different sorority has won his attention.
As they stride towards them, the girls naturally part for Killy, silently telling Truly these are the rest of the fantastic nine he mentioned.
"Hello my fantastic... well six."
The most cross-looking of the group turns his disapproving hazel eyes on them. "Did you just fucking roll out of your bunk?" His gaze snaps to a pale blonde near him as he smirks and puts his hand out. Reluctantly he drops his own off the girl he's dancing with's waist so he can pull out his wallet. He hands the blonde a twenty.
"They betted on his arrival," a boy with long shaggy brown hair grins from where he sits with a girl straddling his lap. "Brandyn lost."
"Stow it, Griff," Brandyn snaps as his eyes shift to Truly. "Who's the wench?"
Killy hugs Truly into his side. "She's a lass, not a wench, and her name is Sparkles. She's Uni's baby unicorn. I've adopted her. She is now our little black hearted Sparkle."
"Truly, actually." She tries to correct.
"Great...." Brandyn's unamusement laces his voice as he turns his eyes towards the rest of their group. "Now we have yet another pledge to babysit." His gaze flicks back to Killy. "Don't worry. I shoved your first one into the drink for you. If you're lucky, a siren nabbed him."
Truly's stomach turns, hoping that won't be her fate by the end of the night. She's wearing a white t-shirt, and those have a tendency to turn clear when wet. She doubts her little lace bra will help guard her boobs against the hundreds of eyes that would see her.
Raising a brow, Killy sets down his drink beside Griffin and protectively pulls her back into him as he covers her ears. "Don't threaten me baby unicorn. We torment the little black hearts, not baby unicorns. They're cute and great fecks."
Truly's gaze flicks up to Killy, hearing every word he says, despite his efforts at blocking her ear. Her eyes narrow on him, having no intention of sleeping with him if that's what he's after.
"So you're going to crack her cup later." Brandyn nods, turning his attention back to his selected date.
"One doesn't feck one's adopted baby unicorn. What is wrong with ye?" Killian shakes his head.
The pale blonde with a girl beneath his arm lightly laughs and shakes his head. "You're afraid Heather will take your balls for touching her little sister."
The comment makes Kade's lip curl up in amusement as he looks over the girl's head he's dancing with and focuses his full attention on her, making Truly's stomach flip.
"What? No." Killy drapes his arm across Truly's collarbone, resting his hand on her shoulder. "She gave me Sparkles. She's now officially ours." His eyes light up. "We should introduce her. We haven't done the welcoming song, have we?"
A quiet dark-haired boy and the one Brandyn called Griff shake their heads no.
"Well, then..." Killy gestures to Kade.
Rolling his eyes, Kade lets go of the girl he's with and jumps up on the table Griffin's sitting at.
"Avast!" A deep, rumbly voice pours from Kade's lips, sending chills down her as he stomps his foot on the table. He leans forward and sniffs the air. "Do you smell that, brothers? There's a hint of sweet primroses in the salty air."
"Aye!" Every Psi boy roars out.
Luckily for Truly, Killy's already stepped over to join his brothers, or she'd be deaf. She barely notices, though. Her eyes are solely on Kade as he turns and points to the women of the room.
"Do you see that, brothers?"
Calls of agreement fill the air.
Pivoting on his feet, Kade turns, his eyes locking down on her, the only primrose girl within their group. "There's some fine Theta Sig joining us tonight!" He runs a predatory look over her.
Truly freezes in place, as she feels her cheeks pinken. Oh, me stars.
"We may be violent." He throws a right hook out as he sneers. "A little bit crude." To her shock, Kade briefly grabs his crotch as he winks at her. "But we buccaneers are here for you." As his attention shifts up to his fellow brothers in the room, Kade raises his arms. "Let's welcome their newest lassies like proper Psi do!"
A pair of hands snap around her waist, lifting Truly up to stand beside Kade before she registers what's happening.
Oh, t'under! A rush of panic shoots through her.
"Here's to..." Kade flicks his fingers in the air, silently demanding names.
Nearby, Avery cups her mouth and yells. "Avery! Her name's Truly!"
"Here's to Avery's little sister, Truly," her name rolls off his lips like dark silk.
The way he says it makes her breath catch, and the world feels a little bit tipsy.
"Who's with us tonight. Let's make her merry. Let's make her horny." His lip curls up into a playful smirk as his eyes flick back to where he heard Avery call out. "Don't worry Avery, we'll..."
Suddenly, every boy's voice joins in. "WE'LL MAKE SURE TO CRACK HER CUP BY MORNIN'!"
Truly's eyes go wide in horror as her neck and cheeks turn a deep shade of red.
"So..." Reaching out, Kade catches her hand with her cup and lifts it towards her mouth. A slight gasp leaves her lips as every place his hand touches start tingling, and she wonders what it would feel like to have his arms wrapped around her if he pulled her in for a passionate kiss.
An amused look crosses Kade's face, showing her he knows very well what kind of effect he has on her. "Drink, baby sister, drink." He winks as the rest of his brothers yell.
"Drink baby sister, DRINK!"
Truly wishes she could crawl into a hole and die. She tips her cup back and guzzles the rest of her beer, needing the help of the liquid courage before stepping off the table into Killy's already extended arms.
As she hops down, another of her fellow Tau pledge is hoisted up across from Kade.
Truly glares at Killy. "Ye should have given me something a lot stronger t'an Guinness if ye were going ta put me t'rough t'at."
Brandyn's hard gaze drops to her. "You want something hard, I can give it to you." He smirks, his innuendo clear.
"Pay him no mind, I have vodka." The quiet dark-haired one offers, making the word sound harsh and heavily accented. "Frrrom RRRussia." He lifts his cup and angles it so she can see the clear liquid inside. "I have it in my rrroom if you vant."
"I'm good for now, t'anks." The two beers are already working their magic on her. To her shame, she's a bit of a lightweight compared to the men of her family and needs to pace herself. She's burning up from the heat of the room, the beer, and the heated looks she keeps getting from around the room. While Killy's distracted and Avery is still drooling over Kade, Truly takes the opportunity to head outside and cool off.
