"Okay, what do you think?"

Y/N entered the kitchen with arms outstretched, after a somewhat graceful spin she looked over at her dog Milo with a cocked brow.

Milo simply lifted his ears, giving her a less than impressed once over before resuming his original position.

"Wow, that good huh?"

Why was she so nervous? It wasn't her first date, this was something she should be used to by now but then again nobody like Kim Taehyung had ever asked her out before.

Why her when he could have anyone he wanted?

"I can do this Milo, I can put aside my insecurities about myself for one night and just enjoy it. I can totally do this, right?"

Milo simply stretched out his front two paws and yawned, it seemed she couldn't even hold his attention so what hope did she have with Taehyung.

She just needed to breathe, relax and enjoy the evening but would her anxiety allow her that luxury?

The last thing she wanted was to ruin their first date especially as Taehyung had worked so hard to make it perfect for them, she would never forgive herself.

There was gentle knock at the door, her heart raced as she quickly moved over to the mirror.

Was the outfit too casual? Did it show just how uncomfortable she was in her own skin? It was a little too late for her to change now but that still didn't stop her from worrying, what if Taehyung didn't  like it?

Stop thinking so much and just go with the flow.

Y/N took a deep breath as she approached the door.

You can do this.

It's only Taehyung, everything will be fine.

She repeated those words over and over in her head a few times before finally opening the door.

Taehyung was facing the opposite direction as she greeted him, it had taken her a few minutes to gather the courage to face him and he was starting to think this wasn't the right house.

The moment the door opened he turned around and they both just
.......stared.

"Hey Tink." Taehyung finally breathed out, shoulder coming to rest against the wall as a playful smirk pulled at his full lips.

"Tink? As in Tinkerbell? That's a new one, not sure how I feel about that." Y/N teased, fingers discovering a loose thread in her jumper which she started to wrap around her index finger nervously.

"I have many nicknames for you, Tink is just the latest because of that adorable jumper you wore the other day."

"You're never going to let that go are you?" Y/N chuckled, rolling her eyes when he laughed.

"No and just so you know....." Taehyung paused, taking slow  steps towards her.

"What?" Y/N cocked a brow quizzically, cursing at the slight tremble in her voice.

"You look so fucking beautiful." He finally reached her, long slender fingers gently unravelling the loose thread.

"I'm here tonight because you've captured me like no woman has before, there's something about you which has me rather like this thread." Taehyung's lips were brushing against her forehead as they both looked down at their entwined fingers.

"What do you mean?" Y/N swallowed hard, just standing this close to him was sending her body and emotions spiralling out of control.

What the hell was happening?

"Just like this thread you have me unravelling, how and why are still a mystery to me but one I would very much like to discover."

"Do you talk to all your dates like this?" Y/N smirked, eyes not daring to meet his for fear of what they might see.

"Only you." Was his reply.

Taehyung wanted desperately to kiss her, she looked so beautiful that he could barely breathe but tonight was about taking things slow and getting to know each other.

One step at a time Taehyung.

He repeated this over and over, composing himself before reluctantly pulling away.

"You ready for our date?" He asked with a breathtaking smile.

"I'm certainly intrigued." Y/N chuckled, locking the door behind them.

"I hope you don't mind but we'll be walking to the first place, what's the point in driving and missing out on what the world has to offer us." Taehyung winked, offering his hand which Y/N took without hesitation.

"I plan on telling you about my brother tonight but not until later, there's no point ruining the mood with something traumatic. I just wanted you to know that I hadn't forgotten my promise, just that you'll have to wait a little longer for it."

Y/N wasn't expecting anything from him, she would never force someone to discuss something they felt uncomfortable with.

"Taehyung you can tell me when you're ready, please don't force yourself especially if it upsets you. I understand what it's like, people constantly trying to understand what you're going through. I know they mean well but sometimes it can be so....."

"Frustrating." Taehyung finished for her.

"Exactly." Y/N chuckled, sucking in a sharp breath when Taehyung ran his thumb over her knuckles.

"I appreciate your understanding, my promise still stands though and we will discuss my brother later."

"I've never met anyone like you before Taehyung, you see the world in such a unique way."

"I don't want to see it the way everyone else does, so many of them don't appreciate what they have. Take that woman for example." Taehyung pointed across the street and Y/N allowed her eyes to follow.

"She's stuck on her phone, not paying attention to the world around her but if she stopped for just one second and put her phone away she would see the man sitting next to her who obviously hasn't been able to take his eyes off her since she joined him on that bench. What if he's the love of her life? I guess she'll never know as he's walking away now and she's still too engrossed in the world of social media."

Y/N chuckled, watching with great interest as Taehyung pulled her closer.

"Yeah or he could be a serial killer." She teased and Taehyung scoffed.

"I want to see the world, explore it.  I lost my brother as you know and it made me appreciate the life we've been given, we only get one shot at it Y/N. I don't want to live mine following the crowd, I want to live mine standing out from it. I want to do all the things most people only talk about doing but never get around to actually doing it, I want adventures and excitement."

Taehyung had never spoken so honestly with someone before, it scared him because the fear of losing her like he did his brother was constantly threatening to resurface but tonight he wouldn't allow that to happen.

It was their night.

He wanted it to be perfect, she deserved nothing less.

"I love your view of the world Taehyung, it makes me want the same.....if only I was brave enough to pursue it."

"I know you can Y/N, it'll take time but I'll be here. I promise you, together we can start a new adventure." Taehyung stopped outside a large warehouse, the exterior wasn't anything special and for a moment she hesitated.

"Is this where you confess that you're actually a serial killer?" Y/N chuckled as Taehyung rolled his eyes.

"Very funny but no, we're in the right place."

Taehyung's eyes were wide with excitement as they stepped through the large metal doors.

"Evening, do you have tickets for the exhibition? It's about to start, there's one spot left and I'm guessing you're my last couple?"

Y/N couldn't help but feel intimidated by the beautiful woman who approached them, she was the epitome of grace and elegance.

Taehyung immediately sensed her change in mood, the grip on his hand tightened and it didn't take much to see she felt threatened.

"Y/N?" Taehyung whispered as he let go of her hand.

"It's just you and me, okay?" He smiled as their eyes met, fingers caressing her arm as he moved closer.

"So beautiful." He whispered, fingers dancing along her spine.

"We have tickets, you'll have to excuse me. It's our first date and I can't seem to keep away from her, can you blame me?" Taehyung smiled over Y/N's shoulder at the woman, she gave a nod.

"I don't blame you, she's very beautiful."

"See, it's not just me who you've bewitched." Taehyung playfully tickled her sides and just like that all her doubts and fears vanished.

How did he do that?

"I've got the tickets here, sorry to keep you waiting." Taehyung retrieved 'said' tickets from his jacket pocket, handing them over to the beautiful woman who glanced over them before nodding.

"Perfect, follow me and we can get started."

Y/N cocked a brow in confusion as Taehyung took her hand.

"What exactly have you gotten us involved with Taehyung?"

"You'll see when we get there." He said with a wink as they followed the woman down a long corridor.

Y/N had absolutely no idea what to expect, she was nervous....there was no doubt about that but she knew Taehyung would never make her do something she wasn't comfortable with.

Taehyung was equally as nervous but for entirely different reasons, would she like it? When discovering just how wild his imagination was and how he most certainly did beat to the rhythm of his own drum would she want a second date?

The woman guiding them came to a stop at the end of the corridor, before them two large doors similar to ones they first entered opened and Y/N gasped.

"Taehyung what is this?"

"It's an exhibition by one of my favourite artists, everything will be explained so don't worry and I'll be here with you the entire time." He gently squeezed her hand as they entered the room.

Y/N had never seen something so beautiful before, it didn't surprise her that Taehyung had taken her somewhere like this for their first date. It was so different and totally refreshing, this time her heart was racing for all the right reasons.

"Ladies and gentlemen, evening and welcome to the Luo-Yong exhibition. My name is Li Na and I've been working alongside Luo-Yong to make this exhibition something truly spectacular, once the umbrellas have been lowered we kindly ask that each couple picks their favourite and once we're all settled we'll begin." The woman who greeted them at the door spoke eloquently, once finished she nodded at a younger man across the room who began to lower the many umbrellas for the awaiting couples.

"Take your pick beautiful, which one has your attention?" Taehyung whispered in her ear causing a pleasurable shiver to run through her body.

"The purple one in the middle, it's my favourite."

Taehyung gave a nod, carefully guiding her through the couples before coming to stop by the purple umbrella.

"Now that everyone has picked their umbrella please welcome Luo-Yong."

The room erupted in applause as  Luo-Yong entered, he was extremely attractive and Y/N found herself staring a little too intensely which didn't go unnoticed by Taehyung.

"Don't make me jealous Y/N." He teased but she didn't miss the anger in his eyes....it seemed Taehyung was just as possessive of her as she was of him.

Luo-Yong was a very attractive man but the moment her eyes fell across Taehyung he was all she could and ever wanted to think about.

He was absolutely breathtaking.

In that moment it was just the two of them.

They totally missed Luo-Yong's introduction to his work, never watched as he sat behind the easel.

It was only as the sprinkler system was switched on that they broke eye contact and looked up.

"Well, this is one first date I'll never forget." Y/N smiled, eyes widening as Taehyung moved out from underneath the umbrella.

"Taehyung what are you doing?! You're getting soaked and we're supposed to stand underneath!"

"Do you trust me?" He asked, offering his hand.

Did she?

Was it wise?

Would this end in heartbreak?

Y/N pushed aside her doubts and concerns, tonight it was about taking risks and so she stepped out from underneath the umbrella and took his hand.

"You better not break my heart Kim Taehyung." She whispered, looking up at him through wet lashes.

"I was about to say the same thing to you Y/F/N."

Their lips met and all their worries faded away.

Luo-Yong smiled, watching the young couple as they embraced. This was what he wanted, exactly what he was looking for.

He painted what he felt, the young woman was wearing jeans and a jumper but instead he imagined her wearing a dress and even though several other couples had joined the exhibition it was only them he could truly see.
