Chapter Three - Kidnappers and Killers

Hi! Yup! That's the title of this chapter! Also, if you're confused by my fourth reading list, it's basically just smutty things that I regret reading. I'll probably continue reading them because I might already be hooked on the storyline, or something along those lines. I usually read past smutty scenes to see if there's any value to the story, and that's how I ended up there. Believe me, there have been times when I've just stopped reading because it's entirely smut with no actual storyline. I want to know who else I should turn. Here are some options:

Hermione Granger
Blaise Zabini
Luna Lovegood
Ginny Weasley
Pansy Parkinson
Neville Longbottom
Theodore Nott
Ernie MacMillan

If you want anyone else to be a vampire please tell me. Enjoy!

----------------------

Harry had improved at controlling his temper and not giving in to his urges to kill or drink blood. Of course there were a lot of close calls. Ginny scraped her knee one day and Harry was too close to killing her for comfort. He apologised like his undead life depended on it and Ginny tried her best to tell him it wasn't his fault, but that was futile. Molly and Arthur were aware of Harry's ... condition ... and they tried not to freak out when ever he entered the room. But that was a little difficult considering he almost devowered their daughter.

Harry also became quite handsome after his turning and Ginny had once even said that he was sexy. Of course it was more of a best friend context but Hermione kept smirking whenever Harry and Ginny were talking. It annoyed Ginny a lot since she wasn't even single - probably shouldn't have told you that, oopsie! Harry wasn't allowed outside for a while, but Hermione did her research and found that when certain gemstones were dipped a certain potion they provided protection.

There were three that seemed useful:

Solis Stone:

A red ruby - symbolic of  good fortune and health - is dipped into the potion to strengthen power and form a protection from sunlight.

Ira Stone:o

An amethyst - symbolic of clarity and relaxation - is dipped into the potion to strengthen clarity of mind and control over urges.

Sanctus Stone:

A zircon - symbolic of purity and holy spirits - is dipped into the potion to strengthen the good and humility left in a vampire so that holy water and crosses don't hurt them.

They weren't sure about the first and last ones, but they would definitely try to make the Ira Stone so that if it worked they might trust him enough to make they other two. So, they went hunting for the red ruby and potion ingredients needed for such a complex mission. It took a few weeks but after a long while they managed to round up all the ingredients and started to make the difficult potion. They dipped the gemstone into the potion and let it dry for half an hour before it was finished.

"All that's left now is to figure out how he'll wear it," Ron stated.

"I don't think Harry's one for jewellery," Ginny commented, "Maybe he should keep it in his pocket?"

"Maybe who should keep what in their pocket?" Harry walked in.

"We made the Ira Stone," Hermione said matter-of-factly, "don't know how you'll wear it."

"Could just put it on a thread and make a necklace."

"I told you!" Ron exclaimed.

"How was I supposed to know he'd be fine with it!?" Ginny answered.

Hermione rolled her eyes at the babbling siblings and took a piece of thread out, hanging the ruby from it.

"Here you go," she said.

Harry took the necklace and thanked his friends now feeling a little more comfortable around them. Soon enough, there was a knock on the door and Ginny went to answer it. When she came back, she was no longer alone and brought a smiling Luna Lovegood with her. Luna had obviously cut her hair over the holidays because it now hung to only just brushing her shoulders. But, it also looked fluffier than usual so it was quite beautiful.

Ron went over and kissed her cheek since they were dating. It had been quite interesting to see them get together. It happened right after Voldemort died and Luna had been worried sick that Ron had died since she hadn't seen him. That was when she realised her liking for the ginger boy. But when she saw him she jumped into his arms and planted a kiss right on his lips. That was when Ron realised his feelings.

"You're too sweet for your own good," Ginny said looking at the smiling couple.

"At least I have a girlfriend!" Ron shot back, "Last time I checked you rejected everyone for someone special that never returned your feelings."

Ginny made an offended face, "I can get a girlfriend if I want one."

"Oh~ So she was a girl," Harry teased.

"Harry!!"

"Do we know her?" Luna asked sweetly, "I'm sure if we did we could help."

"Um, that depends. Some of you might, but I doubt it."

"What's her house?" Hermione asked, "Is she in Gryffindor?"

"No..."

"You sound unsure," Ron said.

"... don't yell please. She's in Slytherin."

"WHAT!?!?" Harry, Ron and Hermione yelled in unison.

"That narrows the list," Luna pointed out, "Is it ... Parkinson?"

"Oh dear Merlin it better not be," Hermione said.

"No, it's not Puginson," Ginny answered. (No hate! I love Pansy and I'm just saying that because they hate her at this point.)

"Is it ... Bulstrode?" Harry asked.

"Ew! No!" (I hated writing that! I love all the Slytherins!)

"What about Davis?" Hermione suggested.

"Hell no!"

"What about Greengrass?" Ron asked, "Well, there are two. Greengrass Senoir?"

"No."

"Well, what about junior then?"

"No..."

Ginny tried her hardest not to sound worried at the last person they suggested. Yes, Ginny was head over heels for Astoria Greengrass, the muggle-loving, Hufflpuff-ish, Slytherin pureblood. It wasn't a pair most would think of, but the two had become friends over the past year seeing as the Death-Eaters didn't really like Astoria either. So, they met during a detention one day and became quick friends. Of course they both developed feelings and met after the death of Voldemort and started dating in secret.

Hermione was about to suggest someone when Molly and Arthur came in and they all forgot about Ginny's crush - or technically girlfriend. Luna stayed for tea and biscuits and she seemed rather confused by how Arthur kept giving Harry scared glances. So, she asked very plainly and received the honest truth. She was a little shocked at first, but she excepted that it wasn't Harry's fault.

But of course, turning Harry wouldn't be the end of Cedric's scheming...

Far from it...

The Leaky Cauldron was shut down due too Tom's death.

Whoopsie daisy!

I'm shocked it took them this long to realise it.

But I guess I'll just have to find a new hide out!

I met this nice young man with a big house.

Might kill him and his family.

Or maybe I'll just turn them.

I don't know yet!

But that's the fun in finding out I guess!

I didn't think being a Sire would be so fun.

Astoria doesn't seem to want to drink blood...

Her humility will ruin my plan!

How am I supposed to achieve my goal with a rogue soldier!?

How am I supposed to build my army!?

Oops!

I shouldn't've told you that.

You won't tell anyone will you?

Oh, you are going to tell someone...

...

Haha ...

Hahaha ..!

Guess it's time to kill a muggle!

Astoria sat on the end of her bed, watching the others pack their bags while she had already finished. She didn't want to leave. She didn't want to go home. Pansy didn't want to live on the streets. Daphne didn't want to go home. Blaise didn't want to go home. Draco didn't want to go home. No one wanted to leave, but they had to. They had no where else to go, and Pansy didn't even have anywhere to go.

Pansy couldn't go home. Going home would result in her heart being broken once more after being kicked out again. She turned to Blaise for that reason. She didn't want to live on the streets, so she'd have to get a job somewhere. Draco offered for her to stay at his house, and Blaise the same, but she denied both offers. How could she? She knew their home situations weren't much better.

Blaise didn't want to go back to his mother and - most likely dead - stepfather. The woman had no respect nor dignity and would shamelessly flirt with a married man just to get money that she didn't need. His current - maybe dead - stepfather was an absolute douche that didn't seem to like anything about Blaise. His mother of course didn't know of how Blaise was being treated by the man. Almost Cinderella esk aye?

Daphne and Astoria had the trouble of being blamed for their mothers death and the verbal abuse that came with that. Astoria had inherited the blood curse that took their mothers life, but as a vampire it lost it's affect on her. Daphne didn't inherit the pestilence, but she had a fair amount of allergies and, like peanuts, and once had them thrown at her. Neither of them had it very good at home.

Draco had it very bad, but it wasn't necessarily the worst, since they all had the abuse at around the same level of horror. But he definitely had it pretty bad with his father being abusive in a more physical sense and his mother being more emotionally abusive. He ran away too, and managed to survive a few weeks but he'd have Hell to face if he went home. All of them would, as none of them got permission to leave. Except for maybe Pansy.

Overall, none of them wanted to go home to the horrors that they had left. They all had very different situations, each one just as bad as the others, but they refused to give up and let their demons kill them. And so, Draco did go home. He walked up to the Manor doors and cringed as he opened them, never thinking he'd choose to come back. The foyer was empty, but Draco knew his parents were home.

But he wasn't aware of what his friends were facing. Pansy sat on the street with nothing but the clothes on her back and a small bag of food and water. Blaise was hiding in his bathroom with the door locked, shaking as his mother attempted to beat the door down - and almost succeeding. Daphne and Astoria were walking home, when Astoria suddenly disappeared without making a single sound.

Daphne started running around aimlessly in search of her sister, but it was to no avail. Astoria was long gone and wouldn't be found for a very long time.

Astoria had been walking with her sister until a hand went over her mouth and she was dragged into the nearby forest silently. She was scared but she also tried to fight back, knowing her disappearance would be noticed immediately. She managed to escape the grip of her kidnapper and ran as far away as she could, shocked by the speed she was running at. The scenery blurred as she ran, but that didn't stop her.

She didn't know where she was headed, but she could hear rushed footsteps behind her and guessed that it was one of Cedric's victim's. She could no longer hear the footsteps, but she didn't stop running. She eventually found herself in the familiar surroundings of Malfoy Manor and jumped up to Draco's bedroom window. But when she tapped on it there was no answer. So she opened it and clambered inside. Once inside she heard screams and pleas that she recognised to be Draco. She ran to the stairs and watched what was happening with fear and anger.

Lucius had his cane and was beating Draco so cruelly with it, and so quickly, that he was probably going to kill him. Narcissa watched and yelled about how Draco was a disappointment. This got Astoria. Her caring heart caused her to lose control, as her eyes turned red and her blood boiled. She jumped down, punched Lucius and then stabbed her hand into his chest, ripping his heart out. She dropped the organ before moving onto Narcissa and snapping her neck.

She turned to Draco and found that he was on the ground passed out, and fading into darkness. So she did what she had to do. She bit into her arm and forced the blood down Draco's throat, knowing it would heal him, but not turn him. He didn't drink at first, but eventually he started to drain blood out of Astoria's arm, waking up to see his parents lying dead on the floor. His breathing hitched at the sight and tears stung the back of his eyes, threatening to escape.

"I'm sorry..." Astoria whispered with a lump in her throat, "... I lost control. I couldn't stop myself from doing it..."

Tears slipped from her eyes and Draco looked at her sympathetically.

"Hey," he cooed, "it wasn't your fault. You couldn't help it."

"I'm a monster!" Astoria screamed, now sobbing.

"No Ast, you're not a monster. They are, and I'd be dead if it weren't for you."

Astoria's shoulders shook as ugly sobs escaped her lips and Draco brought her into his embrace. He whispered in his friends ear and told her that it would be okay, it wasn't her fault, and that she was anything but a monster. She shook her head at all of this, feeling guilty for killing someone, and feeling horrible as she looked at Lucius' heart, in a puddle of blood on the floor. She couldn't fight it anymore, she had never had a will to live from the beginning, but to become exactly what people thought she was made it a whole lot worse.

Draco eventually stood and helped the crying girl to her feet, hoping he could make her feel better. But then it hit him. Why was Astoria even at his house? He was about to ask, when the answer hit him on the back of the head and he fell to the ground once again. Astoria squeaked with a look of utter terror on her face. Draco tried to get up, but he was blacking out again.

No...

I have to help Astoria...

I have to get up...

But ... I'm so tired...

... No...

...

-~-

Luna had just left when there was another knock on the door, and this time Hermione answered.

"Hullo," a young woman said, "I'm looking for a Harry Potter? I heard he was here?"

"Um..." Hermione wasn't sure, "Why?"

"My boss wishes to speak with him."

"Do you work for the Ministry?"

The woman paused, "Yes."

"Oh, come in then."

Hermione stepped aside and let the woman in, noticing how young she looked. The woman couldn't be any younger than twenty, but no older than twenty-five. She had very sharp features and very silky milk-chocolate-brown hair in a neat bun. She certainly dressed like a Ministry official, but she didn't really act like one. The woman seemed too bouncy to be a professional of any sort other than maybe a professional pain in the ass.

She skipped into the living room and saw the boy she was looking for.

"Hullo," she said, "you must be the famous Harry Potter I've heard so much about?"

"Yes..?" Harry said questioningly.

"Well, my boss would like to talk to you."

"Whose your boss?"

"I work for the Ministry, and it's confidential, so that's all I can say in front of these people."

Harry already didn't like her. She was too bubbly and still very stern, almost reminding him of Umbridge. (I need to know if this is weird. I kind of love Umbridge in a weird way.)

"If I do go with you," Harry started, "when will I get back?"

"You should be able to get back by midday tomorrow," the woman claimed.

Harry tried to hide his worry for coming back that late, seeing as he couldn't exactly go out in the sun. "Alright..? But I want to talk to my friends first?"

"Go ahead!"

Harry shuffled out of the room with Ron, Ginny and Hermione looking a little sceptacle. He told them to meet him outside the phonebooth leading to the Ministry and they nodded their heads. But, he wouldn't meet them there...

He wouldn't see them for a long while...

--------------------

So, that was that chapter. Knowing the Harry Potter fandom, I've probably got a million comments yelling at me for liking Umbridge. But allow me to explain myself:

Umbridge was actually a very important character for developement of the others, and to give them a goal and something we could relate to. Admit it, we've all got that teacher that no one likes. She gave us scenes that are iconic and brought out emotions so cleraly that it's difficult for me to get past the literary genius behind her character.

She was also excepting and nice to the Slytherins while everyone else just thought of them as evil gits. Giving the snake house something to enjoy and be proud of. It's for those reasons that I just can't hate her properly.

She's still a total bitch and I wouldn't think twice before stabbing her, but I can't help but like her character.

I'm just geeking out over here sorry. But those are my reasons for not hating her. I bet you'll never look at her the same hehe. Please vote and comment. Thank you!

P.S. I would like suggestions for the story.
