Chapter Six - Spies

Hi! Sorry this took so long but, it's finally getting done. I don't know who to turn, but I plan on turning quite a few people so if you woud please make some suggestions that would be very appreciated. Thank you!

------------------------

Luna Lovegood had just come back from a Hogsmeade date with Ron and was heading back to the Ravenclaw common room when something happened. Walking up some stairs, she felt the uneasy feeling of a pair of eyes on her, but she ignored the feeling. The eerie sensation followed her however, as though someone was stalking her and she couldn't figure out who. Once she turned a corner a hand was placed over her mouth and she couldn't breathe.

She fought against whoever had their hold on her, but she was dragged into another classroom and all she saw were the desks in front of her.

Eventually a sharp pain shot through her neck and she tried to scream out, but the hand over her mouth made it impossible to hear. A few seconds later and and arm was beingheld to her mouth and blood was forced down her throat, the sweet crimson liquid burning her tastebuds. Oh Merlin, she thought, It's a vampire.

She continued to scream into the arm until everything stopped. with the blink of an eye she was in the living room of a building she didn't recognise. When she looked at the clock she realised that her blink had lasted five hours. Beginning to panic she looked around until her gaze landed on someone that wasn't as dead as she thought. Cedric.

"Hello there Luna," he greeted, "I don't believe we ever met."

"No, I don't think we did," she replied, "Where am I?"

"Welcome to my not-so humble abode. I do think you'll like it here."

When Luna didn't answer; Cedric nodded to a man and he left. When he returned he was carrying a screaming little girl in his arms. The little girl screamed, wriggled and even tried hitting the man in an attempt to escape his grasp.

"Dad please!" She exclaimed, "This man is evil!"

Luna felt her heart break a little. This girl was being held hostage by her fathers employer? Luna didn't know the relationship between the two, but this girl would've gone through a lot.

"Shut up Esme!" The man shouted at his daughter.

Esme was thrown in front of Luna and they sliced her palm open. Luna tensed, she hadn't expected the blood to be so inviting or tempting. She looked at the girl, asking for permission without words. The girl smiled a little before nodding. Luna then took her hand and as gently as possible, bit into the palm and drank. The girl winced a little and Luna stopped almost immediately, but still fought the urge to rip the girl to shreds.

"I can see you want more blood," Cedric cooed, "Take what you want."

Luna closed her eyes, she did want the blood, but she didn't want to hurt an innocent child. Her eyes flashed between blue and red, mainly staying purple and her teeth sharpened, making it all the more difficult to resist the urge.

Cedric chuckled, "Take her away, this ones a keeper."

Esme was dragged away by her father and Cedric nodded in the direction of a hallway, encouraging Luna to follow him. She obliged. They walked up a flight of stairs before passing a few closed doors, all of them bedrooms. They eventually came to a door and Cedric pushed it open, signalling for Luna to go inside. She once again, obliged.

When she stepped over the threshold the sight was something she had not expected. The room was decorated in white and a pale turquoise colour. It was a bedroom housing a seating area, a wall of books with a desk, a four poster bed with a canopy and two doors leading to a bathroom and a closet. Luna's eyes widened at the sight, but before she could do anything the door was slammed shut behind her and locked.

In the dungeons, Esme was thrown into the cellar and the door was once again locked, Astoria still looking rather sickly in the corner. Since Esme was already bleeding and Draco had lost enough blood in the past few days, she crawled over and held her palm up for the girl. Astoria stubbornly declined, but Esme just rolled her eyes before pressing her hand to the vampires mouth. She drank, but didn't want to drink too much and hurt the child so stopped after three sips.

"Astoria," Jake started, "you need blood."

"And you guys do as well," she claimed, "If you lost too much you'd die."

Draco stirred, "Who was the new vamp?"

"A blonde girl," Esme explained, "I think I heard someone say Luna."

Draco and Astoria sat up properly, "Luna?" Astoria asked, "As in, Luna Lovegood?"

"I think. She was nicer than others though."

"I'd expect that," Draco smiled, "Although clearly she's not too resistant if she wasn't thrown down here."

"Some of these people have shocked me," Astoria said.

"If I might ask," Jake started, "How do you know her?"

"A fair few of the people here go - or went, to our school."

"If you have magic: then why don't you just magic us out of here?"

"I'm too weak to apparate," Draco explained, "it's illegal to perform magic in the presence of muggles and Astoria's too young. Not to mention neither of us have our wands."

"So it's hopeless?" Esme asked.

"Sadly."

The four prisoners sat in the dungeon, awaiting another vampire to come and say people were hungry.

There was a knock on Luna's door after two hours of her sitting on her bed reading a book and it opened to reveal a cautious Theodore Nott. He looked down the hall beofre closing the door quietly and nodding his head in the direction of the bathroom. Curious, Luna followed him and saw Theodore turn the tap on, then turn to face her.

"You're going to waste water if you do that," the Ravenclaw said calmly. (CaLMlY!!!)

"I know, but I didn't want people to hear us," he replied.

Luna raised an eyebrow, "Why?"

"I'm the one that turned you. And before you get mad and rip my head off, I need your help."

"You need my help with what?"

"Cedric has multiple vampires like us at Hogwarts that turn people they think are worthy. I turned you, because I knew you wouldn't help him."

"Wait, you aren't working with Cedric?"

"I mean, kind of am, kind of am not. Similar to Snape with the Death-Eaters I guess. But I've been trying to figure out why he's turning us."

"Because he's crazy? Look at the way he's acting."

"Yes, I know. But he said something about an army. I overheard him."

"Okay, he wants an army?"

"Why though? Why does he want an army of immortal witches, wizards, muggles and squibs alike?"

"World domination?"

"No. People only build armies when they're scared. Voldemort for example. He was scared of Dumbledore and Potter."

"What on Earth could scare an immortal psychopath?"

"Exactly! You wouldn't think anything could would you! But clearly, something can. So I wouldn't be too concerned about why Cedric's doing this or what he's planning, but who or what he's fighting against."

"You're going back to Hogwarts soon right?"

"Yes."

"Send a message to Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Pansy, Blaise and Daphne. Tell them Harry and I are fine, and that I don't know where Astoria and Draco went."

"Oh, I know where they are."

"You do?"

"They're in the dungeons. Astoria refused to feed and Draco's still alive."

"Okay, tell them that as well. But tell them to not do anything stupid, like try and find us."

"Yes ma'am."

Theodore turned the tap off before sneaking out of Luna's room, making sure no one was there to see him. He tip toed back into his pale green and bronze coloured room, shutting the door quietly behind himself. He took a piece of paper, a quill and an ink pot out of his draws. He looked at the list.

Harry Potter
Luna Lovegood
Astoria Greengrass
Neville Longbottom
Dennis Creevey
Justine Finch-Fletchley
Mandy Brocklehurst
Hannah Abbott

He then put a tick next to Luna's name.
