“So how are you and Lizzie doing?” Kaleb asked, shoving another handful of popcorn in his mouth. 
“Fine, I guess.” MG shrugged. It wasn’t that he and Lizzie weren’t doing good. He just … had other thoughts. “What about you and Jed?”
“We’re great.” Kaleb beamed proudly, thoughts wandering happily to his boyfriend. “He’s out with the pack looking for Landon.”
“Have they found anything yet?” MG leaned back in his seat, trying to look casual. “I just can’t think of where he would’ve gone or why he would’ve run.” MG looked down and ran a fingertip over the arm of his chair. “I miss him.” His eyes snapped up. “But like a normal amount.”
Kaleb looked at him blankly, fighting the smile at the edges of his mouth. He reached into his bowl, scooped up another handful of popcorn, and launched it at MG.
“Hey -!” 
“Why are you still dating Lizzie Saltzman?” Kaleb asked around a laugh.
“Because I - I still love her. And I want to be with her. And she’s been going through it lately.” MG sighed. “It would be pretty shitty for me to dump her now. And you’re probably going to tell me that there’s no right time to break up with someone, and that’s fair, but this is a very wrong time.” MG paused. “Besides, it’s probably just a crush. It’ll go away. I don’t want to make any permanent decisions until I’m sure.”
Kaleb just gave MG a look.
MG sighed. “What if … What if I do get with a guy, and then I don’t like it? What if it’s not … or I’m not …”
“You never know until you try.”
