Chapter 2

“Dad loves Hope more than us,” Lizzie sighed, sinking onto her bed, head hitting the pillows heavily. She dropped her sore limbs next.
Josie rolled her eyes when her sister couldn’t see. “You’re being dramatic.”
“Am I?” Lizzie sat up sharply to look at her. “Because he just cut our training session short to train with Hope.”
Josie watched her reflection in the mirror as she put her earrings back in. "That doesn't mean anything."
"Do not try and gaslight me like that, Josette," Lizzie said, waving a finger through the air. She shook her shoulders out and stood with another loud sigh. "But it doesn't matter. I'm not going to focus on Hope Mikaelson today. I'm putting all of my energy into Honor Council elections."
Josie froze, an earring post pressed against her skin. She kept her voice carefully calm. "You're still doing that?"
"Of course." Lizzie looked at her sister strangely. "I've been working on my platform for months. Why wouldn't I?"
Josie turned slowly. "Well … I was thinking about running."
"That's amazing, Jo!" A huge smile broke out on Lizzie's face and she surged forward towards Josie excitedly. "Should we both vote for each other? In sister solitary?"
"Yeah!" Josie mirrored Lizzie's wide grin and excitement.
"This is going to be so fun!" Lizzie pulled Josie into a hug.
Josie’s smile slipped down into a grimace as Lizzie wrapped her arms tightly around her.
