“You’re on the party crew?” Hope arched her eyebrows incredulously at Rafael. He dragged the table across the floor.

“Yeah. I want to make tonight perfect.” He looked to Hope to gauge her reaction. “... for Lizzie.”

“What are you?” Hope laughed sarcastically. “Her boyfriend?”

Rafael shrugged. “Maybe I want to be. Is that ridiculous?”

Hope considered it. Dating Lizzie would be fine … if you erased her entire personality and changed everything about her - well, except for how she looked. That was fine already. “I mean … she’s hot. If you can get past the overinflated ego and the rich-daddy, immature-mean-girl thing she’s got going.”

“I think I can.” Rafael nodded, smiling as he thought of Lizzie. “I really think I can.”

Hope laughed and grabbed the other end of the table. “You really want to be her boyfriend ...”
