Después de derrotar a los Onis y de vivir varias aventuras locas los ninjas finalmente pueden tomar un descanso, pero todo cambia cuando algunos de los onis sobrevivieron al tornado de la creación y roban el nuevo cristal del reino que había creado Borg para poder remplazar el original. Y cuando los ninjas tratan de atraparlos los onis abren un portal a una dimensión desconocida y por desgracia Kai cae en aquella dimensión, la cual esta poblad por dragones, los cuales tienen la capacidad de hablar y también son atacados por los onis ya que ellos buscan conquistar la dimensión y crear un nuevo hogar para ellos. Ahora Kai deberá de completar su misión en aquella dimensión si quiere detener a los onis, pero en su estadía conocerá a nuevos amigos quienes lo ayudaran en su misión. mientras eso pasa, los ninjas tratan de encontrar a los onis que vagan por Ninjago para poder salvar a Kai y detener sus fuerzas restantes de una vez por todas.

After defeating the Onis and going through several crazy adventures, the ninjas can finally take a break, but everything changes when some of the Onis survived the tornado of creation and steal the new crystal from the kingdom that Borg had created in order to replace the original. And when the ninjas try to catch them, the onis open a portal to an unknown dimension and unfortunately Kai falls into that dimension, which is populated by dragons, which have the ability to speak and are also attacked by the onis as they search conquer the dimension and create a new home for them. Now Kai must complete his mission in that dimension if he wants to stop the onis, but in his stay he will meet new friends who will help him in his mission.
