Después de la trágica muerte de Jay y Nya por detener a un misterioso villano que había llegado a Ninjago parecía que nuevamente la ciudad estaría en paz. Pero no para un ninja, Kai había llorado profundamente la muerte de su hermana y de Jay, y después de dejar el equipo por un tiempo se dedicó plenamente en criar a sus tres sobrinos. Ellos ahora son su única familia, y no dejara que ningún otro villano les haga daño. No les oculto nada sobre que sus padres eran ninjas pero les prohibió ir a entrenar con el resto del equipo ya que no quiere que sufran el mismo destino que tuvieron sus padres por ser héroes. Pero la vida normal que estaban teniendo parece terminar cuando nuevamente el villano que asesino a Nya y a Jay surge y trata de obtener venganza contra los demás ninjas. ¿Podrán los niños detenerlo como lo hicieron sus padres anteriormente? ¿Y Kai podrá proteger a sus sobrinos?

After Jay and Nya's tragic death for stopping a mysterious villain who had come to Ninjago, it seemed that the city would be at peace again. But not for a ninja, Kai had deeply mourned the death of his sister and Jay's, and after leaving the team for a while he devoted himself entirely to raising his three nephews. They are now his only family and he will not allow any other villain to harm them. He did not hide anything from them that his parents were ninjas but forbade them to go to train with the rest of the team since he does not want them to suffer the same fate that their parents had for being heroes. But the normal life they were having seems to end when again the villain who murdered Nya and Jay emerges and tries to get revenge on the other ninjas. Will the children be able to stop him like his parents did before? And can Kai protect his nephews from him?
