Chapter 41
Olivia stopped hurrying to the door as soon as she got close enough to Rafael and Tony, standing at the entrance with both their hands folded as they glared at whoever it was standing outside. Olivia was also anxious to know who it was and even more so with every step she took as she drew closer. She watched Tony turn to her as soon as she was a few paces away.
"O-Olivia,"
Olivia slowly turned to look at him just as Rafael turned his head slightly to see too. Olivia watched Tony step away from the door so she could have a better look. Who on earth could it have been that had everyone up on their feet.
She narrowed her gaze to the man in a black tuxedo outside.
"Olivia!"
Austin rushed into the house the moment he saw her. They turned too. Olivia stared at him, wondering why he was overly excited to see her and what he was doing there. How he just barged into the house like that unannounced? She had her eyes focused on Rafael to make sure he was okay with it. He didn't look like he wasn't. He just folded his arms and raised a finger to scratch his brow.
"A-Austin-"
He pulled her to his chest and hugged her immediately. Rafael let out a disgusted scoff.
Unbelievable.
Olivia could see him roll his eyes from where he stood. He was plainly disgusted.
He turned fully and walked away from the door with his hand in his pocket. He didn't want to be a part of all that drama. Susan went away with him and she watched them walk down the hallway.
"Oh my God," Austin pulled her away from him gently. "You're okay." He examined her carefully, side by side to make sure she was really okay. Tony could not understand what was going on.
"W-What are you doing here?" Olivia asked him almost in a whisper. "How did you find me?"
"It doesn't matter." Austin said rubbing her arms, forcing a smile on his face. He had relief tears lingering in his eyes. "What matters now is you're okay and you weren't hurt. I don't know what I'd do if anything had happened to you."
"A-Austin-"
"This won't do." He grabbed her hand "You shouldn't be here. You can't be here. it's not safe. Come with me, I'll protect you. I know somewhere, you'd be safe there."
He tried to pull her. Olivia pulled back. She stood her ground, refusing to move. He slowly turned to her.
"What's wrong?" He noticed the long frown on her face. He exhaled "Are you mad at me? For leaving you there on your own?"
"It's not that." She cut him off, trying not to look at him "It's just-" she started "I can't leave yet."
"What?"
"I still have to stay here and look after my Lawyer." Now she turned to look at him "You see, he hurt himself while trying to protect me. I won't feel at ease with myself knowing I just left him."
Austin slowly turned to make sure Tony wasn't listening too much to their conversation. Too late, he was.
"Is everything okay?" Tony had to ask, his worried gaze on Olivia.
"Everything is fine." Austin glared at him from the corner of his eyes.
"I was talking to Olivia." Tony said, standing straight not bothering to look at Austin. Olivia exhaled and forced a smile on her face
"Austin and I would just step out for a minute to talk." She said grabbing Austin's hand as firmly as she could, taking him by surprise. She hurried to the door with him. "I'd be right back."
She smiled at Tony
"A-are you sure?" He asked her, standing in their way, raising his eyes to Austin's. It was obvious he didn't trust him. "I don't trust him."
Austin let out a disgusted sigh and Olivia leaned closer to him.
"But you trust me don't you?"
Tony looked at her. He did trust her. He exhaled
"Don't go too far." He told her "And scream if he tries something funny."
Olivia chuckled
"Yes sir."
Tony stepped away from the door and watched them as Olivia pulled Austin away from the house. He wasn't just comfortable with it. No matter how he looked at it, he didn't trust any of the Silvers. He watched how Olivia was pulling him all the way to the front gate.
Maybe she was okay.
Maybe she didn't need his protection after all.
He exhaled and turned to the door. He closed it.

Olivia tip toed down the hallway, trying to be as quiet as she could be so as not to wake the whole house up. Why on earth was she back so late in the first place? She really hoped she was quiet enough. The last thing she needed was anyone noticing how late she had returned home. Anyone especially-
The lights in the kitchen went on the moment she tried to walk past it. Olivia froze for a second. She didn't see that coming.
Please be Nanny Benita!
She prayed in her head not daring to turn. She stood right there, on her tiptoe with her shopping bags in her hands, as still as a statue. She bit on hard on her lip hoping whoever it was would just say something, anything to relieve her of her anxiety.
"Ten PM is pretty late for someone who's squatting in someone else's house don't you think?"
Olivia shut her eyes the moment she heard Rafael's voice.
Just who she didn't want to see.
She exhaled and stood straight. There was no point hiding anymore anyway. She took a deep breath and quickly turned to the kitchen.
"Hey." She forced a smile on her face. "You're awake." She announced, looking around to make sure he was the only one.
Rafael shook his head. He had a huge frown on his face, one of the worse she had ever seen.
"Is this it?" He asked her. "Is this how you always walked around and got back home anytime you liked while you were married to your husband?"
"N-no." Olivia frowned, walking further into the kitchen. "I-I totally lost track of time, I'm not always like this." Not like she owed him an explanation.
Rafael dropped his bottle of water on the table.
"Mnnn." He wasn't buying it
"I'm really sorry Austin just showed up the way he did earlier. Trust me, I wasn't the one that told him where you lived neither did I invite him. I was just as surprised as everyone else."
"Mnnn."
"But I was able to talk to him and I promise, he won't show up here like that ever again."
She wished he was listening. He had his eyes glued to the bags in her hands.
"Uhh," she pulled them behind her. She was getting really uncomfortable "Austin thought I needed a change of clothes." She raised her other hand so he could see the new phone in her hand "And a new phone."
She smiled
"So now you can just call me instead of running to find me like you did before and getting hurt."
Rafael raised his head to hers. His lips curving.
"Really pathetic."
"Huh?"
"He couldn't even get you a recent version at the least." He said looking at the phone in her hand. He raised his head to hers again. "Does this really excite you?" He asked her.
"What is wrong with an eight?" She whispered to herself. Rafael exhaled, he heard her obviously.
Olivia cringed back as she watched him walk towards her, still glaring at her.
"W-What's wrong?" She asked as she dropped her shopping bags just so she could have a better chance at making a run for it if she needed too. After what happened the other day, this man in front of her terrified her, a lot.
And it was like he knew she was scared of him, or was he just enjoying it. Olivia's back was against the wall now, there was no way for her to run anymore. He was close to her... too close, close enough that she could feel his breath on her and they felt so so good.
Their chests were almost in contact with each other.
He stopped pushing as she turned her face away before he pushed any further. Her hands were shaking. She could feel her phone slide from her first two fingers. Her heart was beating so fast. What was he doing? What was he going to do to her and why?
Rafael liked how uncomfortable he made her feel.
"You're scared." He whispered to her, his voice soothing and his lips reaching for her ear. Olivia could feel her heart skip so many beats. She was gulping ten times harder than she usually did. Her heart was racing, she couldn't even speak. "Good. You should be." He continued
Olivia drew in a deep breath. He could hear her breathing from where he stood. She had to be really terrified.
Rafael scoffed and slowly pulled himself from her. He stood straight and then raised his water to his mouth, he drank from it. Olivia stood where she was. She couldn't even bring herself to look at him and for some reason, he felt really disappointed. Did he really make her so uncomfortable? Did he really terrify her?
She let out a loud exhale just as he looked away from her. He turned towards the door.
"Turn off the lights on your way out."
He told her and walked away from the kitchen. Olivia let out a loud exhale. She could feel all her strength leave her the moment he left that room. What was wrong with her? Why was she trembling so much?
She almost missed a step right before she held on quickly to the refrigerator to stop herself.
Breathe Olivia, breathe.
She just wished she could. She really wished she could.
