Chapter 12: Sleep (Caden's POV)

She nodded slowly, clearly relishing the power I'm giving to her.

It's way beyond me now. It's gone over my head.

Why the hell am I handing it to her? I really want her body that badly? I'm really that desperate for her?

Her body, I mean. The problem isn't that I can't resist her. I know I can. But I just... I don't want to. Even though I'm meant to. For once, I don't want to do what I'm told to when it comes to Venus Jade Princeton. I want to do what I want to do. And at the moment, that is anything but resist.

And the best, biggest loophole in this situation. No one will know. She looked at me, extremely confused but also curious.

"And how do you plan to find out?" she asked.

"I know you're going to say no," I began. "I know you know better than to risk getting involved with me for the sake of your family and whatever drama is between our families. But also know you don't really hate me, Venus."

She blinked, folding her arms across her chest and listening intently.

"So, while I know you won't agree, I plan to make you," I smirked, stepping forward.

She had the power. She enjoyed it. She relished it.

Because I let her, because I gave to her. It's high time I take it back.

She clearly sensed it. She knew what I was doing now.

"Make me?" she asked.

"I will, don't doubt it," I said, stepping even closer.

She took a shaky step back and her legs hit the couch. She sat down on it and caught herself.

Oh, we're doing this again.

I smirked, leaning down, resting my hands on my knees. "And since I now know for a fact that you don't hate me and you won't pull away when I..." I leaned in, my lips barely brushing against hers. But I didn't kiss her. Even though she didn't pull away. I chuckled, looking at her. "I know you want it. Whether you admit it or not," I smiled. "So, don't worry. I'll make it happen for both our sakes."

"I don't want to sleep with you, Caden," she said slowly, glaring up at me.

"Stand up."

She shook her head.

I sighed, "Again? We're doing this once more? You know I'll make you."

"You didn't last time," she shrugged.

"Because you listened last time," I retorted. "And I don't like talking to you like this. Looking down at you. Get up."

She stared at me blankly, refusing to listen.

I sighed, bending at my knees and scooping her up bridal style. She squealed and I seated her by the sink on the countertop. "Now at least we're eye to eye," I smirked. She pulled her knees together, trying to keep me at a mediocre distance. But I held her knees, pushing them apart and standing between her dress. "Now, what was I saying?"

We both froze when we heard the voices of a few women heading to the bathroom. I pulled her off the counter and pulled her into a stall, locking it shut. I kept her back to the door and stood in front of her so her dress was hiding my feet. She opened her mouth to say something but I shot her a glare and she quieted down. I put my palms on the door behind her and we both held our breath as the women walked in.

"I was just thinking that. Her necklace is from that jeweler, isn't it?" one of the women laughed.

Venus and I looked at each other, both of us frowning in confusion.

Is that...

"Of course, it is. Undoubtedly," the other woman chuckled.

Her eyes widened.

"Is that your mother?" I whispered.

She nodded.

"With... my mother?" I asked.

And she nodded again.

I took a step back, closing the toilet lid and climbing onto it. She grabbed my shirt, trying to pull me down but I swatted her hands away. I climbed up, peering over the door. I ducked when I was in sight, realizing that the two women outside were indeed her mother and my mother.

"Are you stupid? You almost-"

I clamped my hand over her mouth, leaning in. "Shh," I whispered.

She mumbled against my hand and I pressed my hips into hers, both of us rattling the door a little. I shot her a pointed look and she let out a loud huff.

After a while, they both left. I let go of Venus and then pulled her out of the stall. "Where were we?" I sighed.

"I was leaving. Because this is too goddamn risky. And about your offer. About how you so nicely begged me to sleep with you," she grinned. I opened my mouth to talk but she beat me to it. "I'll sleep on it," she chuckled at her own little pun.

"You will?" I blinked in surprise. I was expecting her to say no.

"I'll sleep on it," she shrugged. "I'll think about it," she paused, stepping closer to me. "How much I'll make you beg," she smirked.

I took a step forward but she stepped around me and we switched places.

"In the meantime, you can think about how exactly you'll convince me." She headed for the door but I grabbed her wrist, pulling her back.

"You..." I trailed off, now realizing that she's just as bad as I am.

She doesn't have any experience, she's never been with anybody, but she's enjoying the thrill. She's enjoying it all. She likes toying with me and taunting me because she's never done it with anyone before. She likes playing around.

A small smile formed on my lips as she placed her hands on my chest, pushing me onto the couch. I fell back, sitting on it and loosening my tie as she stood in front of me.

"Think hard about it."

"Why? Because you'll enjoy making this hell for me?" I cocked a brow at her.

"Very much so. Now you can enjoy the ladies' room," she grinned, walking to the door and opening it, pausing to glance at me. "You really are an idiot, Caden. More than I thought," she smiled before leaving.

I sat there on the couch for a minute, thinking about her. Then I realized that I was in the girl's bathroom. Then I scurried out of there, making sure it looked like I came out of the boy's bathroom instead.

I came into the hall one more time and scanned the room, spotting her standing with her mother, talking to Mr. Hudson's wife. I walked back over to Roman, slapping his back as I got there.

He turned to me. "What's up?" he asked.

"What's up?" I asked, grinning helplessly.

"Oh, dear. Now what have you done?" he sighed, turning to me.

"She'll sleep on it," I nodded.

"Huh?"

"She'll sleep on it," I repeated, rubbing my hands together.

"What are you talking about? Who is she? What is she sleeping on?" he questioned.

"She'll sleep on it," I mumbled, watching her walk across the room to Clarissa.

Roman's gaze followed mine and when he saw her, he swiveled back around to me. "Caden, what the hell did you do to her?"

"Nothing, what could I possibly do to her?" I frowned in confusion.

"What did you say to her? What is she sleeping on? What decision is she going to make and probably regret because of you?" he asked.

I grinned at him. "That, my dear friend, is none of your business."

"Caden, come on," he groaned.

"Relax, it's not a big deal and she isn't a child. Her decision is conscious and so is mine."

"Decision about what?" he groaned.

"That is also none of your business. And it's a secret," I shrugged, straightening my tie.

"You're keeping secrets with Venus Princeton now?" he mumbled, making sure nobody around us heard him.

"I've been keeping secrets with Venus Jade Princeton for years," I smirked.

"Whatever," he rolled his eyes. "It's your mess, handle it wisely now."

The party ended around an hour later. We left and while we were waiting for our driver to pull up, the Princetons also came outside except they were waiting for the valet. Who got there first.

Venus held the door open as Clarissa climbed into the back. She laughed, saying something to her before turning to climb into the car.

"Axel," I said, leaning my elbow on his head while watching her.

Her eyes met mine as she climbed into the car and unrolled the window.

"Yes?" Axel asked.

"Do you see anyone here who looks like a fairy?" I asked without looking down at him.

He looked around in confusion. "No?" he said in confusion as her car drove past us.

She rolled up her window once they passed us and then I lost sight of her.

"Are you blind?" I looked down at him.

"Why? Because I didn't see the pretty fairy?" he huffed.

"Exactly. She's so pretty, anyone could see her," I said, almost bragging about it.

Why? I don't know. She's not mine, there's nothing to brag about that.

"Then so could mom and dad, idiot," he snorted. I gave him a glare and then shrugged it off.

She has to say yes, she has to agree. I have to convince her. I'll do what it takes. Because I want her.
