Thanks a bunch! I'm really sorry my updates aren't very frequent I just always seem to be busy with sports or work but Thank you to everyone who is still here reading i love you guys all so much. Some new characters this chapter so be ready! (I think I'm going to move my Author's note to the end of the chapter I've seen some other people do that and I like it better. ~CM

Chapter 8

The cloud around us starts to dissipate and I feel a gentle warmth surround me, I realize I must be in the ocean. I look around and notice a castle in the distance along with a city. The King swims over to me.

" This will be your place of residence until we figure out the tail situation." He says gesturing to the house behind us.

The house reminds me of the summer cabin my family is at. A small house but it's wrapped in seaweed- or at least i think it's seaweed I don't really study underwater plants. There are two small windows in the front with the curtains drawn, a soft yellow light glowing through the windows.

"The family consists of two adults Calandra and Danteen, they also have three children, Lana the eldest who is your age, and then twins Eli and Ella, whom are the same age as your brother Tyde."

At the mention of Tyde's name my heart aches to be with my family again. I try to push the thought to the back of my mind and focus on the new temporary family as we go inside.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Alka," The King says addressing the adults in the room.

"Hello your Highness, we are honored by your presence in our home," the man says bowing his head. The woman-who I assume to be his wife also bows her head. 

"Please excuse me a moment sir, i will go get the children," Mrs. Alka says as she leaves the room. after a moment she returns with the three children. The oldest one, Lana I believe, has golden blonde hair that goes down to her hips. Her hair also has many small braids in it. She has a deep blue tail that matches her eyes which seem kind. The twins, Eli and Ella, have fiery red orange tails, which by the state of their platinum blonde hair i would guess matches their personalities.

"Hi, I'm  Lana, 14, and oh, I really like your necklace where did you get it?" she says.

"Oh, I uh, found it on the beach at the cabin my family is staying at," I respond suddenly remembering the charm I found. 

"Coolsies, well I really like your tail and  like it or not i am going to dig through your clothes and come up with outfits for you. It gets so boring not being able to change you tail color." She tells me.

"Uh i don't have any clothes with me so maybe another time , also I feel like you would just love pants and skirts." 

"Oh my gosh are those human things?! You are going to have to tell me all about it later!" I can hear the excitement in her voice. 

"I'm Ella and that's Eli, were twins! Isn't that cool?!" Ella says.

"Also please don't say were cute if I hear that one more time today I might explode!" Eli adds.

"I would never," I say dramatically, "but you two are just so adorable!" I say to annoy Eli.

They both groan. I smile and wink at them.

"Mommy can we go outside and play now?" Ella asks.

"I suppose," she replies with a sigh.

"I also suppose it is time for me to leave, I have much work to attend to at the castle, Iris is already enrolled at the high school, all fees have been taken care of, you also will receive a monthly check to reimburse the funds you use for her care. Good Day." The King says. 

As he leaves the family bows their heads.

"Ok, well you come with me- you will be staying in my room." Lana says. 

I follow Her to her room which has walls that are painted a cream color which only bits of the paint are showing  through the photos that cover nearly everything.

"Photographer?" I ask her.

"Yeah. This is your bed," she says gesturing to the mattress shaped thing with some cushions on it.   

"Thanks," I reply, "Now I know absolutely zero about anything so would you mind helping me out so I don't make a complete fool of myself tomorrow?"

"Oh, of course!"

A/N

Woah 2 author's notes in one chapter?! Yeah.. Anywho I normally type my stuff on an ipad but i typed this on a computer which conveniently does not have auto correct. Feel free to go through and point out any errors! 

Also while i was writing this i was listening to this one playlist I have on Spotify and now I'm like all pumped up and ready to go overthrow some society or something. I feel like a mix of Tris Prior and Katniss Everdeen.
