Chapter 6

"Uh, I mean I guess you could, but I don't even know your name," I reply.

"My name is Vanessa, any other questions before we begin?" She asks me.

"Yea, how exactly does this spell work?" Vanessa sighed.

"Basically we speed up the transformation process, the worst thing that could happen, well no it only happened once so you don't have to worry." She said.

"Well, okay I guess."

"Great," Vanessa said. She waved her hand and a small deep looking pond appeared in front of me. "Please step into the pond and we will begin," All the council members stood up and joined hands. I took a deep breath and sat down on the end then pushed myself in. I immediately began sinking. I heard murmuring above the surface but it got quieter the farther I sank. There all of a sudden was a flash of white in front of my eyes.

"Come on Iris, you can do it, were right here if you need us." I push myself aways from the sand and start swimming.

FLASH

And the winner is Iris! I stand on the winners podium dripping wet in my swimsuit.

FLASH

"Don't drop me Iris!" I hold Tyde up helping him to swim.

FLASH

I  feel the same sense of drowning from earlier. I see the waves rolling over me and my parents standing watch.

FLASH

The light starts fading away and I open my eyes. I'm sitting on the edge of the small pond. I look around, Vanessa and the King are the only people here with me. I look down and I have a TAIL!

The tale is a soft purple color that has a sort of shimmer to it. I try and move it, it's a little more heavy than my legs normally feel but not unmanageable. I turn my head to ask Vanessa a question and my hair falls over my shoulder, it seems so much longer and smoother.

"I'm glad the spell went well, but we're in a bit of a rush, so would you mind transforming," the King says.

"Yea, but how?" I ask.

"Just imagine yourself with legs, and will your tail to go away," Vanessa interjects.

I close my eyes and imagine myself without a tail, go away. I tell the tail in my head. I open my eyes and it's still there.

"Why won't it go away, I did what you said." I say in defeat. The King and Vanessa look at each other with worry.

"Well, I did not anticipate this happening," Vanessa says.
