Chapter 6
Chapter 6 – I am
His eyes are giving Hazel chills all around. He moves in closer and she closes her eyes in fear.
"I'm not going to kiss you," he says. Hazel's eyes pierce open and she clears her throat.
"I didn't think you were," she replies boldly. "What do you think this is? Some . . . shoujo anime?"
"Someone has been living on earth for far too long. But you're still the same. Sarcastic." He smiles.
"Who the heck are you and why do you act like you know me?" Hazel asks.
"Because I do know you, Hazel, and you know me too. Take my hand," he offers.
She looks down at his hand and her eyes dart back at his target like eyes.
"I'm not touching you," she crosses her arms.
"Grab my hand or I grab your entire body."
"Wow," her hands fall to her side. "Guess I am dealing with some nightmare perverted demon." She shakes her head and places her hand in his.
Her face muscle tugs on her eyebrow as if she's waiting for him to speak again.
"Hold on," he warns.
The view around Hazel becomes hazy and darkness consumes color. When she blinks, everything is over. Her view is back to normal and she notices that she is standing on a balcony.
"Where are we, and what happened?" Hazel asks.
"Look in the window. That's the little girl of the mother you killed," he reveals.
Hazel looks into the window and her lips begin to quiver. The little girl is dancing with her father. They seem to be at their happiest, and all that happiness is about to subside.
"What do you feel?" He asks.
"What the hell am I supposed to feel?" She turns away and begin to rub her shoulder nervously. "I'm a monster. I have to feed on those stupid things just so I can live!" When her glare meets Rohan, his cunning expression changes to surprise.
"Hazel," he comes closer to her.
"No!" She steps back. "I killed her mother, I feel regret. It's horrible. If they knew creatures like me existed, I would be dead. I did what I had to do, you have no right to look down on me! What the hell do you want from me!"
"Great, that's the Hazel that I know," he smiles. "Rage, fire, all of this eats you up."
This guy is a monster, he reminds Hazel of her father. He's ruthless and cares for nothing.
"How did we get here?" Hazel asks as she tries to change the subject.
The shadow guy grabs her and again, Hazel's view becomes blurry and dark. Her eyes get forced close by the amount of wind. The wind stops and her eyes open again.
They are inside of a small home. Everything is bunched together. The kitchen, the bathroom, and one bedroom. Everything is near each other.
Hazel steps as far away from the guy as she can.
"Look! You can't just grab me and throw me in darkness whenever you want to. What the hell is going on?"
"We jumped from shadow to shadow. I can use darkness as a type of transportation. It's hard to explain or even get into. Long story short, I am the hidden son of Hades," he explains.
"Hades, you mean the god of the underworld? You're the son of the god of the underworld?!" Hazel asks.
"That's me. No one really knows I exist. We used to know each other back in the realm of Aku. Your mother rid you of your memories. I'll make sure they come back," he explains.
"First off, what is your name, and second, my memories did return," Hazel says.
"Not all of them. Your mother put a huge blockage on the memories she really didn't want to come back. My name is Rohan."
"Rohan," Hazel whispers to herself. "Do you have my mother?"
"I do not. I took her, and now she's with someone far too powerful to mess with," Rohan explains.
"So you're the one to blame!" She tries to come at Rohan, but her uses the shadows to take him behind her. She gasps and looks behind her. "That isn't funny. I need my mother back Rohan."
Their eyes meet. "I had no choice. My life was on the line."
"We need to get her back," Hazel says with fire burning in her eyes.
"I can't help you there," Rohan sighs.
"That's complete bullshit!" Hazel rages. "You took her. I don't care what kind of trouble you're in, but I'm getting my mother back."
"Hazel, it's dangerous," Rohan looks down.
"She's my mother. I'm leaving. If you come after me again or haunt my dreams," she moves closer to him and keeps her eyes glued to his, "I'll kill you."
Hazel rolls her eyes and walks right out of the mini home.

Rohan
Rohan doesn't even bother to stop her. He can't explain himself in the right way that he wants to. All he wishes is for Hazel to regain all of her memory, every little detail of it.
The reason he took her mother is because someone powerful wanted her locked away. If Rohan refused to listen to the orders, then he would be doomed to death. Doomed to spend years and years with his father, whom he detests.
A girl with Emerald green eyes walks in the room as if she were a model. Her posture is straight and her walk is fancy, yet flirty. She wraps her arms around Rohan and a smirk appears across her face.
"Don't mind her, who cares if she remembers or not?" The girl says.
"Shut it Emerald. I need her to remember," Rohan sighs.
"But why?" Emerald asks as she forms a pout on her face.
"Because . . . she just does, okay?" Rohan sighs.
He removes Emerald's hand from his waist and he sits on the couch. Emerald is nothing but a tool to Rohan. She is amazing at fighting and she gets jobs done. Once everything is in place, Rohan will get rid of her.
Rohan begins to think of how far Aries's apartment is from this house. He doesn't want Hazel to walk on her own such a long distance. He rushes outside and searches the streets. He spots Hazel walking not too far from his home.
Rohan catches up in no time and she gets startled by his presence. She crosses her arms and raises an eyebrow. "I said not to follow me." Hazel gets irritated.
"Let me at least take you back," Rohan offers.
She stares down the road and sighs. Their eyes meet again and she nods. "Alright, take me home. Only because I don't want to walk anymore." Rohan grabs her cold hands and they disappear together into the darkness.
Out of the darkness and into the world again. They appear in front of Aries's apartment. "He must be searching for you," Rohan says.
"Maybe, goodbye," Hazel waves.
Rohan gives her a glare one last time. He watches as she enters the building and in a split second she's gone and out of sight.

Hazel
Hazel walks upstairs and opens the room door. Aries must have left it open while he was in a rush.
I hope he isn't too furious or worried, Hazel thinks.
She walks towards the bathroom. All she wants now is to just take a shower and rest. Hazel smells like a wet dog. She enters the bathroom and locks the door behind her.
She looks at herself in the mirror and sees a broken girl. Something feels uneasy with her mind and heart. It's the feeling of regret and sadness. She just killed an innocent lady for her own selfish reasons.
She breaks down and falls to her knees. "I'm just like my father," Hazel whispers to herself. Tears race down her cheek and she looks at the tiled floor. She wipes the tears and takes a deep breath.
She removes the clothes from her body and throws it to the ground. Her trembling hand turns the pipe on and switches it to warm. Hazel gets into the shower and begins to wash her face, her arms, legs, and everywhere else.
"Hazel is that you in the bathroom?!" Aries shouts.
Hazel turns the water off and shouts, "It's me!"
"You had me worried sick you little prick!" Aries shouts.
"Shut the heck up, I'll be out in a sec!" Hazel screams.
She turns the water back on and continues to feel pain smack against her skin. She feels sorrow tickle her cheek and aches run through her heart.
