23 - Ah! Love
<Serenity HQ>
Hoshi opened the door of the passenger's seat after parking his car. Woozi walked out, "You don't have to do this."
Hoshi just shrugged as he held Woozi's hand, "Let's just go."
"Noo!" Woozi halted as he quickly retracted his hand away, "Not like this."
"Why?" Hoshi raised a brow.
"Are you stupid? You want to walk into the office, holding my hand?" Woozi exclaimed, "It's unprofessional and everyone will think there's something between us which is clearly not the case."
"Why would anyone give a damn about us?" Hoshi sighed, "We're just holding hands?"
"You're the boss, Soonyoung. And over that, in-charge of the department, I work in." Woozi implemented, "Try to understand it."
"I understand that." Hoshi stated, "But it's not like I'm romancing with you or something, it's not a big deal."
"It is!" Woozi protested, "Plus you said I've to remain in front of your eyes for you to keep me away from the threats, right? Where did this holding hand thing come from?"
"Alright, let's go then." Hoshi began to walk as Woozi closely followed. Soon enough, they reached the Web Designning Team's department. Gladly, both of their cabins were on the either ends of the same floor.
"Go in." Hoshi stated.
Woozi nodded as he walked into his cabin, greeting Jeonghan and Wonwoo.
Hours passed by with the intense amount of workload. Soon enough, Woozi stretched on his seat as he stood up, "I'm going to get some coffee, I'll be back in a while."
Jeonghan and Wonwoo hummed as the other left the cabin. He reached the coffee booth and got his preferred one.
While walking back, he overheard a few employees talking to themselves.
"Oh right, he's quite handsome."
"Who? Mr. Kwon?"
"Yeah, him. I just went to talk to him for some work and he was so gentle with his tone."
"Oh you're right, his smile is so pretty."
"I accidently spilled water on his suit yesterday, but he was so calm and sweet."
"And you know, Mr. Chwe too~"
Woozi furrowed his brows. It was the first time he had heard someone talking about Hoshi like that and he didn't know he would hate it so much. His possessive instincts were flaring up as if they were together.
When in fact, they were not.
He tried to shrug it off as he quickly reached his cabin. He sunk down on his seat, the frown never leaving his face.
"What happened, Woozi?" Jeonghan tapped his shoulders.
"Nothing, hyung." Woozi managed to smile. After a moment, he looked at a file kept on their combined desk, "Wonwoo, this file needs to be given to Mr. Kwon, right? I was going that way, should I hand him?"
"Yeah, but where are you going all of a sudden?" Wonwoo looked up.
"Work." Woozi mumbled as he picked up the file and walked out. He made his way to Hoshi's cabin and knocked at the door. He just couldn't understand what this sudden urge was to see the older.
As he got the permit, Woozi stepped into the cabin. He looked much relaxed and content, "Here, you wanted this file, right?"
"Yeah." Hoshi took the document, "But wasn't Mr. Jeon, in-charge of it?"
"Yeah-" Woozi scratched his forehead, "Right."
"So?" Hoshi raised a brow, "How come you're giving me this file instead of Mr. Jeon?"
"Didn't you say I don't have to escape your eyesight?" Woozi protested, "I was just showing you that I was all fine."
"Oh really?" Hoshi chuckled sarcastically, "How adorable."
"Shut up." Woozi rolled his eyes, "I'm just making your task easy."
"So now you suddenly care about making my life easier?" Hoshi leaned back in his chair, "How sweet of you."
"Right?" Woozi retorted the sarcasm while placing his hands on the desk, "Because earlier I had made your life hell, didn't I? It wasn't like you had locked me up in your apartment. And it's totally not like you're keeping me in check every now and then."
"Now, now, we don't have to debate over it again." Hoshi's gaze travelled to the younger's hands on the desk, "You seem awfully comfortable there."
Woozi paused for a moment after which he walked around the table. He hopped slightly and sat on the desk beside the older's chair, "Yeah, very comfortable."
"Oh really? Then I guess you won't mind if I do this." Hoshi leaned back on his chair, his eyes roaming over the younger from head to toe.
"What exactly?" Woozi raised a brow.
Hoshi crossed his arms against his chest, "You look awfully good sitting on my desk like that."
"Do I?" Woozi raised a brow, "How good, Soonyoung?"
"Very good." Hoshi could feel a subtle stirring in the pit of his stomach, his gaze darkening, "If I was a weaker man, I'd have you on my lap right now."
Woozi gasped slightly at the blunt response. He crossed his legs, one over another, "How strong do you think you are, Kwon Soonyoung?"
"Strong enough to keep myself from pinning you down on this desk." Hoshi replied, "But not nearly strong enough to stop myself from craving to do just that."
"Oh c'mon, you're strong in that case." Woozi slightly leaned in, "Considering, you had kept me at your place for long enough without doing any of it."
"Don't tempt me." Hoshi mumbled, "You've no idea how hard it was for me, it still is."
"I'm not tempting you." Woozi's feet touched the older's seat's armrest, "Oh, sorry. It was a mistake, you know?"
"Right, a mistake." Hoshi reached out an grabbed the younger's ankle, his hand encircling it with a firm but gentle grip, "A mistake that could easily be rectified."
"Leave that, Mr. Kwon. I heard you're too famous for being a gentle, handsome man among the employees?" Woozi shifted a bit on the desk to sit comfortably.
"Oh?" Hoshi's hand slid upward, tracing a path up the younger's calf, then the back of his knee, "What exactly have you heard about me?"
"Handsome face, gentle tone, pretty smile, what not?" Woozi worded out, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Hoshi chuckled, "You pay good attention over what others are talking about me."
"Spare me, I'm not interested." Woozi rolled his eyes, "I just happened to hear it, that's all."
"Hmm I see." Hoshi leaned forward in his chair, "You sure you're not jealous, Woozi?"
"Why would I be jealous? I've nothing to do with you." Woozi scoffed.
Hoshi stood up, placing his hands on the desk, either side of the younger, "Well, you're in my cabin, sitting on my desk. Doesn't seem like 'nothing to do with me' now, does it?
"Oh I'm so sorry, am I eating up your time?" Woozi faked an apologetic tone, "You should have been out there right now, wooing some attention on yourself."
Hoshi leaned in closer, "Don't you worry, I have all the attention I need, right here."
"I-"
"Or I've an even better idea." Hoshi suggested.
"What?" Woozi frowned.
"How about I take you out there and kiss you?" Hoshi's chuckle widened, "No one will talk about me after that."
"What-" Woozi's eyes widened.
"You heard me." Hoshi whispered, "Let me take you out there and let me kiss you in front of everyone."
Woozi pressed his palms against the older's chest, "Have you gone mad or something?"
Hoshi grabbed the younger's wrists, easily pinning them to the desk, "I'm not mad." His gaze dropped to Woozi's lips for a brief moment before meeting his eyes again, "Just finally getting tired of holding myself back."
Woozi bit his lower lip at the anticipation, "I hate you, a lot!"
"Oh didn't know biting lips is the new version of showing hate." Hoshi grinned, "Well, you can bite mine too, you know?"
"Why am I stuck with you?" Woozi paused, "Why do I want to kiss you and kick you at the same time- NO! No no no, that's not what I meant. Not at all, I swear- argh-!!"
"Oh there-" Hoshi raised a brow with a smug smile, "You want to kiss me?"
"Shut up, it was just a slip of tongue." Woozi frowned.
"Is it?" Hoshi's lips hovered over the younger's, "Then maybe I should make you slip up a bit more."
Woozi's heartbeat raced. He stared at the older's lips. Fuck the smile, the lips were more tempting at that moment, "I-"
"What is it?" Hoshi whispered, caressing the younger's wrists with his thumbs.
"Just once." Woozi breathed out.
"Just once?" Hoshi asked, his lips hovering just a breath away from the younger's, "One kiss?"
Woozi inhaled a deep breath as he nodded, "One."
Without another word, he closed the gap between their lips, capturing the younger's lips in a long-overdue kiss, his tongue exploring Woozi's mouth with a possessive hunger.
Woozi gripped the older's coat's collars, pulling him closer as he squeezed his eyes shut. Hoshi held the younger's nape with one hand while the other slipped down to his waist as his tongue slid into the younger's mouth, tasting and exploring every inch.
Hoshi reluctantly parted away, his eyes roaming over the younger's face, "That was just once, huh?"
"I think." Woozi hopped down to stand on his own, "I'll be coming back for more."
Hoshi leaned against the desk with a sly smile, "You think you can just come back anytime you want?"
"I will." Woozi sternly stated, "And make any demand I want. You can't stop me."
"Come back again and I swear I won't stop at 'just once'." Hoshi declared.
"Will see about that." Woozi winked as he left the cabin.
"What was this?" Hoshi sunk down into his chair, the previous moment not leaving his mind for even a second.
But his thoughts were interrupted when he heard a ring of his phone. He pulled the drawer to see an incoming call from a private number on the phone which was for his identity as Hoshi.
"Hello?" Hoshi frowned.
"Recognized me or not?"
Hoshi gasped for a moment, clearly recognizing the voice, "What do you want?"
"Calm down there. You thought y'all can hide such a huge truth from me? You thought I won't reach my daughter's culprit."
Hoshi's eyes widened, "What the fuck you're talking about?"
"Cut the crap, Hoshi. I'm sending you a few beautiful pictures, take a look."
Hoshi scrolled through his phone without cutting the call and he could swear his soul left his body when he saw pictures of Woozi of the time when they had gone out for a dinner.
"I didn't know that spying on you all will help me later, like this. But guess what? It did."
"What do you have to do with him huh? I swear if you even try to touch him, I'll peel every inch of your skin with my own fucking hands, you old bastard!!"
"Oh I like the confidence. But you know what? You can go on and peel my skin exactly like you want but would that help you getting back your favorite person hmm? No, right?"
"What's your problem?!"
"Nothing. Just hand me that little bitch of Scoups or else, I'm taking yours. And telling him won't do shit, you know that."
"YOU WON'T DARE-"
"I'm sending you the address and time which is for the night of day after tomorrow, goodbye~"
"What the-" Hoshi was cut off as the call was hung up, "Shit!!"
<Rose Quartz>
Seungcheol knocked at the open door of Jeonghan's room, "You called me?"
"Yeah." Jeonghan nodded as he gestured at the space in front of him, on the bed, "Sit."
Seungcheol walked in as he took a seat. He stared at a package kept in front of him and frowned.
"This is-" Jeonghan pushed the small bag towards the older, "For you."
"For me?" Seungcheol took the bag and looked into it. He pulled out a box from it, "A watch?"
"How's it?" Jeonghan asked.
Seungcheol unpacked it and looked at it thoroughly, "It's amazing. But why have you bought me a watch all of a sudden?"
"I just did, what's the problem?" Jeonghan whined, "And anyways. Here you go." He picked up a bouquet of flowers from the side table and handed it to the older.
"These flowers are also for me?" Seungcheol gasped. He put aside the watch and quickly focused on the bouquet, "Wow! Seriously?! Thank you so much!"
Jeonghan was taken aback for a moment. The glint in the older's eyes, he had never seen that.
"Wh-" Jeonghan paused, "You literally gave an average reaction at a watch and after seeing the flowers you're acting like I gave you the whole world."
"Yeah." Seungcheol nodded, the smile never leaving his face, "I've received these accessories a few times back, but I have never got flowers from anyone."
Jeonghan stared at him blankly.
"Woah!" Seungcheol exclaimed, "These are so beautiful and smell so good."
"You-" Jeonghan managed to smile, "You seem to like them a lot."
"I love them!" Seungcheol's smile widened as he teased, "Who knew you could be so thoughtful and generous?"
Jeonghan was still in the state of mild amusement, "I never knew that I'll ever get this reaction from you just by some flowers."
"What can I say? I'm a sucker for small gestures and nobody has ever bothered to get me flowers." Seungcheol chuckled lazily, "You've no clue how much this means to me."
"I really didn't expect this." Jeonghan muttered, "I thought you'll like the watch and forget the flowers."
"The watch is nice and all but there's just something about flowers that makes it too special." Seungcheol glanced at the younger, "You seriously didn't think the flowers would matter that much to me?"
"I'm sorry, I think I judged you." Jeonghan muttered, getting embarrassed, "I thought bullets and flowers can't sit in the same heart."
"Or it's just-" Seungcheol sighed, "Flowers don't like to bloom where the bullets fire."
"Flowers can bloom anywhere, Seungcheol." Jeonghan stated quietly, "If they get the tender care they need."
"They can't." Seungcheol chuckled bitterly.
"But you did." Jeonghan blurted out.
Seungcheol's head jerked up, his eyes locking into Jeonghan's, "I- What?"
Jeonghan quickly looked away, scratching his forehead, "Forget it."
"Forget it?" Seungcheol placed the flowers aside for a moment, "I'm not going to do anything like that."
"Yeah whatever." Jeonghan rolled his eyes, "Don't bother me with it."
Seungcheol laughed slightly, "You said what you had to, now there's no going back."
"Enough." Jeonghan whined, "Take this watch and flowers and go back to your room."
"Now suddenly you want to get rid of me?" Seungcheol raised a brow, "Brought me gifts and all but now kicking me out."
"Don't think too much, I bought them because it just came to my mind." Jeonghan looked away, "Don't try to feel special or something."
"Oh, really now? You just randomly decided to get a watch and flowers for me because it "came to your mind"?" Seungcheol taunted, closing the distance between them. "How many people do you randomly buy gifts for, exactly?"
"Wha-" Jeonghan's eyes widened, "Seriously?!!"
"I'm just asking a simple question." Seungcheol teased, his voice low and smooth. "How many people do you buy gifts for? I think it's a fair question to ask, considering the special treatment I'm receiving."
Jeonghan shoved the gifts against the older's chest, "Take your belongings and go back to your room."
"Really?" Seungcheol raised a brow, "Then hold these for a moment."
Jeonghan held the watch and bouquet, "Why?"
Seungcheol chuckled as he lifted the younger in his arms.
"What the-" Jeonghan gasped, "What are you doing? Put me down!"
"You just asked me to gather my belongings and go to my room." Seungcheol walked out, "I'm doing that. And I'm not trying to objectify you at all as you said earlier."
"Wow Choi Seungcheol." Jeonghan scoffed, "There's something in the air of your mansion. You change so much here."
"What change?" Seungcheol inquired, carrying the younger with ease through the halls of his mansion, "I'm simply following your instructions."
"I think I should buy your flowers every day." Jeonghan teased, "They intoxicate you the best."
"Here we are." Seungcheol gently placed him on the edge of the bed.
"And why are we here?" Jeonghan crossed his arms against his chest, "You brought me here for your cheesy line and now I've to go back to my room. Walking for no reason."
"Who said you have to go back?" Seungcheol stepped closer, "I brought you here because I want you to stay."
Jeonghan chuckled as he stood up, "Bringing people to your bedroom is not very nice, Mr. Choi."
"You already think I brought you to my room for impure intentions?" Seungcheol raised a brow.
"I-" Jeonghan's eyes widened as he averted his gaze, "That's not what I meant."
"Then? What did you mean?" Seungcheol's fingers traced the younger's jawline.
"Nothing, good night!" Jeonghan chuckled as he began to leave.
"Leaving so soon?" Seungcheol teased as he held the younger's wrist, "We've barely gotten started."
Jeonghan looked at the older, "What do you mean?"
Seungcheol pulled him closer, wrapping an arm around the younger's waist, "I mean, that I'm not ready to let you leave just yet."
"And what if I stay?" Jeonghan breathed out, "Then what?"
"Then I get to keep you longer." Seungcheol's husky voice echoed, "And maybe, just maybe, we could find something else to do besides talking."
Jeonghan clutched on the older's shirt into his fist, "Stop talking like that."
"Like what?" Seungcheol inched closer to the younger.
Jeonghan's grip on the older's shirt tightened, crumbling it further, "Like this."
"And if I don't stop?" Seungcheol pulled the younger closer, "What are you going to do about it?"
"I will-" Jeonghan frowned, "What will I do?"
"Exactly." Seungcheol whispered, "You don't know, what to do, do you?"
"And you know?" Jeonghan asked.
"Oh, I have a few ideas." Seungcheol's hands moved to the younger's hips, "Ideas that involve you, me and this bed."
"Oh, I get it." Jeonghan chuckled, a hint of mischief in his eyes, "You're right, we should get a good amount of sleep. We've to go to office tomorrow."
"Good amount of sleep?" Seungcheol's hand roamed over the younger's body, "You really think I'm going to let you sleep when you're in my bed, darling?"
"C'mon, I can't sleep on the floor." Jeonghan teased further.
"I wouldn't even dream of that." Seungcheol raised a brow, "You'll be in bed with me, right where I want you."
Jeonghan grinned mischievously, "How so, Mr. Choi?"
"Just like this." Seungcheol hand travelled to the younger's thighs, "With your body pressed tight against mine, under me."
"Calm down there." Jeonghan laughed slightly, "Don't slip too much."
"You're the one who's doing most of the talking." Seungcheol retorted, his hands sliding under Jeonghan's thighs, lifting him up effortlessly. "Maybe I should give you something better to do with that mouth of yours, darling."
Jeonghan clutched on the older's shoulders, "You're being too handy with me these days, lifting me here and there."
"I can't help it." Seungcheol carried him towards the bed.
"I should probably put on 20-30 kgs and then let's see what you will do." Jeonghan mocked.
"I dare you." Seungcheol settled him on the bed with a gentle thud, "Put those extra kgs and see if I stop lifting you around."
"Oh you won't?" Jeonghan raised a brow.
"Not a chance, darling." Seungcheol hovered over him, his hands grasping the younger's wrists, pinning them above his head. "You could put on a hundred kgs and I'd still lift you up without breaking a sweat."
Both of them shared an intense eye contact as Seungcheol began to lean in but Jeonghan halted him.
"I'm sorry." Jeonghan blurted out.
Seungcheol paused at the sudden apology, his hold on the younger loosening, "What for?"
Jeonghan sat up on the bed as he ran his fingers through his hair, "It's so messed up. I don't know how to explain."
"Take your time." Seungcheol looked at him, "It's alright, just say what's on your mind, no matter how messed up you think it is."
Jeonghan clutched his chest as he gulped, "I put you through a lot. I shouldn't have done that. It's stupid. I can't and shouldn't be forcing someone to love me back. It's- it's really messed up."
"Look at me, Jeonghan." Seungcheol held his shoulders, "You don't need to apologise for having feelings, it's natural. But yeah, you can't force someone to love you back. That's not how it works."
"But that's exactly what I did." Jeonghan looked down, "Now that I look at it, I was upset just because you didn't retort my feelings. Be it because of your pride or be it because you were confused, it was still your choice, it still is. And I've no right to force you each time, to threaten you with stupid things and to bring you down."
Seungcheol remained speechless for a moment.
"I'm-" Jeonghan gently shrugged away his hands, "I'm really sorry for all that. I promise I won't do those sorts of things ever again."
"Even I made mistakes, Jeonghan, it wasn't always you." Seungcheol acknowledged, "What matters is the fact that you're willing to fix it."
"Fix what?" Jeonghan slowly looked up, "What's between us, Seungcheol? Earlier it was my obsession and now it's my guilt."
"Well, we've to start somewhere right?" Seungcheol held the younger's wrists, "And it's not just about your obsession or guilt, it's more than that. Before that, we need to talk. Really talk."
"We do." Jeonghan nodded, "Whatever I did, I won't shrug it away by saying that I didn't mean any of it."
"I also made a lot of mistakes, Jeonghan." Seungcheol stated, "It's not like, I was all nice to you all the time and I'm sorry for that."
"I know." Jeonghan mumbled, "But there are a few things, I shouldn't have done. I'm- I'm really ashamed of that."
"What's done, is done." Seungcheol caressed the younger's cheeks, "We can't change it. We can learn from it and mend what's broken between us."
"Between us?" Jeonghan looked at the older, "Are you willing to have anything between us after all that I did?"
"I am." Seungcheol nodded, "All we need, is some time and we can figure it all out. Because this is, worth fighting for."
Jeonghan snuggled into the older's embrace, "I'll treat you right, Seungcheol, I promise."
"I know, you will." Seungcheol rested his chin on the younger's head, "But remember, we're not perfect. We'll just try to do better, for each other."
"No doubt." Jeonghan stated. But deep down he knew, repenting wasn't going to be that easy for him. Never.
Seungcheol shut his eyes. Jeonghan hesitated a bit as he muttered, "But what if I suddenly disappear from your life?"
Seungcheol chuckled slightly without opening his eyes, "Then I'll be super happy." He joked, "Now sleep. As if you're leaving my life, idiot."
"Then I'll be super happy." The reply echoed in Jeonghan's mind as he stared at the older.
A/n : I'm too busy these days lmao couldn't even reply to the comments nicely.
Anyways take care everyone!
