2 - Attention

•Rose Quartz Mansion•

Finally! After such a long wait, I got to see you in person today. You look as fine as ever. Love ya!

Seungcheol stared at the text that was dropped on his personal phone number, anonymously. He had three contact numbers, one for personal use, one for Serenity and one highly secured one for his underground businesses. And not only him but all of the Rose Quartz members worked like that.

"Who is this?" Seungcheol frowned. It was when another text popped up from the same private number. He had just came to his room after having dinner with his members and the first thing he saw on his phone was this wierd text from a private number which couldn't be replied to.

You'll refer to me as 'he', okay? Just so you know. Cheers to the proper beginning of our journey filled with love!

"What the fuck?" Seungcheol scrunched his brows, "Who is this maniac who decided to invite his death with these stupid texts?"

He quickly made his way through the hallway and barged into Vernon's room where Mingyu and Hoshi were also present.

"Vernon, get this phone number traced. I've texted you." Seungcheol massaged his forehead.

"What happened hyung?" Mingyu asked while Vernon checked his phone and opened his laptop.

"This is a private number." Vernon muttered.

"Should it be a problem?" Seungcheol raised a brow.

"Nah this is such a silly task." Vernon chuckled confidently.

"But what happened?" Hoshi intervened.

"Look at this." Seungcheol showed them the texts.

"Oh you've got a secret admirer." Mingyu teased.

"Shut up." Seungcheol rolled his eyes, "How did someone get my personal number? Over that he claims that he even saw me today? Who the fuck is he huh?"

"Calm down hyung." Hoshi patted his shoulder, "Maybe any of our friends are joking with you?"

"Hmm quite possible." Mingyu stated.

"Might be." Seungcheol nodded, "But a double check is our responsibility. We can't take the risk."

"It's-" Vernon frowned, "I can't track it. This is not possible!"

"Try again, you can do it." Hoshi encouraged, "You've done such great missions, these things are on your fingertips."

"Exactly! Still, this number can't be traced, no matter how much I try." Vernon reasoned.

"Told you." Seungcheol sighed, "I-" His phone ringed again as he opened it.

Aww baby, you're too eager to see me, aren't you?
Don't worry, I'm no harm. I love you after all, how can I be a threat to you?

"WHAT. THE. HELL?!" Seungcheol clenched his jaw, "Will you still call it a joke?"

"I mean- it can be." Mingyu shrugged, "What do you think? The prankster would reveal himself if you'll try to track him?"

"But how can he know that we're tracking him?" Hoshi intervened, "The texts aren't a threat but the power he holds, definitely is."

Seungcheol phone beeped again.

But I'm really upset that you forgot me that easily.
Like seriously?
You were desperate to see me again but now you don't even remember me?
This is not done, Choi.

"What?" Seungcheol frowned.

"You've met him before today as well?" Mingyu deciphered.

"Arghh." Seungcheol tossed his phone on the bed, "Who's this? WHO?!"

"Calm down hyung."

"What calm down?" Seungcheol raised a brow, "We've a possible threat over us and you're asking me to calm down."

"No but didn't he say he's not a threat?" Hoshi stated even though he didn't mean it.

"Yeah and we should believe it, right?" Seungcheol mocked.

"I mean- let's see what we can do." Vernon stood up, "We'll try."

"We HAVE to." Seungcheol stated.

Seungcheol's phone beeped again and he rolled his eyes.

Darling, the only way to find me is to recognise me.

"I swear-" Seungcheol clenched his jaw, "I'll find you, hunt you down and then let's see how prettily you can beg for mercy."

Soon enough, another text arrived.

From now on, you're all mine darling.
I still remember your breath on me and I can't seem to forget it.
I'll make sure no one else gets to feel the proximity I got to feel.

"Woah." Hoshi gasped as he peeked at the text, "What proximity hyung?"

Seungcheol ran his hand through his hair, "I literally don't know?"

"You don't remember." Vernon corrected.

"Whatever." Seungcheol scoffed as his phone beeped again.

All this won't have been happening
if you would have recalled me but you didn't.
I'm going to annoy you until you find me baby.
I hope you won't make me wait."

"Not fair hyung." Mingyu nodded, "You really played your charms on someone this bad and just forgot?"

"Shut up Mingyu, it's not a joke." Seungcheol frowned, "Whoever this is, has invited trouble for himself. The more he'll run away, the more I'm going to make him suffer."

"But why can't you recall the person if you shared a memorable encounter with him?" Hoshi asked.

"I've no idea." Seungcheol muttered, "How am I supposed to recall anyone like...this?"

"He said he met you today." Vernon stated.

"Today I met literally a lot of people." Seungcheol sighed, "Almost all the employees during the speech, the media, the reporters, the HODs for the meeting and that annoying employee of mine."

"Hmm so you did meet numerous people today." Mingyu nodded, "It's impossible to sort people out of the list."

"Anyone who particularly gained your attention for looking familiar?" Hoshi interrogated.

"Hmm....no." Seungcheol shrugged, "No one."

"The more we're dwelling, the more it's getting complicated." Vernon collapsed on his chair.

"Hyung, I think we should wait." Mingyu held his shoulders, "For some clues."

"That's the only option we have anyways." Hoshi stated.

"You're right." Seungcheol sighed heavily.

<Serenity HQ>

Seungcheol and Mingyu had just returned from a meeting as they were walking through the hallways of the Serenity HQ. They were passing by the cabin of the lead web designing team when the CEO halted.

He looked into the cabin which was empty except for one person resting his head on the desk and probably sleeping. And he was none other than the HOD of the team.

"Isn't it lunch time, why is he sleeping here?" Seungcheol frowned.

"Are you really asking that?" Mingyu raised a brow, "You're yourself making him over work."

"He deserves it." Seungcheol scoffed, "Ask someone to call him in my cabin after half an hour."

Both the males walked away after which the break time ended as well.

Soon enough, Woozi, Wonwoo, Joshua, Seungkwan and Minghao were gathered around Jeonghan, feeling bad for him.

"Hyung-" Woozi shook him.

Jeonghan grunted as he slowly rose up.

"Break- uh- ended." Joshua held his shoulder, "You didn't even eat."

"Leave it." Jeonghan massaged his forehead, "I needed to take a nap."

It was when a staff member knocked, "Mr. Yoon, the CEO has summoned you." He bowed and left.

"Ugh now what?" Jeonghan rolled his eyes in distress.

"Wow he has literally targeted you now." Seungkwan frowned.

"For real." Minghao nodded as Wonwoo sighed.

"I'm going." Jeonghan muttered as he left.

Everyone watched him leaving the cabin, a sense of worry building inside them.

Meanwhile, Jeonghan lazily made his way to the required destination.

"What's all this?" Jeonghan stared at the loads of delicious food kept in front of him as he was sitting in Seungcheol's cabin.

"Food, I guess?" Seungcheol stated.

"For what?"

"I think it's edible."

"Mr. Choi, can you please get to the point?" Jeonghan chuckled sarcastically.

"I had to discuss a few things with you." Seungcheol explained, "And I just returned from a meeting and had to eat so I thought of doing both the tasks at the same time. Now of course it would not be very great to eat alone in front of someone so yeah, this is for you too."

Jeonghan stared at him for a while, "Are you alright?"

"Don't waste my time with stupid questions." Seungcheol gestured him to start eating as he helped the younger to serve.

"So, Mr. Yoon, we were going to have a presentation this Sunday." Seungcheol began, "But some important work came up to me so we've to amend it."

Jeonghan sighed in relief internally. But soon his relief got converted into worry as he still didn't know about the CEO's further demands and he didn't have a good feeling about it.

"And I also think that you giving the presentation will consume a lot of unnecessary time." Seungcheol nodded, "So it's better that you make the presentation and mail it to me, I'll see it by myself."

"Alright, Mr. Choi." Jeonghan agreed.

"These days, I'm busy so complete the presentation by next week's Friday." Seungcheol stated.

Jeonghan could swear that he wanted to scream in happiness. He finally got the desired time to complete his work without over working himself and sleeping while sacrificing food. He internally thanked the people who made Seungcheol busy for the upcoming days.

"It will be done, for sure." Jeonghan chuckled to himself.

Soon enough, Jeonghan left with a content feeling after which Mingyu stepped in, knowing the scenario very well.

"Can't believe you spared him that easily." Mingyu gasped.

"I don't have time for these little menaces, I can fix them whenever I want to and it's evident. I've a bigger mess in picture." Seungcheol scoffed, "Did Vernon find out a clue?"

"No." Mingyu replied.

Seungcheol sighed, "Any other clue or suspect?"

"Hyung-" Mingyu began, "Remember Min Hyeseok's daughter, Min Areum?"

"Why would you recall that psycho?" Seungcheol frowned.

"You know how obsessed she is." Mingyu hesitated, "With you."

"But Areum ain't a...male?"

"And what makes you think she can't lie?"

"Huh." Seungcheol paused, "But you know damn well, neither Areum nor Hyeseok is cunning enough to plan this so neatly."

"That's also a point." Mingyu nodded.

"Plus they're still in LA and I hope they never return." Seungcheol groaned.

"Or else you're getting married to a psycho." Mingyu laughed.

"I'll rather kill them before that happens." Seungcheol sighed.

"I know." Mingyu muttered, "Do you have a doubt on anyone?"

"Not at all, I swear." Seungcheol scoffed, "I literally don't know a single person who can pull such a stunt."

"Stalker." Mingyu mumbled, "We've to figure out who this can be."

"Exactly." Seungcheol pointed out, "Anyways, what happened with that illegal supply of drugs to the university? Who did that?"

"Kim Leehyuk knows." Mingyu informed, "He'll spill the truth. I've fixed a meeting with him tonight at Spell Club. We can find it out through him."

"We've to, no matter what." Seungcheol sighed, "This is not acceptable. Whoever is trying to intoxicate the university funded by us, should be executed as soon as possible."

"Don't worry, it will be settled." Mingyu chuckled.

It was when they heard a knock on the door.

"Come in."

The door opened as Jeonghan stepped in, "Mr. Choi, I think I forgot my phone here."

Seungcheol looked at his desk and found out a foreign device. He pointed at it and gestured Jeonghan to take it.

Jeonghan picked up the phone but he accidentally hit the glass of water which fell over Seungcheol.

"I'm sorry." Jeonghan apologized immediately.

Seungcheol simply sighed massaging his forehead, "Please leave."

"I can?" Jeonghan stared at him in disbelief, not being able to digest the fact that Seungcheol didn't blow up again.

"I beg you." Seungcheol joined his hands together, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "Please leave Mr. Yoon. Before you 'accidentally' burn my cabin down, take your leave."

Jeonghan hesitated but left quickly.

As soon as he disappeared, Mingyu laughed, "I swear, he will never let a single day of yours go boring."

"It's not funny." Seungcheol cleaned the mess with tissues, "Since day one, he somehow causes trouble for me, no matter what. I can't understand how can he do his work perfectly when he is this clumsy in his daily life."

"Did you just compliment him?" Mingyu widened his eyes.

"I just said what's true." Seungcheol nodded.

A knock was heard again.

"Come in." Seungcheol grunted as Jeonghan slowly walked in.

Seungcheol rolled his eyes, "What now?"

"Mr. Choi, can you be a bit polite, you know?" Jeonghan remarked.

Seungcheol smiled sarcastically, "How may I help you, Mr. Yoon?"

"Sign this file." Jeonghan kept it on the table, "I'm here for work or else I won't even step into this floor."

"Trust me Mr. Yoon, that would be MY pleasure." Seungcheol mumbled while Mingyu was internally enjoying their banter.

Jeonghan rolled his eyes.

"Did you just roll your eyes on me?" Seungcheol raised a brow.

"Everything is not about you." Jeonghan retorted, "People have their own lives too."

"I hope they do." Seungcheol taunted, "I'll be really glad if they do."

"Same to you, Mr. Choi." Jeonghan chuckled politely.

"How can I get rid of you huh?" Seungcheol frowned.

"Probably stop glaring at me and look at that file to sign it quickly so that I can leave?" Jeonghan retorted.

Mingyu tried his best to suppress his giggle.

"May I know what's so funny, Mingyu?" Seungcheol turned to him.

"Yeah, now people need your permission to laugh as well." Jeonghan muttered beneath his breath, "Entitled narcissist."

"What did you say?" Seungcheol looked up.

"The file?" Jeonghan asked.

Seungcheol sighed as he went through the document. He signed it and handed it to Jeonghan who left immediately.

Mingyu broke down into a brief laughter as soon as he left.

"Stop it."

"He's so good at being politely impolite." Mingyu grinned, "He said so much yet you can't point him out."

"Go marry him then, if he has impressed you so much." Seungcheol irritatingly stated.

"I don't think I can handle him." Mingyu took the joke lightly, "But you can."

"Not even in my hundredth life." Seungcheol clenched his jaw.

A/n : I want to clear one thing. Some of you think it's CEO x mafia. It isn't. The Serenity Hyperbotics and Rose Quartz Clan are the same. They just have different names for their business and underworld activities.

Jeonghan ain't a mafia as you can already see.

Anyways, take care everyone!
