17 - Sweater Weather

<Yoon Mansion>

"So you're sure you aren't dating him?" Jeonghan was talking over the call.

"Why the hell would I date him in reality?!" Wonwoo whined.

"Damn, I shouldn't have left early." Jeonghan mumbled.

"Honestly." Wonwoo sighed.

"And you- listen, I'll talk to you later. Dad has arrived, I guess." Jeonghan stated.

"Oh you went to visit your place?" Wonwoo asked, "Greet them from my side."

"Sure, take care. We'll talk about this later." Jeonghan hung up the call.

"Ah my son!" Jaebyeom walked in, "I heard you spent a great time with your mom and sister?"

"Of course." Jeonghan embraced him, "But you had to get late."

"I'm really sorry son!" Jaebyeom aplogised, "You know-"

"Yeah, I know." Jeonghan chuckled, "And now I'm leaving. I just waited to see you at least."

"Already?" Jaebyeom asked.

"Yeah, it's too late now." Jeonghan nodded, "I've to drive a long way through."

"I'll send a driver, why would you worry?" Jaebyeom suggested.

"Dad, you know!" Jeonghan reminded.

"Yeah." Jaebyeom patted his head. They talked for a while after which Jeonghan got into his car and drove away.

Halfway through, he realised that he was being followed. He made some turns and drifts, but the car was still behind him. He clearly understood that it wasn't a coincidence. He just couldn't figure out who was behind him.

Jeonghan increased the speed of his car. The late hour had made the roads dead silent, and it wasn't helping at all.

The anonymous car followed closely, maintaining the speed according to Jeonghan. But soon enough, the car lost its balance and struck a nearby pole.

A bullet had struck on one of the tiers at the back.

The two men got out of the car, Jeonghan was already out of sight.

"Scoups?" They recognised, "Oh glad you're here! That car is one of our suspects."

"I know. Did you inform this to Mr. Min?" Seungcheol asked.

"Not yet." They informed, "And what do you mean you know?"

"Great." Seungcheol chuckled as he pulled out his gun.

"What are you doing?"

"You found the culprit." Seungcheol raised his gun, "But unfortunately, you're not allowed to lay your hands on him, not even in your fucking dreams."

"Wha-" Before they could react, Seungcheol fired the bullet right through their foreheads as both of them collapsed on the road.

Seungcheol quickly texted to get help in getting everything clean.

But before he could seek some relief, he heard a loud noise thrice. He flinched as he turned around to look at his damaged car and Jeonghan standing by it with a metal rod.

"Jeongh- Mr. Yoon!!" Seungcheol gasped, "What the hell?!"

Jeonghan dropped the rod on the floor and walked towards the older.

"Just how much crazier can you get?!!" Seungcheol was in disbelief.

Jeonghan pressed the older against his damaged car, wrapping his fingers around his throat, "Why were you following me? They were behind me, right? Why did you jump in and kill them?"

"I wasn't following you or whatever." Seungcheol retorted, ignoring Jeonghan's grip on his neck, "They were Hyeseok's men, my enemies."

"Do you think I'm going to take that crap?" Jeonghan grunted, "You want me away from your life but want to dance in mine every now and then?"

Seungcheol's irritation flared at Jeonghan's words. He wrenched out of Jeonghan's grip, pushing the younger against the car instead.

"I don't want anything to do with you." Seungcheol cleared out, "You're nothing to me, you hear? Nothing."

"Then why the fuck do you keep interfering in my life like this?" Jeonghan retorted, "The people you just fired were a threat to me, to nothing."

"I didn't interfere in your life willingly." Seungcheol spat gripping his hands, "I just happened to be here and since they were my enemy's men, I did that."

"No don't even 'happen' to be around me." Jeonghan glared at the older, "You helping me shouldn't even be a coincidence, get this inside your brain!"

"Why the hell are you so defensive about this?" Seungcheol frowned, "Do you want me to just stand by and watch them thrashing your car?"

"Yes." Jeonghan grabbed your collars, "Whatever happens to me, you just watch! And if possible, enjoy it."

"You can't be serious." Seungcheol paused, "How can I just watch-"

"Why?" Jeonghan pushed the older in a daring manner, "Why can't you see me getting hurt? Why is it so bothersome to you? Why the hell are you pretending to care for me Choi Seungcheol?!!"

"I'm not pretending anything." Seungcheol stated, "It's natural to be concerned about anyone who is in danger."

"Oh, please shut the fuck up. You aren't that kind and I know it." Jeonghan sharply cut off, "You're just trying to be relevant. I'm warning you; don't you dare try to play these games. If you've decided to stay out, then fucking STAY OUT!!"

"And? Why should I listen to you?" Seungcheol raised a brow, "You think you can tell me what to do? I'll do whatever the hell I want."

"Until it involves me. I don't give a damn of what you do unless it's related to me." Jeonghan clenched his jaw.

"And if it involves you?" Seungcheol stepped closer, "What then, hm?"

"Then-" Jeonghan pulled out his dagger, "I'll give you a sharp memory of the consequences."

Seungcheol chuckled, "You think you can scare me with that thing?"

"No?" Jeonghan maintained his composure, "I'm pretty sure you'll love to get marked by me."

Seungcheol's eyes narrowed as he found that nonchalant confidence of the younger incredibly attractive.

Seungcheol pressed the younger against the car once more, "And what makes you think I'd let you do that?"

"I don't remember asking you for permission?" Jeonghan glared, suppressing his reaction to the older's proximity.

"No, you didn't." Seungcheol grunted as he grabbed the younger's wrist, bringing the dagger closer to his own chest, "Where do you want to mark me?"

Jeonghan's grip on the dagger tightened as he gulped, "Don't oblige me-"

"I'm not obliging, I'm daring you." Seungcheol made him press the tip of the dagger onto his chest, directly over his heart, "Right here?"

"Shut up." Jeonghan maintained his calm, "Don't think I'm playing around."

"I know you won't do it, you're all talk." Seungcheol whispered, "Or prove me wrong, darling?" He muttered, the word slipping out before he could stop it.

Jeonghan's grip on the dagger began to loosen as he tried to pull it back.

Seungcheol grabbed Jeonghan's wrist again, pushing the dagger close to his chest, "Do it."

"Stop it." Jeonghan clenched his jaw, hating the fact that he couldn't seem to swipe a victory towards himself. He definitely didn't want a win on the stake of hurting the older.

"What am I supposed to stop?" Seungcheol whispered against the younger's lips, "You're the one holding the dagger, you're in control. C'mon, take revenge."

Jeonghan retracted the dragger, "Enough. I don't have time for your crap, I just had to warn you. Don't try to interfere in my life."

"And what if I don't listen?" Seungcheol pressed their bodies together, "What if I keep interfering in your life?"

"You were the one to deny everything." Jeonghan retorted, "Now stand by it."

"Deny everything?" Seungcheol's breath was hot against the younger's skin, "Who says that I still want to deny it? Resisting you is impossible. Really."

And if I may just take your breath away
I don't mind if there's much to say
Sometimes the silence guides our minds
So move to a place so far away

"And who says I still care?" Jeonghan looked at him, "Didn't I tell you? Once you say no, I won't give in, even if you decide to swallow your ego some day? I'm not a toy of yours to work according to you."

"That's the case." Seungcheol pulled him closer, "So the tables have turned now? Right?"

"I don't care." Jeonghan inched closer to the older's lips, "Even if I want you Seungcheol, I won't give in. Never. You denied my feelings once, right? Good job, I'll deny them too."

"Deny them then. I dare you." Seungcheol whispered.

"I don't want anything and I'm very much clear about it." Jeonghan declared.

"So you're stern on denying all of it?" Seungcheol gripped the younger's waist.

"Exactly. But at the same time, I'll not let you live in peace either." Jeonghan warned, "Unless you promise to stay away from me."

"Fine, then. I don't want any peace in my life if it means to stay close to you." Seungcheol's grip on the younger tightened, "What will you do now?"

"Brace yourself, Mr. Choi." Jeonghan gritted his teeth, "You're going to regret it, darling."

"Threaten me all you want." Seungcheol's fingers traced the younger's arms, "But I'm not going to stay away from you.

You've got into this trouble because of me, now, I'll be the one to pull you out, no matter what it takes."

"My dagger would have given you visible scars Seungcheol and trust me, that was way better than what's coming your way." Jeonghan whispered.

"Bring it on." Seungcheol challenged, "I've hurt you, right? Do your worst, darling."

Jeonghan chuckled menacingly while placing his palm on the older's neck, "Oh, I definitely will. And you won't be able to understand if you're enjoying or suffering."

Seungcheol leaned closer to his ear, "Promise?"

"Promise." Jeonghan retorted.

"Alright, then." Seungcheol retracted away, "I'm prepared."

"Hold on." Jeonghan called, "This does not mean that you'll come up and try to become some so-called savior for me each time."

"I'll accept anything except for this." Seungcheol sternly mentioned.

"I'm not asking you."

"I not at all care about that."

"Don't be stubborn." Jeonghan rolled his eyes.

"I'll be very stubborn, got it?" Seungcheol retorted.

"Choi Seungcheol!" Jeonghan warned, "Stay out of my life until I myself let you in."

"And what if I don't?" Seungcheol stepped closer, "What if I refuse to stay out of your life?"

"Then I very well know how to kick you out of my life." Jeonghan glared.

"You listen to me." Seungcheol scoffed, "Let's make a deal."

"What deal?" Jeonghan asked.

"Hyeseok is a threat to you, right?" Seungcheol began, "He's searching for you like crazy."

Jeonghan simply nodded.

"And at the same time, he's my enemy too." Seungcheol stated, "Both of us want his complete end."

"So?"

"Let's join hands for this matter only." Seungcheol suggested, "We can work on this together. Condition being, you'll inform me everything that happens to you because of Hyeseok and also discuss your moves over it. In return, I'll do the same.

Whatever we plan against him, either together or separately will be a responsibility of both of us."

Jeonghan stared at him for a while, "And if you try to take full control?"

"Then you can also do whatever you want." Seungcheol answered.

"I don't trust you." Jeonghan scoffed, "I want written documents for the same."

"The papers will be ready by tomorrow morning." Seungcheol extended his hand, "Deal?"

"Deal." Jeonghan shook hands with him.

"Now, drop me home." Seungcheol stated, "Because you've thrashed my car."

"Whatever." Jeonghan rolled his eyes, "Get in."

Seungcheol got into the passenger's seat while Jeonghan occupied the driver's seat as the engine roared. He reached to put his address in the gps but halted when Jeonghan let out a chuckle, "As if I don't know."

"Oh right, how can I forget I'm here with my ex-stalker." Seungcheol retorted.

Jeonghan ignored his remark as he continued to drive.

"I'm really pathetic." Seungcheol sighed, "Riding in the car of the person who just threatened me with a dagger."

"Yeah? Your pride must be crumbling down, right?" Jeonghan focused on the road.

"You're not wrong." Seungcheol chuckled, "You've that habit of knocking me off my high horse."

"Flattery doesn't work on me, Mr. Choi." Jeonghan scoffed, "Even if I'm down for you."

"Oh, I know flattery doesn't work on you." Seungcheol teased, "But, I can't help myself, you're just so damn desirable."

"Could've saved everything by saying this a week ago." Jeonghan muttered beneath his breath.

"You were right, my stupid ego ruined everything." Seungcheol agreed.

"Cry over it." Jeonghan retorted.

"You're not going to make it easy, are you?" Seungcheol tried to cover his regret with a teasing tone.

"Yeah darling, watch me make it impossible." Jeonghan spat back.

"Exciting." Seungcheol remarked.

Soon enough, they reached the mansion of Rose Quartz Clan while Seungcheol was busy texting.

"We're here." Jeonghan declared.

"Come out." Seungcheol demanded.

"What for?" Jeonghan stepped out of his car.

"You won't be using this car anymore." Seungcheol stated as he pointed at another one parked at the pathway of the mansion, right in front of them, "You'll use this one along with the driver."

"Shut up already." Jeonghan rolled his eyes.

"It's serious." Seungcheol intervened, "They only know the car and the number plate. They don't know you. Just change the car and let the driver be around you 24/7."

"That easily?" Jeonghan chuckled menacingly while leaning against the car.

"Now what do you have in mind?" Seungcheol scoffed.

"Why a driver?" Jeonghan teased, "Can I not have you to drive me everywhere?"

"That's not practically possible." Seungcheol stated, "Imagine if you want to go somewhere and I'm busy with another work at a distance which takes an hour of driving? It will be a mess."

"Then your deal isn't very convincing." Jeonghan crossed his arms across his chest.

"Hear me out." Seungcheol sighed, "The driver will drop you to office in the morning, right? I'll drop you home in the evening- umm two times a week."

"All business days." Jeonghan intervened.

"Three-"

"All."

"Okay." Seungcheol agreed, "All business days, it is."

"Good." Jeonghan grinned in victory.

"You're a menace." Seungcheol shook his head in disbelief, "Do you enjoy driving me up the wall like this?"

"This is just the beginning." Jeonghan retorted.

"I don't doubt it." Seungcheol replied, "You're going to make my life hell, aren't you?"

"Bold of you to assume that you belonged to the heaven in the first place." Jeonghan laughed mockingly.

"Right." Seungcheol admitted, "I've never been a saint and I never will be. But then again, neither will you."

"Good night." Jeonghan stated.

"Good night to you too." Seungcheol replied, "Don't let nightmares of me plague your dreams."

Jeonghan chuckled while walking away, "And I hope nightmares of me ruin your sleep."

"Whatever." Seungcheol remarked as he watched the younger walk away.

A part of him couldn't help but hope that Jeonghan's nightmares would indeed flood into his dreams.
