"WHAT IF they aren't nice?" Eunnie whispered her last question moments before they drove up to the building. Both girls thanked their driver and exited the vehicle, it speeding away once the door was shut successfully. "I bet they're nice," Chinsun replied with a shy smile. She advanced toward the glass doors leading to the Cube Entertainment building. Everything was spotless and a blinding white, except for the contrasting, black furniture and dark wooden floors. Eunjeong clutched onto Sunny's hand nervously, roaming her eyes across the interior. "Hello," a small voice greeted them. Both looked toward the large receptionist desk, spotting a woman with short, black hair standing behind it.
"Can I help you?" Both girls nodded and walked briskly toward the desk. Chinsun tucked her dark hair behind her ears before smiling wide at the older woman. "Our names are Park Chinsun and Jeon Eunjeong. We're here to meet with Park Choong-min," Sunny explained. The keys clacked as the receptionist pushed the buttons on the phone. She lifted the headset to her ears, her eyes locked on the papers in front of her. "Sir, Park Chinsun and Jeon Eunjeong are here," she spoke calmly into the phone, her voice like a honey glaze. She hummed as a final response and hung up the call. "You're to meet on the seventh floor, third room to your left," she told the girls. Both bowed and thanked the woman before turning and walking toward the elevator.
The girls gathered onto the lift and Sunny pushed the floor numbers. The blinding room disappeared behind the metal doors. The lift jerked to start, slowly ascending floors. "I'm really nervous, unnie," Eunjeong admitted, her hand still tangled with Sunny's. The older of the two hummed gently, her eyes stuck on the red numbers moving. "Don't be. They'll love you, and we'll love them. This is meant to happen." Eunnie turned to look at Sunny's twinkling eyes. She had noticed the way her elder had always spoken with so much positivity. It was a trait Eunnie envied. "Do you really think so?" she asked as the elevator lurched to a stop. Both girls gasped at the movement, their eyes wide as the metal doors pulled apart and revealed a long hallway. "I think we're here for a reason," Sunny answered as she gave Eunnie's hand a gentle and reassuring squeeze.
"Third room, right?" Eunnie nodded and followed after Sunny as she traveled down the hallway. The rooms weren't what she expected. It was the studio, the dance room, and finally an office. Sunny hesitated outside of the office door. Her stomach was starting to tie into knots. What if Eunjeong was right? What if they were rude? What if they didn't get along? All of their hard work would be wasted. "Sunny?" Eunnie whispered, her free hand grabbing the Park's twin's shoulder. The brunette only shook her head and lifted her hand to rap against the door. A very masculine voice called out, "Enter." Sunny twisted the knob and stepped into the room where four other girls sat. They were all so beautiful. "Welcome, girls," CEO Park Choong-min greeted the girls with a warm smile. Both girls bowed in respect.
"Go ahead and introduce yourself, girls." The girls around the room all stood up in front of the two girls. The first to speak claimed to be the eldest of the group. Her long, caramel colored hair flowed over her shoulders in hanging pigtails. "My name is Cho Mi-yeon." She bowed before the girls who quickly reciprocated the action. The next one to step in front of them was a blonde. Her features were sharp and defined. She bowed before the girls with a care free demeanor. "Hi, girls. I'm Jeon Soyeon." Sunny couldn't help but smile as Soyeon threw her hair over her shoulder with a lopsided smirk. As they bowed, a girl similar to Miyeon approached, her fawn hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. She had an amazing figure, one that made Sunny glance down at herself self consciously.
"Annyeonghaseyo. My name is Minnie." She smiled at the two girls. Eunnie bowed first, giggling. Last, but not least was a girl with a stunning physique. Her face was rounded, her features soft. She looked like a model. "I'm Soojin," she greeted, folding her hands in front of her. "Annyeonghaseyo," Sunny and Eunnie both replied, bowing respectfully toward the girl. Eunnie nudged Chinsun to introduce her first with red cheeks. The older of the two took a step forward and bowed with a beaming smile. "My name is Park Chinsun, but you can call me Sunny," she chirped, throwing up two fingers with her left hand. The girls chuckled at her animated introduction before turning to a shifty Eunjeong. "Annyeonghaseyo," she breathed out, bowing. "I'm Jeon Eunjeong. My friends call me Eunnie." She bowed again nervously.
"How old are you, Eunjeong?" Minnie asked curiously. She couldn't be much older than eighteen. She still looked like a baby. "T–Twenty," she answered gently. All of the girls cooed at her shyness. Her ample cheeks turned a scarlet shade and she quickly hid them behind her hands. "She's so cute!" Miyeon exclaimed with a radiant smile that could light up the city of Seoul alone. Sunny turned to face her friend with an excited grin. She knew they would be nice, and she knew they would get along. Fate truly was on their side. "She looks like a baby," Soyeon laughed, reaching forward to pinch Eunnie's cheek, her lips popped out into a pout. "Such pretty skin." Eunnie wanted to hide in a dark hole, though she couldn't lie. She did enjoy the compliments. "She is a baby," Soojin stated, causing the other girls to chuckle.
"Girls." All of their heads whipped around to face their CEO, eyes wide in anticipation. He grinned, though, happy for the fact they seemed to be getting on well so far. "You have the day to spend together. The dance studio is open, or you could go and eat together," he explained. Soyeon's eyebrow rose as an idea popped into her head. "I'd love to check out the dance studio." Sunny clapped excitedly in agreement, causing the group to chuckle. "Why not? Maybe we can bust out a few moves," Soojin said, flicking her long, black hair off her shoulder. Eunjeong left first, being closest to the door, followed by Sunny, then Minnie, Miyeon, Soojin, and lastly Soyeon. They were quiet as they walked the few feet toward the dance studio. Inside was almost bare except a black couch that looked almost as old as Chinsun.
"Oh, no. This will not do," Miyeon exclaimed, staring at the blank and beige colored walls. "That couch is disgusting! We need a makeover." — "With what money?" Soyeon asked with a scoff. She took her seat on the floor, stretching her long legs out in front of her. "We'll have to wait after our debut and just pray to God that we sell." Soojin sat beside the girl with a smile. "Of course we'll sell. We're gonna be bangin'!" All the girls laughed at Soojin's enthusiasm. Though she gave off the hard, bad girl vibe, Soojin was a princess. The bad girl of the group was definitely Soyeon. "We'll get a comfy couch that pulls out into a bed so we can eat comfortably," Miyeon began, moving toward the old couch. "We'll hang up pictures of all of us on the walls." Eunnie quickly shook her head. "Of us? Why?"
Miyeon slipped her hands onto her hips with a sigh, staring at the empty spaces just feeding her possibilities. "This and the studio is going to be where (G)-Idle is born. We're going to be spending countless days and nights, working our tails off to succeed. We need to make this our space," she explained. And she was right. The girls knew what they were getting into. They were going to be pushed to their limits and would be forced to decide whether or not this is truly what they want. But as their eyes scanned the blank walls, all of those possibilities came to light. Awards they would win would sit on a nice shelf in the corner. Large portraits of their photoshoots or candids from award shows would line the walls. Their costumes would hand on racks in the opposite corner. Maybe they'd even have a bonsai tree.
Sunny felt her heart flutter at all of the possibilities that swarmed within her mind. She looked over at Eunjeong, who's eyes were scanning the area, and a smile crept along her thin lips. "Fate's on our side," she whispered, attracting the younger girl's attention. "Huh?" Sunny wrapped her hand around Eunnie's and pulled the girl into her side. "I told you that fate's on our side," she giggled. Eunjeong wrapped her arm around Sunny's waist, hugging the Park twin. She was right. Hopefully.
