Both swordsmen started fighting as Mash is there to back him up. On Cu's battle, they ended up in yet again another memorable place of Fate/Stay night battlefields. It's outside a palace where they met the Assassin and Caster.

Emiya: You're wide open!

Cu looks up to see him, and he dodges another of Emiya's attacks by summoning the trees from the ground to suppress the explosion from being knocked back too far. He straightened himself where he stood and saw him aiming a different arrow at his head. Emiya fires it, but Cu smirks, knowing a counter.

Cu: Here we go, grand scale!

Cu forms a spell where the entire area is being cast around it. Emiya clicks his tongue and tries to jump high, but he instead hits the ceiling of the spell, meaning he's not going anywhere. His bow now disappears as he is slowly getting exhausted from their long battle.

Emiya: You put runes in the air!

Cu: Yeah, my mentor had a spell that summoned the Gate of the Underworld. I ripped her off. It won't do any good to shoot each other at a distance. From here, let's go all out and do our usual fight!

Cu takes a stance with his staff to remember what his role as Servant normally is, a Lancer. Emiya just scoffs, knowing this stance too well but thinking he's stupid because he's a Caster-type. He then summons his two swords as he compliments him.

Emiya: From a Caster class? Maybe you've become smarter than usual.

Cu: Hah. One's cleverness and tastes are two different things!

They now clash their weapons together, coinciding with Artoria and Player's battle. He blocks her attack as Saber goes for another one, but this time, Mash blocks it, kicking up a shockwave and rocks flying around. Olga cast a spell to protect herself while she watches the battle.

Salter continues to fight him, and it's getting on her nerves. But what gets her the most is how Mash is simply behind him all the time.

Salter: What's wrong? Why won't you come forward, girl?!

He blocks another one of her attacks, and this time, he counters by grabbing the blade and headbutting her. She was surprised that this move didn't even corrupt or erode his armor. But then she dashes and makes a stabbing motion that is so strong he didn't block it in time and suddenly knocks him back together with Mash, too.

Mash gets up to see her coming towards them,m and she sees him on the ground and knocked down due to the shocking power. She tries to steady herself despite having wounds all over her body. She didn't even get a chance to defend the next attack from Artoria as she was stunned and knocked back near him.

Olga: 'What are you supposed to do in this situation?! You're her Master, get up!!'

Artoria suddenly unleashes her powerful aura, as Olga is shocked to see how her power level is going up. While Cu and Emiya they all battle it out like old times. Close-quarters combat, using his staff as a lancer weapon by covering it in a fire while twin swords flowing with corrupted power to equalize it.

Cu disarms his other sword and down-strikes him so hard that Emiya barely manages to block it, not for his hand supporting his black sword. Cu smiles, knowing he has the upper hand.

Cu: Game over. I think you've gotten rusty. *gasp*

Cu senses it and looks to where the entrance is and sees the overflowing power Artoria is releasing. He was troubled by this, and Emiya saw this and had a chance.

Emiya: You've got that right. You've come this far, and you're worried about someone else.

But suddenly, Cu senses the sword flying back to him as he tries to block it but instead puts himself in a captive state where both swords are now in Emiya's hands and aims it near Cu's neck. On the other hand, Artoria raises her sword as the overflowing power now courses to the blade. She's using her dark NP towards Mash and Singularity.

Salter: I shall answer those eyes and to the heart that means to protect its Master till the end!

Her Noble Phantasm is now charging as Olga sees what's happening and shouts towards her, which disables her protection barrier.

Olga: Please endure it, Mash! Player, get up!

Salter: Iron Hammer of the Hollow King. Overturn the aurora. Swallow the light!

Salter: Excalibur Morgan!

As the blast comes to him, the shield is barely defending it and deflecting small amounts of the power it released. This was enough for him to get up in pain as he saw the predicament. He sees this and is pushing his effort to get up and help her despite the power it releases.

Meanwhile, Cu is now in a predicament as well. Emiya has overturned the state of their battle. Cu only looks towards the entrance as he watches the power of Excalibur Morgan dimly light up the entrance with its dark colors. But he thinks this the other way.

Emiya: Looks like this is the end.

Cu: Will that shield resist the sword, or will that sword pierce the shield?

Emiya: A long time ago, I heard something similar to that.

Cu: Oh yeah? What's the answer?

Emiya: The answer was "a paradox." Only a contradiction is produced.

Cu: I don't know about that. I always think the same thing about that story. If both things are equal, then doesn't it all come down to the skill of those who wield them? Or to let me put it another way...

He sneakily pulls a chanted rock in his pocket as he says his question to Emiya.

Cu: If you're losing because of the weapon's performance, then it's humans that compensate with wisdom, yes?

He flicks it up in front of his face to create a smokescreen enough for him to escape, but he knows where he is and is immediately stabbed in the back. Emiya smiled,d knowing it was over for him, but then he heard crunching noises as he saw his hand being locked onto the fake corpse.

Cu: Don't underestimate the Sage of the Forest! 'Guess my Master gave me a boost via the command seal...! You genius kid...'

Cu gets out of his fake wooden corpse, and he changes his outfit into his 3rd Ascension, where he has a shoulder plate on his gear but his power is increased drastically. Emiya was shocked to see this as he saw a glow inside the fake corpse, and it detonated, but he managed to get out of the situation.

Cu: Sorry. This is all new to me. But your end is here.

Cu suddenly points his staff at Emiya as he starts chanting his Noble Phanta, sm with Emiya captured by a giant hand made out of flaming wood.

Cu: Timber giant, eaten away by fire. Be imprisoned in a cage of flame! Wicker Man!

The giant Wicker Man rises from the ring of fire, throws Emiya on the ground,d and steps on him, causing a massive explosion the size of a missile. As the giant disappears, Emiya is fatally destroyed and vanishes into blue lights. Cu just looked at his stone and remembered Olga's words being right.

Cu: True, this is better than nothing. Now...

Cu looks up at the entrance to the cave and vanishes quickly. Inside the cave, Artoria continues to release her noble Phantasm nonstop as Mash's defenses are slowly melting because her body can't take its toll.

Mash: 'I'm sorry... Master.'

But suddenly, she felt a touch on her hand and a sound that slapped the skin and held it tightly. She looked up to see the scathed Rider get up again and look at the main enemy in front of him. He held her hand towards the shield and looked at her.

Player: What are you doing to yourself, Mash? Us Riders... No, all fighters don't go and take all on by themselves, even in Servants. You believe in me because you see how I fight to protect you all. Now, let me believe in you that you are the best Shielder Servant I've ever got.

He then holds her hand tight as the Command Seal in his hand vanishes another part as it heals and revitalizes Mash completely. She now slowly stands up together with him as they look at Artoria.

Mash: Please watch me, Master.

She gave everything she got as the shield started to glow and form a massive barrier filled with magic. This made everyone look in awe and shock at the barrier it made.

Olga: The Noble Phantasm...

Mash: HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

All of the Noble Phantasm's line of fire is thinning out as it forms a giant brick wall made out of magic, and Artoria finally sees what the shield is and who she is.

Salter: That shield... It can't be...!

The shield deflects the attack back to her as she screams in pain from the blast she just endured. That was even half of the power she just unleashed a few moments ago. They look up to see her damaged and now glaring at them with intent to kill.

Salter: This is not over... You're not worthy to wield that shield!!!

She screamed at the top of her lungs as her armor was purged and turned into her damaged 2nd Ascension form. She decided to stay in this form all in exchange for the power to defeat her enemies at the cost of her wounds healing slowly.

Player: Mash, you good?

Mash: I'm fine. But this isn't over yet.

Player: No, this time, I'll be the one to do it. Protect Olga and Fou there; I'll fight her. If I ever fall, I'll leave the rest to you.

Mash can hear his voice being determined to defeat her and believe in herself. She truly is precious to him as she just nodded and gave him a thumbs-up sign, even though she didn't know why. He gave her a thumbs up and a nod as he came forward to duel her.

Salter: What are you doing?! Have you become so foolish to die in vain?!

Player: No, I became foolish to underestimate you. So, this time, I'm not holding back.

He shows her seven progrisekeys in his hands, all symbolizing the correct servants in this Fuyuki Holy Grail War in 2004. She was shocked to find her class included as he raised his sword, threw one of the progrisekeys high in the air, and stashed the rest back in his pocket. He caught it and inserted it into his Mark 2 sword.

He suddenly dashes past her when she tries to attack him. She couldn't believe it, she could see him again but he went past her again and this time she was hit on the arm. She can't determine where he is and everyone else is seeing it too, it's like his speed is so quick they can't catch him in the eye.

Salter: Damn you!

This makes Artoria angry as she releases a powerful aura and these aura have been weaponized and formed into tentacles and started attacking whatever it attacks in the way. Mash protects Olga and Fou from the rampaging attack and he's just dodging everything it tries to do.

He started punching her with slashes and bullets that she couldn't predict as it all hit her everywhere. She felt her insides being crushed instantly from the attack speed. He backs off as he tells her to settle this all for good.

Player: Come on, Artoria. Let's settle this.

Salter: GRAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!

He pulls out the progrise key from his weapon and changes it by inserting Artoria's progrisekey and flips it into his briefcase form to charge up his finisher.

He can see her eyes only filled with raging anger and hate towards him as he can see behind her is Cu waiting for his command. He looks at Mash, Fou, and Olga as he smiles knowing this will end now.

Both swordsmen and the sage strike down their finishers with Player and Cu's finisher hitting Artoria Alter and hers is towards Player. Mash deploys her incomplete Noble Phantasm to protect themselves enough from the shockwave and the debris flying. Her attack was diminished when his finisher cut through her attack and suddenly went towards her as everything exploded and caused the sky to create a hole in Excalibur's pillar of light.

Cu saw this and wiped the sweat off his forehead for being too close to being hit by his finisher. The smoke cleared out and saw her with her clothes torn apart and her sword broken.

Salter: So... This is the victory for the power that protects? I see... *strained smile* Ultimately, no matter how my fate changes, I will always meet the same end if I'm alone.

Cu: What the hell does that mean?

She's getting weaker and weaker her grip on the sword weakened and she'll let the gravity do the rest to herself. But something else caught her instead and slowly laid her down. She looked up to see the Master of Shielder looking at her in sadness.

Salter: What... are you doing?

Player: Stop saying that, every time I hear that it aches me. No one deserves to die alone for the whole life...

Salter: You would say that... to a person who tries to kill you?

Player: Yes, I would. I'll tell you something, even if you devoured your light side, it always comes back to fade the darkness. Yours came back even if it's small. You tested us because you can't believe it either. Despite all that's happened there is good in you. Thanks, Artoria, for everything.

She can see him smiling at her, he cares for her when she thought she wasn't. Maybe he's the only one for her, the person who took care of her after what happened in the past. A memory of a promise to return to her land and guard it, the person who wields that red scarf and a green outfit. Seeing that memory just makes her smile more and it is genuine.

But all of a sudden they can hear an echoing clap making the girls and Fou flinch from this but Player, he's just so pissed and angry. He even recognized the voice when it started speaking.

He roundhouse kicks Lev to the stomach as a massive red and black kanji marks where he is, he was knocked back and it explodes along with him. Mash and Olga covered their faces from what he did as everyone else in Chaldea watched in shock too but they could also feel the dark powers he possessed. Romani is unsettled by what the Last master has become so he will need to talk to him about this later.

Back in the Greater Grail, they saw him overflowing with negative power and they saw Lev irritated and pissed off at him. They saw the damage done to him, it was horrifying. A massive hole in his body was slowly regenerated back by those crawling worms that had multiple eyes glaring at him and regenerating the body back to its original condition.

Lev: Why? Why?! Why did you let these humans avoid the course of fate that is chosen for them?!

Player?: Your prediction is already concluded, the moment you have made a deal with the devil. You can also drop your facade. Lev Lainur Flauros, the man behind the destruction of the future from 2025.

Lev: Ark, you trashed up technology... Hehe, it doesn't matter now. Are you listening, Dr. Romani?

Romani: Lev...

He says all of this to make sure they are pulled down in despair and hopelessness. But for Ark, he doesn't let it happen as he gives him another lesson he must know.

Player(Ark): Your statement is predicted but not concluded. There can only be one true King, and that King is not yours. It's ours, he lives eternal and universal. Not even some second-rate magecraft can vanquish the greatest, kindest, and most powerful demon king of time, including his son.

Lev: What?!

This information made everyone look confused about what this means. For Romani, he was surprised by this like he's in disbelief of what he heard from Ark and cannot possibly be true. Olga was surprised also by the fact that someone more powerful than Lev's boss could even outclass all people who use Magecraft.

Lev: This Singularity has also reached its limit, eh? Cursed Saber. If you'd just obeyed, you would have been allowed to live. Even when given the Holy Grail, she caused trouble by wanting to sustain this era. Farewell, Romani, Mash, and you Candidate #50. You Riders and Servants cannot stop our King!

The malice is now gone as he's unconscious and about to fall to the edge of the cliff. Mash grabs him and covers him as she looks at Olga with stoicism contacts Romani and lets Mash talk to him immediately. Olga still tormented decided to do only that and let Mash do the work.

Mash: The cave's collapsing! No, the cavern wasn't stable in the first place! Doctor! Perform an emergency Rayshift!

Dr. Roman: I know! But I'm sorry, it may collapse faster than I can fix it! Anyway, it can still be salvaged if—

The signal cut off immediately as the ground they were stepping on collapsed as they saw him falling and they screamed at him.

Olga: Player!!

Mash: Senpai!!

They all reached out to him and grabbed his arm before everything was covered in darkness. Not knowing now what's next.

Inside the darkness, one can hear the sound of a person talking to someone with joy. He opens his eyes as he sees the bright ceiling light shining down on him he covers it with his hand and sees his command seal having the eyes of the motif remain.

???: All right, you're a good boy. Want something to eat? Nuts? Or maybe fish? Hmm, not sure if you are a cat or a squirrel. But that's okay, you are pretty cute!

Player: Where... am I?

He then saw Fou looking at him and licking his cheek as a woman looked over him and greeted him.

???: Hm? Ah, the hero has awakened. There, there, that's how a main character should be. Good morning, Player. Are you conscious now?

Player: Ggh! My head... what the hell happened?

???: Hm, you're not thinking straight yet? This is the first time we've spoken directly like this.

As he changes his clothes he can see himself feeling a little exhausted from the stunt they pulled. He still worries about what he just become, a dark Rider allying with them. He knows that Ark isn't like that before being 03 but now that the future has become uncertain, who knows what other surprises are in store. But then he was hit like a brick as the dawn realization of the future being destroyed meaning his future has been destroyed and his family is now dead and burned.

He then looked at himself in the mirror with eyes craving something towards the person who caused this, he's craving for power. He didn't know why but he felt incomplete and then left the room with caution and care for himself as he shouldn't be moving around too much after the hefty rayshift. She watches him leave as she's on her thoughts about him and more specifically being the prince of the Demon King.

Da Vinci: 'Just like the multitudes of brave souls who weren't remembered by history as they saved humanity. You've been given a role to fight, not as a hero, but as a human walking a path that was preordained by the stars and your father.'

He follows Fou towards the Command Room and when he enters it's still the same except the debris is now being cleaned up by the staff. He follows Fou where he sees someone looking at the burning CHALDEAS.

Mash: Fou? What's wrong?

She then hears him walking towards her as she greets him.

Mash: Good morning, Senpai. I am glad to see that you're okay.

Player: Good morning, Mash.

He suddenly hugged her which she found shocking and Fou just yawned ignoring the scene. Mash doesn't know it but he was tearing up knowing he still has them and her most importantly.

Mash: Senpai...

Player: Thank you. For not leaving me behind.

Mash: I should be the one thanking you...

But somebody is just watching this normally and that was Da Vinci and Romani. Romani just looked at Da Vinci with a facepalm knowing she was intrigued by their relationship. Romani distracts them by clearing his throat loudly for everyone to hear intentionally. The two are shocked to see them and blush before straightening themselves like soldiers as they see his look of being serious right now.

Romani: Ahem. First of all, congratulations on surviving and completing your mission, Player. Thanks to you, Mash, Olga, and Chaldea were saved.

Player: Wait, speaking of her, what happened?

Romani: Well... We found her, but...

Da Vinci: She's tormented at everything. We found her and had an operation. It went perfectly fine but after that, she just confined herself in the room for a long time.

They all frown and look down on this but he's still pissed off as his malice slowly awakens again with the staff feeling it again but they can't blame him for what caused it. It died down as they saw him wipe his tears and look at them with stoicism.

Romani: Anyways, the Fuyuki Singularity was destroyed, thanks to you. But we hypothesize that the future was unchanged due to another cause. Seven new singularities have been discovered. But these singularities are different. These are humanity's turning points. Rayshift into these seven singularities and get history back on track. It's the only way to save humanity.

Player: What about the guys in the coffins?

Romani: *walks up to one* All other Master candidates are frozen. Mash is the only Servant we have to send to the frontlines. I realize you're being forced into this situation. Even so, I'll still say it.
