Garrett and I hung out for a few more hours then he took me back to my house. I was in such bliss. It all seems so unreal, it feels like I'm daydreaming in a dream I hope I never have to wake up from.

"Brinley!!" My thoughts got caught off by a loud voice screaming my name onto my ears. I jumped a little, my breath became heavier as I saw Ally and dad burst out laughing in front of me. "Glad to see you're back from Garrettland." Ally laughed mockingly.

"Don't mock your sister, Ally." My dad now wasn't laughing anymore, he was looking at me with a serious expression. "So?"

"So... what?" I rose an eyebrow at my dad. What does he mean by 'so?' It there something I'm supposed to do or tell him?

"When are we meeting the fortunate guy?" He crossed his arms in front of him. Right. He really wants to meet Garrett. But judging by his expression, it doesn't look like he's so happy about it.

"O-oh! That... Garrett will come this friday to have dinner with u-us dad. Is that okay?" My paksm became sweaty at the thought of my father intimidating Garrett the entire dinner. Instead of replying, he just walked off towards his room.

"Oh God I have a bad feeling about this. What could he be thinking of? What if he doesn't like Garrett? What if he forces us to break up? What if-" my breath became heavier as the bad thoughts flooded my head. This dinner can't happen.

"What if you calm down a little, everything will be okay." Ally hugged my tightly, making me feel at ease. She is right everything will be okay.

The week went by way too slow, now that there's no school there's not much to do. But it is Friday now, the day of the dinner and I couldn't be more anxious about it. Everything needs to be perfect. Garrett will arrive in a few hours.

Ally and I prepared everything and dad helped a little, he doesn't look in a good mood today, I hope that doesn't affect the dinner, he better not tell something rude to Garrett.

"Alright, dinner's ready now I will take a shower and get ready, Garrett is coming in an hour." I took a deep breath then rushed towards the bathroom for a quick shower, I can't believe this really is happening, Garrett is having dinner with my family as my boyfriend. What if something goes wrong?

I need to stop worrying.

I hopped out of the shower, and made my way to my room, where a baby blue with flowers dress was waiting to be worn.

I finished getting ready and walked downstairs, giving everything a last minute check, then I saw Ally and dad sitting on the couch.

"Okay guys, Garrett might be here anytime soon, please don't be rude to him or embarrass me infront of him guys please."  Ally just laughed but my dad still looked very serious, I hope they at least listened to what I said.

Suddenly there was a ring in the doorbell. It must be Garrett.  I ran to the door, and opened it, revealing Garrett holding a much presentable flower this time and a black tux.

"H-hi Garrett.. c-come in." I grabbed the flowers and he flashed a side smile. I could he was just as nervous as I am at this moment.

"Well... Ally, dad. This is my boyfriend, Garrett Matthews." Ally and dad stood up and looked fiercely at Garrett, I noticed the staring made him uncomfortable so I held his hand in a comforting way.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Woodall and Ally." I can tell Garrett was trying very hard to act the 'proper way' I hope it can last long enough.

"It's so nice to finally meet you Garrett, Brinley talks about you 24/7." Ally laughed but all I did was glare at her as my cheeks became red as tomatoes. All Garrett did was laugh nervously.

"Let's have dinner." We waited for my dad to say something, but he didn't look like he was going to speak anytime soon, so instead we walked to the table and sat all together while I served the dinner, after I served it and I Garrett, we all started eating in a comfortable silence.

"It is really good.. did you make it Ally?" My eyes widened when I looked at Garrett realizing he was the one that had just spoken. He has never started a conversation before, this is really a miracle.

"Actually, Brin made it, I just helped a little." I looked up at Ally who just winked at me, then at Garrett who was giving me a big smile.

The silence took over again, until finally my dad decided to say something. 

"What do you want from my daughter Matthews? I've heard what you have done before, and I won't let you hurt her anymore." My dad kept glaring and pointing towards Garrett, I could see the nervous look on his face.

"Dad that's in the past, you're making him uncomfortable..." I looked towards my dad, hoping he would end this little scene before anything would happen.

"Your dad is right Brin, I-I did hurt you, but that won't happen anymore Mr. Woodall, I will take care of your daughter." I could see Garrett had a genuine smile on his face, how did he gain so much confidence. High key I love this new Garrett.

My dad's expression finally softened, and the dinner continued with everyone chatting and sharing some laughs.

After everything was over, it was time for Garrett to go home, so I lead him toward the door.

"Thank you Garrett, tonight was amazing." I smiled, planting a soft kiss on his cheek. But my smile faded once I saw a serious expression on his face.

"Brin there's something I need to tell you." He looked serious now. What could he want to say?

"Remember I told you I got accepted into Oxford? The thing is... I have to leave in two weeks... classes are starting soon." As he spoke, I felt my heart break into little tiny pieces, but he kept going on, then tears started to form in my eyes. "But I don't want to be apart from you, Brin. Please, come with me."

Then I was left speechless.
