Garrett's P.O.V.
Seriously why is George always taking the fucking car, I can't even enjoy a burger at my favorite place without having to walk and get all sweaty before I even get there.
I walked all the way to Rusty's for my lunch, while I walked I remembered the dinner with Brinley and my parents. God that was the worst thing ever, I hope it never happens again, although I really enjoyed seeing her face so flustered and awkward the entire time.
How could I forget, George being shirtless In front of her, and of course she couldn't take her eyes off him, I have to try harder for him to stay away from her, I can tell he is trying to get closer to her, and I can't let that happen.
Thoughts flooded my mind until I realized I had finally reached my destination, I went in, eager to get my usual order, when my eyes caught and interesting glance, it was Brinley.... with George??
Fury took over my body, I walked towards them to hear George trying to tell her something. I wanted to scream, to punch him right there, when had they even made plans to meet? Why are they even together? My hand couldn't help but form fists.
Then realization hit me. Just look at the mess you've become. I'm getting out of control, the worst part is I don't even know how did that happen, I let Brinley into my life now because of her my head has turned into a mess. When did this all happen? Why did it change? Why should I even care who she is with? Since the very beginning I knew all she wanted to get from me was my brother.
But still, I went along with it, stupid Garrett.
Before any other words were said, I walked out of Rusty's the hunger completely vanishing in the moment, I was too focused on figure this out.
Then I heard that feminine voice, too annoying, calling my name, trying to explain the situation to me.
"I don't care who you go out with, Brinley." Finally, the first good thing that has come out of my mouth in weeks probably.
I kept walking, I don't care if she follows me, I never have cared about this feelings, why now should be different. I can't help but cringe at how stupid I probably looked being so nice to her, time to get my act together.
I finally got home, walking straight to my room, I turned on a video game, this might be a distraction for a bit. I hope I don't have to see Brinley or George anytime soon.
"Hey man, are you okay? You acted a bit weird back there." Great. The only thing I was expecting would not happen. George walked into my room, I hate when he does that, I hate his presence simply, but I'd rather not show him that.
"You and Brinley seemed to have fun so I didn't want to interrupt." I shrugged, honestly this conversation couldn't matter less to me at the moment.
"Are you sure? You're not mad I went out with her?" Can someone make him shut up right now?
"No, you can do whatever you want." I kept my eyes on my game, maybe he'll understand I couldn't care less about whatever he does or Brinley does.
"Wow thanks bro I didn't know how to tell you this, but I actually like Brinley, I really hoped you wouldn't be mad, you're the best." He side hugged me but I didn't bother to even look at him, then he finally left. Brinley is not my problem anymore, she actually never was, now I can finally focus on what really matters.
A few hours had went by, but I hadn't even realized it since I was do engaged in the video game. I heard a soft knock on my door. I know who it is. Mom. The only person that has the decency to respect other's privacy.
"Hello honey, I just wanted to let you know dinner's ready, I made enough so you can invite over your friend Brinley, she is a nice girl." Seriously Why does she have to bring that up now.
I looked up to see my mom giving me a sweet smile, the only smile that could really make me break.
"Brinley is busy today Mom, but I'll go down in a bit." I gave her a side smile, putting my controls away to go to grab some dinner.
I have to say, not one of the best times in the Matthews Household.
We all sat at the table, each filling our plates with food, it's usual George and I sit across each other, but I sometimes wish I didn't have to.
"Everything okay between you guys? You seem quieter than usual." Dad pointed out, then a chuckle left his mouth. I'm sure that's because he knows we never speak while having dinner.
"Well everything is going great for me Dad, I don't know about my brother. But I'm just letting you know, I'm hanging out with a girl, she is amazing, I can't wait for you guys to meet her properly." I kept my gaze low as he went on about his new 'girl' but there was a point where I couldn't take it anymore.
"I'll finish dinner in my room." Without any other word left to say, I took my plate and walked out of that nightmare.
I don't care about Brinley, and the last thing I want right now is to listen about her and the amazing date she and George had.
Yeah right.
