Scripture:

So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rob he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife and they become one flesh. 

- Genesis 2: 21-24

Observation:

God made Eve from one of Adam's ribs to not only create another human being, but to also give man and woman a natural desire to join together as one.

 According to Believer's Bible Commentary, Genesis 2:24 is significant because, "With the words of verse 24 God instituted monogamous marriage. Like all divine institutions, it was established for man's good and cannot be violated with impunity. The marriage bond illustrates the relationship that exists between Christ and the church (Eph. 5:22-32)." 

This means that God has a certain someone who He desires you to marry. 

Application:

Marriage is special. In fact, it is so special that God only wants us to be married to a single person in our lifetime. 

Prayer:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for creating marriage. Please prepare me for the man You intend for me to become one flesh with, and please help me to not be distracted by men You do not want me to be with.
